Droid Fusion combines three droids into one. The community recipe references currently list 17 named, fusion-exclusive droids, from the Rare WHL-EX to the Mythic X-ONK. Fusion is reported to unlock at Rebirth 3 after patch v1.27 (August 22, 2026), but that requirement comes from a player-maintained FAQ, so verify the station and requirement in your current game.
This guide lists every fixed recipe, explains how input variants determine the result, shows which ingredients overlap, and gives a safe process for spending droids that may also be needed for rebirth.
What Droid Fusion does
Fusion consumes three input droids and creates one output. The named recipes are fixed combinations: when the three required droids are present, the matching fusion-exclusive result is selected before generic Fusion outcomes. Ingredient slot order does not matter, so you can place the required droids in any order.

The 17 named results are grouped into Rare, Epic, Legendary and Mythic tiers. Each also has a role—Worker, Astromech or Battle—which can help you choose between recipes when your collection is limited. The recipe count and combinations below come from community-maintained Droid Tycoon references rather than an official game ledger, and may change after an update.

How to unlock Fusion
A Droidex FAQ reports that Fusion was introduced in patch v1.27 on August 22, 2026 and becomes available at Rebirth 3. Treat that as a reported requirement, not a guaranteed rule for every later build. If your game shows a different threshold, the current Fusion Lab and its unlock message take precedence.
The detailed Droidex guide was reviewed for version 1.33.0 on October 3, 2026. Droid Tycoon Tools says its table refreshes from a community spreadsheet. Those dates are useful for checking whether an apparent recipe error is actually a version change.
Rare fusion recipes

For WHL-EX, you need one ARG and two copies of MOUSE. ZRO-TEC uses two ID10 units and one 2BB. BTL-R is the only Rare recipe in this list that uses the BDX EXPLORER, B1 BATTLE and R9 combination.

ARG appears in both the Rare WHL-EX recipe and the Epic ARM-CORE recipe. If you have only one supply of ARG, decide which result fits your plan before opening the confirmation screen.

RO-TOR and QIK-BIT both use BB9, while N-UL and ORB-XL both use GUNRUNNER. GROUNDMECH is needed for both SCRP-R and QIK-BIT, so fusing it without checking your target can close off another Legendary or Epic option.

The Mythic recipes have several important conflicts. KX supports RIV-3T and X-ONK; RIC supports RIV-3T and AXI-POD; R7 supports FUS-3 and AXI-POD; LOADLIFTER supports LUG-G and LOW-MO; and B1 HEAVY supports N-UL, ARM-CORE and SRV-O.
Input variants determine the output variant
For a fixed recipe, the result takes the lowest variant among the three inputs. For example, two Rainbow inputs plus one Diamond input produce a Diamond result, because Diamond is the lower variant in that set. A single lower-variant droid therefore caps the output even when the other two inputs are better.

If you want a Rainbow version of a named result, every input must be Rainbow or higher according to the game’s available variant hierarchy. Do not assume that a high-tier majority overrides one weaker component.

Other Fusion outcomes
Three matching droids
Droidex describes a separate outcome in which three copies of the same droid at the same variant advance that droid by one variant. This is not one of the 17 named fixed recipes. Check the current Fusion Lab if newer variants or balancing changes affect the rule.
Generic rarity upgrades
Another described outcome is a generic rarity upgrade: the game can produce a random droid at the next rarity. Because the result is random, it should not be used as a substitute for a fixed recipe when you specifically want WHL-EX, X-ONK or another named droid.
Priority of fixed recipes
Fixed recipes are checked before generic outcomes. If your three inputs match a named combination, the fixed result should take priority under the documented rules. Still inspect the preview in the current Fusion Lab, especially after a version update.
Ingredients that appear in multiple recipes
Several droids are bottlenecks because they occur in two or three recipes. The overlap count below is based on the community recipe table.

The table distinguishes a droid used in two different recipes from a recipe that requires two copies. Both situations matter: a two-copy requirement can consume your entire stock even when the name appears in only one recipe.
A safe Fusion procedure
- Reach the reported unlock point. Progress to Rebirth 3, then look for the Fusion Lab. If it is not available, read the current unlock notice rather than relying on an older guide.
- Choose the target first. Decide whether you want a specific named droid, a higher variant of an existing droid, or a random rarity upgrade. These outcomes use different input logic.
- Check every planned recipe. Search the recipe list for each ingredient, with special attention to ARG, ID10, B1 HEAVY, GROUNDMECH and KX. Reserve droids needed for another target.
- Check progression requirements. Some ingredients may also be required for rebirth. Confirm that consuming them will not delay your next rebirth objective.
- Match the variants. Compare the three input variants and replace the lowest one if it would cap the output below your goal.
- Inspect the in-game preview. Confirm the displayed result is the intended fixed recipe. This is the best defense against a changed recipe, a spelling mismatch or an unexpected generic outcome.
- Confirm only when ready. Fusion consumes all three inputs. There is no reason to place scarce droids in the station merely to test a combination.
Common mistakes and how to avoid them
Using a lower variant by accident
Players often see two high-variant inputs and overlook the third. Because the minimum input controls the output variant, inspect every slot individually before confirming.
Spending an overlap ingredient
A droid such as KX or GROUNDMECH can serve more than one named result. Write down your preferred target order or keep one copy uncommitted until you have decided which recipe matters most.

The available references are fan-maintained and version-sensitive. Droid Tycoon Tools reports community-spreadsheet updates, and Droidex dates its detailed guide to v1.33.0. After a patch, compare the in-game preview with your saved recipe notes.

Confusing rarity with variant
Rarity determines the recipe’s named tier—Rare through Mythic—while the input-variant rule determines the version of that output. A Mythic recipe can still produce a lower variant if one ingredient is lower.
Forgetting that Fusion is destructive
The three inputs are consumed. Check both your recipe goals and any rebirth checklist before selecting the final confirmation control.
How to choose a first fusion
Use four decision points: whether you already own all required ingredients, how many other recipes need those ingredients, the result’s role and rarity, and whether the same droids are reserved for rebirth. A complete set with no overlap is generally the least disruptive choice. If two targets compete for one droid, choose the result that matches your immediate Worker, Astromech or Battle need and preserve the other ingredients.
For a high-rarity target, do not sacrifice variant quality merely to complete the recipe quickly. Farming or upgrading the weakest ingredient first can produce a better output than fusing immediately with mismatched variants.
Keeping the recipe list reliable
The 17 combinations in this guide are community-listed rather than an official statement from the game’s publisher. The references were current around October 3, 2026 and version 1.33.0, but a later patch can add, remove or alter a recipe. Keep the Fusion Lab open during the transaction and treat its preview as the final authority. If your preview disagrees with a listed combination, do not confirm until you understand whether the recipe or the required variant has changed.
