Verdict: The Dyson V10 Konical is a capable cordless vacuum whose main differentiators are a conical, hair-detangling floorhead and an optional Auto-empty Dok. Dyson’s specifications point to strong everyday cleaning potential, but the headline suction and runtime figures are manufacturer claims rather than independent measurements. The vacuum makes the most sense for homes that value cordless convenience, long-hair control and dock-based storage; it is a less obvious choice if floor space, upfront cost or independently verified comparisons matter most.
The name “Konical” identifies a distinct product, not a spelling variation of the older Cyclone V10. Your buying decision depends heavily on configuration: the standard US listing includes the vacuum and basic tools with a wall dock, while the self-emptying station is a separate option or bundle whose availability varies by region.
What the Dyson V10 Konical is
The V10 Konical is a cordless stick vacuum built around a floorhead with two conical brush bars. Dyson says the bars move hair toward the ends and into the suction path instead of allowing long strands to wind around a conventional brush roll. That design is the product’s central idea: reduce manual brush cleaning while handling everyday dust, crumbs and pet or human hair.

How the conical cleaner head works
The All Floor Cones head uses two cone-shaped brush bars rather than one cylindrical roller. Dyson says the geometry guides hair outward and into the airflow, where it can be collected instead of forming a tangled band around the brush. The company claims the system can detangle hair up to 25 inches long.
That claim is useful if your household has long hair or a shedding pet, but it should not be read as a guarantee that the head will never need attention. Hair can still collect around end caps, seals or other tools, and performance depends on the amount and type of hair. Inspect the head periodically, especially after cleaning rugs with dense fibers.
The head is intended for both hard floors and carpet. For a fair comparison with another cordless vacuum, look for tests that use the same debris, floor type and power mode. The available evidence does not establish a controlled, like-for-like result showing that the V10 Konical cleans better than a named competitor.
Runtime, power modes and charging
Dyson lists a maximum runtime of 60 minutes. That is a best-case ceiling, not a guaranteed whole-home figure: the selected power mode, floorhead, debris load and battery condition all affect how long the vacuum runs. Eco is the setting to use when covering large areas or doing light dusting. Medium is a compromise for routine floor cleaning, while MAX is intended for short bursts on stubborn debris or heavily soiled areas.
The four-hour listed charge time means you should return the vacuum to its charger after use rather than expecting quick top-ups between rooms. A wall dock keeps the machine ready, but it requires a suitable mounting location near power and enough clearance to lift the vacuum on and off safely.

- The All Floor Cones cleaner head de-tangles all hair lengths⁴ and reveals invisible dust. Designed for all floor types.
- Whole-machine HEPA filtration. Full sealed five-stage filtration captures 99.99% of microscopic particles as small as 0.1 microns.³
- 150 AW of suction.¹
- Up to 60 minutes of fade-free Dyson power.²
- Power button operated for continuous cleaning.
Because Dyson does not publish independent mode-by-mode endurance figures in the supplied material, treat the 60-minute number as a specification for planning rather than a prediction of your own cleaning session. If you need to clean a large home in one uninterrupted pass, consider whether a second battery or a different power-management routine is available for your exact configuration; do not assume every V10 Konical bundle includes one.
What comes in the box
Dyson’s listed US vacuum configuration contains the All Floor Cones cleaner head, a crevice tool, charger, mini motorized tool and wall dock. The exact contents can change between a vacuum-only listing and a docked bundle, so read the “in the box” section of the live regional page before checkout.

This is the primary attachment for floors and the component that carries the anti-tangle design. Use it for general carpet and hard-floor cleaning, then check the brush area occasionally for lodged fibers.
Mini motorized tool
The powered mini head is suited to smaller upholstered surfaces, stairs, mattresses and localized pet-hair cleanup. Its smaller contact area makes it more practical than the full-size floorhead on furniture, but it also concentrates battery use when operated in higher modes.
Crevice tool
Use the narrow nozzle for baseboards, radiator gaps, sofa seams and other confined spaces. It has no independent motor, so airflow and the selected vacuum mode determine how aggressively it pulls debris.

The Auto-empty Dok is the V10 Konical’s most significant optional feature. Dyson describes it as a station that empties the vacuum after cleaning, charges it and stores up to three tools. The station’s 2.5-liter liner is advertised as holding up to 60 days of dust, although the actual interval depends on the amount and type of debris in your home.
Automatic emptying reduces the dusty, hands-on step of opening a small bin over a trash can. It also gives every tool a fixed storage location, which can make the vacuum easier to keep ready. The trade-off is physical size: the dock occupies substantially more floor or wall area than a simple charger, and the liner is a consumable that must eventually be replaced.
TechRadar’s hands-on review, published August 10, 2026, rated the V10 Konical with the dock 4 out of 5. That publication praised cleaning, handling and anti-tangle performance, while criticizing the dock’s size and interface and noting premium pricing. Those are TechRadar’s test findings, not an independent test performed for this article.
Dyson’s US page displayed the dock as “coming soon” in one context. Do not assume the station is currently included, stocked or sold separately in every country. Verify the live regional listing, bundle name and replacement-liner availability before paying extra for a self-emptying setup.

Filtration and dust handling
Dyson says the vacuum uses fully sealed five-stage HEPA filtration and captures 99.99% of microscopic particles as small as 0.1 microns. This is a manufacturer claim; no independent verification of that specific percentage or particle size was established in the available evidence.
A sealed design can help reduce exhaust leakage compared with an unsealed system, but it does not remove the need for maintenance. Follow the manual’s washing and drying instructions for any washable filter, and never reinstall a damp filter. Empty the handheld bin before debris reaches the inlet, because overfilling can reduce airflow and make the emptying mechanism harder to operate.
With the Auto-empty Dok, dust is transferred to the station’s liner rather than being released each time you empty the handheld unit. You still need to monitor the liner, inspect seals and keep the dock’s intake clear. The advertised 60-day capacity is an estimate tied to household usage, not a universal replacement schedule.
Setup and first-use checklist
- Confirm the bundle. Match the listing to the tools and dock you expect, and check whether the Auto-empty Dok is included or optional in your region.
- Charge before the first long session. Connect the supplied charger and allow the listed four-hour charge period if the battery is empty.
- Mount the wall dock or position the Dok. Choose a location near an outlet with enough vertical and floor clearance to insert and remove the vacuum without striking furniture.
- Attach the floorhead. Push the All Floor Cones head onto the wand until it locks. Fit the wand to the handheld unit in the same way.
- Select a starting mode. Begin in Eco for light dust and hard floors, move to Medium for routine mixed-floor work and reserve MAX for short, heavily soiled areas.
- Test each included tool. Run the crevice and mini motorized tools briefly so you know how their release buttons and airflow feel before a full cleaning session.
- Return the vacuum to its charger. Dock it after use so the next session starts with a full battery, and check that charging indicators appear.
Maintenance and common failure points
Hair or fibers remain on the brush bars
Switch off the vacuum, remove the cleaner head and inspect both conical bars and their ends. Pull away accessible strands without forcing the bars. If the head has a removable brush component, follow the model-specific release and washing instructions rather than applying water to the motor housing.

Check whether MAX mode or a motorized tool was used for most of the session; both can consume power faster than light Eco cleaning. Clear blockages, empty the bin and clean the filters as directed. If runtime remains abnormal after a full charge and clean filters, contact Dyson support rather than opening the battery pack.
Best Value
- Powerful Dyson suction for versatile deep cleaning. Without the cord..Charge time : 3.5 hrs. Suction Power (Boost Mode) : 151 AW.
Weak suction
Empty the bin, inspect the wand and floorhead for obstructions, and verify that every connection is fully seated. A clogged filter or packed inlet can restrict airflow. Do not judge suction from the maximum Air Watts number alone; airflow at the floorhead depends on the complete system and operating mode.
The dock does not empty the vacuum
Ensure the handheld unit is seated correctly, the dock has power and the liner is installed. Check for a full liner or debris blocking the transfer path. If the handheld runs normally but the station still fails, use the vacuum’s manual emptying procedure and consult regional support.
Charging does not begin
Test the outlet with another device, reseat the charger and check the dock contacts for dust. Allow the battery to cool if the vacuum has just run in MAX mode. Persistent charging faults require service; do not attempt to disassemble the battery.

Compatibility of tools, batteries and replacement parts
Dyson’s UK announcement says accessories across the V8, V8 Cyclone and V10 Konical are interchangeable. That is a broad manufacturer statement, not proof that every tool, filter, battery or replacement component fits every submodel or regional package.
Before buying a replacement, identify the exact model name and part number printed on your vacuum or its documentation. Confirm compatibility for the cleaner head, battery, filter, charger and dock separately. A connector that appears physically similar may not provide the correct electrical or software support.
How the V10 Konical compares in a buying decision
The available evidence does not provide controlled measurements against competing cordless vacuums, so a responsible comparison should use a checklist rather than a winner claim.
| Comparison axis | Questions to ask | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Cleaning | Were carpet and hard floors tested with the same debris and number of passes? | Different test methods can make raw pickup percentages misleading. |
| Battery | What runtime is available with the actual floorhead in Eco, Medium and MAX? | A maximum no-load figure may not match whole-home use. |
| Ergonomics | What is the measured weight in cleaning position, and how balanced is it? | Hand and wrist fatigue depends on balance as well as the scale number. |
| Capacity and emptying | How often must the bin or liner be emptied, and how dusty is the process? | Convenience can matter as much as nominal volume. |
| Hair management | What hair length, quantity and floor type were used in the test? | Anti-tangle results are highly condition-dependent. |
| Accessories | Which tools are included in the exact regional price? | A lower headline price may omit a needed head or dock. |
| Ownership cost | What do filters, batteries, liners and replacement heads cost and how available are they? | Consumables determine long-term value. |
| Availability | Is the desired docked bundle in stock in your country today? | Regional bundles and launch timing can differ. |
Who should buy the Dyson V10 Konical?
- Choose it if you have long hair or shedding pets. The conical head is specifically designed to reduce hair wrapping, and TechRadar reported favorable anti-tangle performance in its hands-on review.
- Choose it if cordless handling is your priority. The stick format and included wall dock make quick, room-by-room cleaning straightforward.
- Choose the Auto-empty Dok only if you have space for it. Its automatic transfer and tool storage are convenient, but the station is larger and may not suit a compact apartment.
- Be cautious if you need independently verified comparisons. The published suction, runtime and filtration figures are manufacturer specifications, and no robust multi-model test was established for this product.
- Be cautious if your budget is tight. TechRadar described the package as premium-priced, and a docked bundle can cost more than the vacuum-only configuration.
- Check regional stock before planning around the dock. The US page showed a coming-soon label in one context, so availability cannot be assumed.
Final assessment
The Dyson V10 Konical is best understood as a feature-focused cordless vacuum rather than a proven category champion. Its conical floorhead targets a real maintenance annoyance, the included tools cover common household jobs and the optional Auto-empty Dok can simplify emptying and storage. Against those benefits, you must accept a large station, configuration-dependent availability and manufacturer-only headline performance figures.
For a home with long hair, frequent quick cleans and enough room for the dock, the V10 Konical is a sensible candidate. For buyers who prioritize the smallest possible storage footprint, the lowest price or independently measured superiority, compare the exact bundle and test data before committing.
