Choose the Motorola Edge 50 Pro 5G for its faster listed wired charging, wireless charging and dedicated 3× telephoto camera. Choose the Motorola Edge 70 Fusion for its larger listed battery and newer model generation. The right choice depends on your market: Motorola lists different Edge 70 Fusion chipsets and battery capacities on its APAC and UK specification pages.

Which phone has the better battery and charging?

Edge 70 Fusion: higher listed battery capacity

Motorola lists a 7000 mAh battery for the Edge 70 Fusion on its APAC page, compared with 4500 mAh for the Edge 50 Pro. That is a substantial difference in listed capacity, but it does not establish how long either phone lasts in real use. The UK Fusion listing specifies a different 5200 mAh battery, so check the local model rather than assuming every market gets the APAC configuration.

Edge 50 Pro: faster advertised charging and wireless charging

The Edge 50 Pro’s advertised 125 W wired rate is higher than the Fusion’s listed 68 W. The Pro also supports up to 50 W wireless charging and 10 W wireless power sharing; the cited Fusion APAC specifications list wired charging only. These are manufacturer specifications, not a guarantee of charging time under every condition.

How do their cameras differ?

The clearest hardware distinction is the Edge 50 Pro’s dedicated 10 MP telephoto camera with 3× optical zoom. It gives the Pro a listed optical-zoom option that the Fusion’s APAC camera specification does not include. The Fusion instead lists a 50 MP Sony LYTIA 710 main camera with optical image stabilization and a 13 MP ultrawide camera that also supports macro photography.

Which display is larger and brighter?

The Fusion’s listed panel is slightly larger and higher-resolution: 6.8 inches at 2772 × 1272, versus the Pro’s 6.7-inch, 2712 × 1220 pOLED display. Both support refresh rates up to 144 Hz. Motorola describes the Pro as reaching up to 2000 nits peak brightness and the Fusion up to 5200 nits; these are manufacturer figures, not equivalent independent brightness measurements.

What is the price difference in India?

Motorola India’s store listed the Edge 70 Fusion from ₹30,999 on 7 October 2026. Motorola’s Edge 50 Pro product page displayed ₹27,999 for the 12 GB RAM/256 GB storage configuration and marked it out of stock on that date. These are not a like-for-like price comparison: the Fusion figure is a starting price across configurations, while the Pro figure is for a specific configuration, and availability differs. Check the live listings and match RAM, storage and stock before deciding based on price. Sources: Motorola India smartphone store and Motorola India Edge 50 Pro page.

For historical context, Motorola India announced the Edge 70 Fusion on 6 March 2026 at an effective starting price of ₹24,999, inclusive of offers and discounts, with sale beginning 12 March. That was a launch offer, not evidence of the current price. Motorola India’s launch announcement.

Which model should you buy?

  • Pick the Edge 50 Pro if wireless charging, faster advertised wired charging or a dedicated 3× optical telephoto camera matters most to you. Its APAC page also states a software-support policy of three OS upgrades and four years of security maintenance releases.
  • Pick the Edge 70 Fusion if you want the higher battery capacity listed for the APAC model, a slightly larger and higher-resolution display, or the protection ratings listed on that regional page.
  • Check your exact regional variant first if chipset, battery, memory or storage will decide the purchase. Motorola’s APAC and UK Fusion pages disagree on chipset and battery capacity, and Motorola notes that specifications can vary by market. The cited Fusion pages establish Android 16 for APAC but do not state a comparable upgrade and security-maintenance promise.
