Spoiler alert: Mistik, the goblin assassin rogue played by Christian Navarro, dies during combat in Episode 5 of Dungeon Masters: World of Warcraft. The official Dungeons & Dragons actual-play campaign continues with the Afterlife guild pursuing its Northrend mission without him.
Who died in Dungeon Masters: World of Warcraft?
Mistik is the character who dies. He is a Goblin Assassin Rogue portrayed by actor Christian Navarro. Mistik belongs to Afterlife, an underdog Horde guild whose members are trying to earn enough trust to reach Northrend and join the war against the Lich King.
The other named Afterlife heroes are Greave, Jandi, Talonia and Rokkar. Greave is a Forsaken death knight played by Neil Newbon, and Navarro said he wished Mistik and Greave had more time to work through their shared pain before Mistik’s final fight.
How Mistik dies in Episode 5
Mistik falls in a combat encounter five episodes into the campaign. The available reporting describes this as a death inside the show’s tabletop story, not as a change to the canon of Blizzard’s World of Warcraft MMORPG. Afterlife must therefore continue its attempt to reach Northrend without the guild’s rogue assassin.

Navarro told Collider that he approached every turn hoping Mistik would survive, then accepted the character’s fate when the odds became overwhelming: “I played every turn with the intention of surviving, but once it became clear the odds were overwhelming, I understood that the most honest way to experience the moment was to let go of that instinct.”
He characterized the ending as “unexpectedly peaceful, even fulfilling,” despite taking place in combat. His hope is that Mistik is remembered as someone who fought beside his friends and chose to die a hero among them.

What the death means for the campaign
Character death gives this actual-play campaign consequences that cannot be reset between episodes. The loss removes a defined combat role from Afterlife while the guild is still working toward its larger objective: gaining access to Northrend and joining the Lich King-era war effort.

It also leaves Mistik’s relationship with Greave unresolved. Navarro’s comments frame that unfinished connection as part of the character’s legacy rather than a storyline that received a complete farewell. Future episodes can show how the surviving members remember him and adjust to the tactical and emotional gap he leaves behind.

What is Dungeon Masters: World of Warcraft?
The series is an official Dungeons & Dragons actual-play campaign set in Azeroth during the Lich King-era conflict. Jasmine Bhullar is the Dungeon Master. The show is tied to the D&D: World of Warcraft tabletop gameplay expansion and its play-along materials, allowing viewers to follow a licensed setting through a D&D-style adventure rather than through the video game itself.
The campaign premiered on September 23, 2026. New episodes are scheduled weekly on Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. Pacific on D&D’s YouTube and Twitch channels. Check the channel listings for the latest episode status, since a scheduled time does not by itself confirm that a particular episode has already aired in every region.
