There is no universal PSI for electric scooter tires. Set the pressure specified for your exact scooter model and tire, then verify it at the valve with a reliable gauge. The correct number may differ between models and even between the front and rear tires of the same model. Check on the schedule in the applicable manual, measure under the specified conditions, and investigate repeated pressure loss instead of simply adding more air.
Why electric scooters do not share one “correct” PSI
Tire pressure is determined by the tire’s construction, size, load rating, wheel design and the scooter manufacturer’s handling targets. Two scooters that look similar can require noticeably different pressures. A manufacturer can also specify separate front and rear values because the wheels carry different loads or use different tire designs.
That is why a “typical scooter PSI” found in a forum or a generic chart is not a safe substitute for the documentation for your scooter. Use the exact model name and version, the tire’s sidewall marking and the current manufacturer guidance. If those references appear to conflict, identify the tire and scooter version first and ask the manufacturer or a qualified repairer to reconcile them.
Where to find the right pressure for your scooter
1. Read the exact manual or support page
Start with the owner’s manual or the manufacturer’s support documentation for your precise model. Look for a tire-pressure section, a maintenance schedule or a specification table. Do not assume that a value for a similarly named “Pro,” “Max,” “Lite” or generation model applies to yours.

2. Inspect the tire sidewall
The tire sidewall may show a PSI marking. Apollo’s maintenance guidance says to use that marking as the primary reference when checking pressure. Read all of the marking, including whether it identifies a maximum pressure, a range or a recommended operating value. A maximum is a limit, not necessarily the pressure you should target for normal riding.
3. Confirm front and rear requirements
Write down the required pressure for each wheel. Some scooters use one value front and rear, while others do not. For example, Apollo publishes different front and rear values for the Air and Go, but one value for both tires on the City and Pro.
4. Check the tire type and version
A pneumatic tire, a tubeless tire and a solid or self-sealing design may have different service instructions. Replacement tires can also have a different sidewall rating from the original. If you replace a tire, confirm that its size, construction and pressure marking are compatible with the scooter before inflating it.

Model-specific PSI examples
The figures below show why copying one scooter’s pressure to another is unreliable. They are examples from the named manufacturers’ guidance, not a universal pressure chart. Verify the current manual and the marking on your own tire before riding.
| Scooter or guidance | Pressure information | Important qualification |
|---|---|---|
| Xiaomi Electric Scooter 4 Lite (2nd Gen) | 45–50 PSI, front and rear | Xiaomi’s cited guidance also recommends a monthly check and a pump with a pressure gauge. |
| Xiaomi Electric Scooter 5 Max | 45–50 PSI | Xiaomi recommends checking monthly and says pressure outside the recommended range can reduce handling and stability, increase tire wear and affect comfort. |
| Apollo Air | 36 PSI front; 50 PSI rear | Apollo-specific published guidance; confirm the current exact tire and scooter information. |
| Apollo City | 45–50 PSI on both tires | Apollo-specific published guidance; do not transfer it to another model. |
| Apollo Go | 36 PSI front; 50 PSI rear | Apollo-specific published guidance; confirm the current exact tire and scooter information. |
| Apollo Pro | 50 PSI on both tires | Apollo-specific published guidance; verify the current tire marking. |
| NAVEE V25i Pro | Standard range: 42–48 PSI; stated safety range: 30–55 PSI | NAVEE specifies cold-tire measurement and a gauge accurate to at least ±1 PSI. The safety range is not a reason to target either boundary. |
| Segway Ninebot Max G30 | 32–37 PSI in a secondary guide | Use the current Segway documentation for the exact scooter before treating this as a specification. |
| Segway Ninebot Max G2 | 42–48 PSI in a secondary guide | Use the current Segway documentation for the exact scooter before treating this as a specification. |
The variation is substantial: the examples span the low 30s to 50 PSI, and some scooters differ by 14 PSI between their front and rear tires. The model name, generation and tire marking therefore matter as much as the number itself.
What you need to measure and adjust pressure
- A reliable tire-pressure gauge. Apollo recommends a reliable gauge, and NAVEE’s V25i Pro guidance calls for accuracy of at least ±1 PSI.
- An air pump. A compact electric pump with an integrated pressure gauge can both inflate and display the pressure. Xiaomi recommends this type of pump for the cited Electric Scooter 4 Lite (2nd Gen) guidance.
- The correct valve adapter, if required. Use an adapter only if the scooter’s valve and your pump do not connect directly. Avoid forcing a connector onto the stem.
- The scooter’s specification at hand. Keep the exact manual or support page open so you do not rely on memory or a value for another model.
How to check scooter tire pressure step by step
- Park securely and switch the scooter off. Place it on a stable surface where it cannot roll while you work. If the deck or wheel is hot after a ride, allow it to cool according to the model’s instructions before measuring.
- Prepare the gauge and pump. Check that the gauge is suitable for the expected PSI range and that the pump connector fits the valve. For the NAVEE V25i Pro, the stated accuracy requirement is at least ±1 PSI.
- Remove the valve cap. Keep the cap clean and set it aside where it will not collect grit.
- Attach the gauge to the valve stem. Press the connector on squarely to minimize air loss. Read the displayed PSI before adding air.
- Compare the reading with the exact specification. Check the correct wheel, tire and measurement condition. If the specification is a range, stay within that range rather than automatically choosing the highest number.
- Add air in small increments if the reading is low. Inflate briefly, detach or use the pump’s gauge as instructed, and recheck. Small increments reduce the chance of overshooting.
- Release air carefully if the reading is high. Use the gauge or the valve’s release mechanism in short presses, then measure again. Never exceed the applicable manufacturer or tire limit.
- Repeat on the other wheel. Front and rear values may differ, so record each reading separately.
- Reinstall the valve cap. The cap helps keep dirt and moisture away from the valve. Confirm that it is seated without cross-threading.
- Record abnormal changes. If the same tire repeatedly loses pressure, stop treating inflation as the fix and inspect for damage or a leak.
Measure under the correct conditions
Pressure changes with temperature and recent riding, so the measurement condition in the manual matters. NAVEE’s V25i Pro service guidance defines a cold tire as one that has been static for at least two hours or has been ridden no more than 3 km. Follow that condition for the V25i Pro, and follow a different condition if your scooter’s manual specifies one.

For the Xiaomi models cited here, the guidance emphasizes monthly checking and use of a pressure-gauge-equipped pump. It does not turn the 45–50 PSI value into a universal target for other scooters. Measure consistently under the condition required by your model so readings can be compared over time.

How often to check
No single interval applies to every electric scooter. The reviewed manufacturer instructions establish these model-specific practices:
- Xiaomi Electric Scooter 4 Lite (2nd Gen): check monthly.
- Xiaomi Electric Scooter 5 Max: check monthly. Xiaomi’s support article states, “Check the tire pressure every month, and inflate the tires if the pressure is too low.” That sentence applies to the support guidance for this model, not to every scooter.
- NAVEE V25i Pro: check monthly or whenever low pressure is suspected, and check before riding if the scooter has been parked for more than 30 days.
Your exact manual may call for a shorter interval. Check sooner after fitting a tire, hitting a pothole or curb, noticing a change in steering or leaving the scooter unused for an extended period.

What low and high pressure do to the ride
Low pressure
A tire below its specified pressure can feel soft or sluggish and may make steering less predictable. Xiaomi says pressure outside the recommended range can reduce handling and stability, increase tire wear and affect comfort. Those effects are a warning to restore the model’s specified pressure, not evidence that every scooter has the same low-pressure threshold.
Low pressure can also be a symptom of a slow leak, a damaged valve or a tire that is not seated correctly. If the reading falls again soon after inflation, inspect the tire and valve and obtain qualified service rather than repeatedly riding on an underinflated tire.

High pressure
Overinflation can make the ride harsher and reduce the tire’s ability to absorb small surface irregularities. It can also move the tire outside the handling range intended by the manufacturer. Do not use a stated safety or maximum boundary as a preferred everyday setting; target the recommended operating value for the exact tire and scooter.

What to do when the numbers disagree
It is possible to find a different value in a manual, on a tire, on a support page or in a secondary guide. Resolve the discrepancy in this order:
- Confirm the identity. Check the complete model name, generation, regional edition and tire size.
- Read the tire itself. Note whether the sidewall number is a maximum, a range or a recommended pressure.
- Prefer current manufacturer instructions. A current manual or support page for the exact model should control over a generic chart.
- Separate front and rear values. A number that is correct for one wheel may be wrong for the other.
- Check measurement conditions. A warm tire and a cold-tire specification are not directly comparable.
- Ask for clarification before riding if the conflict remains. Provide the model, tire marking and the two conflicting values to the manufacturer or a qualified repairer.
The secondary figures sometimes quoted for the Segway Ninebot Max G30 (32–37 PSI) and Max G2 (42–48 PSI) illustrate model-to-model variation. Because those figures come from a secondary guide, confirm them against the current documentation for your exact scooter.
How to investigate pressure that keeps dropping
A small change after an adjustment may reflect an imperfect gauge connection, but repeated or rapid loss needs attention. Check the valve cap and stem for obvious damage, inspect the tread and sidewall for cuts or embedded objects, and look for a tire bead that is not seated evenly. Do not remove a penetrating object or dismantle a tubeless assembly unless you have the tools and training for that tire system.
If the tire is visibly damaged, will not hold the specified pressure or loses pressure between routine checks, stop riding it and contact the manufacturer or a qualified repairer. The sources establish the need for inspection and appropriate replacement, but they do not provide one universal leak diagnosis or repair procedure for every scooter.
Pressure, replacement tires and compatibility
When a tire is worn or damaged, replacement must match the scooter’s required size and construction. NAVEE’s maintenance guidance discusses inspection and replacement conditions, but a replacement tire should not be chosen by PSI alone. Confirm compatibility with the wheel, valve, load requirements and the manufacturer’s service instructions. After installation, set the pressure from the replacement tire and scooter guidance, then check it again after the first short ride under the specified cold-tire condition.
A practical maintenance checklist
- Identify the exact scooter model, generation and wheel.
- Read the current manual or support guidance and the tire sidewall.
- Keep a gauge, or an electric pump with an integrated gauge, available.
- Measure at the model’s specified condition; for the NAVEE V25i Pro, that means static for at least two hours or ridden no more than 3 km.
- Check monthly when the model guidance says monthly, and sooner when pressure seems low or the scooter has been stored for a long period.
- Adjust in small increments and recheck both wheels.
- Stay within the recommended operating range and never exceed the applicable limit.
- Replace the valve cap after measuring.
- Investigate repeated pressure loss, visible damage or unusual handling before riding further.
Bottom line
The right electric-scooter tire pressure is the value specified for your exact scooter and tire, not a universal number. Use the sidewall and current manufacturer instructions, measure at the valve with a reliable gauge, follow the required cold- or warm-tire condition, and check on the stated schedule. The published examples—from Apollo’s different front and rear values to Xiaomi’s 45–50 PSI guidance and NAVEE’s 42–48 PSI standard range—show why model-specific verification is essential.
