What controls can you use on PC and Xbox?
The table separates the Roblox platform defaults from Dungeon Quest-specific actions. A default is a reasonable first input to try where applicable, not proof that every Dungeon Quest screen or action supports it.

On PC, the documented baseline combines keyboard movement with mouse camera control. Hold the right mouse button while moving the mouse to turn the camera; use the mouse wheel, or the listed I and O inputs, to change zoom. Shift is not a required movement or combat key. That is a platform-level interaction, not confirmation that every Dungeon Quest attack is a tool action or that the trigger activates a particular ability. How do I change the controls?

If you do find a working control screen, make one change at a time and test it before changing more. That makes it easier to tell which setting caused a difference. If there is no visible control option, or a button does not respond, do not assume you have missed a universal setting: the available reports specifically leave current availability uncertain.

A July 2022 Dungeon Quest forum support answer instructed players trying to restore touch controls to open the main or pause menu, choose Options, select Control, and set “Controller HUD” to Off. Treat this as historical guidance rather than a guaranteed current path: menus may have changed since then.
The phrase “Controller HUD” is part of that older instruction. It should not be mistaken for proof of a currently available Xbox controller layout or for a general control-remapping switch. If you are trying to restore touch controls and see the same option in your live client, the historical steps may help you identify it. If the menu differs, use the labels currently displayed rather than trying to force an outdated path.
Why a controller option may not work
In a May 2025 forum discussion, a player reported using a controller in Dungeon Quest. A support participant suggested looking under Options > Controls for controller defaults and remapping, but could not verify the feature and said it might have been removed in an Android update. A later reply said selecting the button did nothing; the support participant then acknowledged that the option had likely been removed with an Android update. That discussion is useful as a warning about version differences, not as a definitive diagnosis for other devices. It does not prove that an Xbox or PC control option was removed, nor does it establish why a particular button might fail. If you are using another client, check its own options and visible prompts. On Xbox, use the controls or button prompts displayed by the running game for actions beyond Roblox’s general defaults. If you are playing on PC with a gamepad, connect it and check whether the client responds to the thumbsticks and buttons. Do not infer the combat map from a guide for Dungeon Quest Reborn or from a platform-level default.
A useful way to check basic recognition is to test movement and camera response first, since Roblox documents the primary thumbstick for movement and the secondary thumbstick for camera control. If those respond, that indicates the game is reacting to at least some gamepad inputs; it still does not identify the correct button for an attack or ability. Check the live game for action prompts, and avoid relying on an unverified button chart for the rest of the controls.

This gives you two distinct steps: opening the inventory and assigning an ability are described, but activating the assigned ability is not. Use the blue bag button described by the wiki to reach the inventory if it is present in your current PC interface, then select the ability you want to place in a slot. The game’s prompt should tell you when it is asking for an assignment. That assignment prompt is not itself proof of the key or button needed later to activate the slot.
Because the inventory instructions come from a volunteer-maintained wiki, confirm that the button and screen match what you see in the live client. If the blue bag is missing or in a different location, rely on the current interface rather than assuming the older wiki description must match. For PC, the documented inputs give you direct keyboard movement and mouse camera handling. For gamepad, the documented baseline uses thumbsticks.
