The Dreame X40 Ultra robot vacuum and mop was listed on Amazon for $499.99 on October 15, 2026, down from a stated $589.99 regular retail price. Android Authority described the offer as 15% off and the lowest price it had seen for the model in 2026. At this price, the X40 Ultra combines a manufacturer-rated 12,000Pa suction system with a dock that washes mop pads using hot water, dries them with hot air and refills the robot automatically. Its removable, liftable mop is intended to separate wet and dry cleaning, although carpet results depend on settings and carpet type.
What the $499.99 deal includes
The X40 Ultra is a fully automated vacuum-and-mop system rather than a robot vacuum that relies on manual mop rinsing. The robot maps rooms, accepts room or zone cleaning instructions in its app and can run on a schedule. After cleaning, it returns to the dock for servicing.

Dreame states: “X40 Ultra washes the mop with 70°C hot water*, effectively removing tough dirt from mop pads, saving you the effort.” The company’s footnote says the 70°C figure comes from Dreame Lab testing and that actual temperature can vary with environmental conditions.

How the mop and dock work
Hot-water washing and drying
When the robot returns, the dock washes the mop pads with hot water and then uses hot air to dry them. The dock also monitors dirt, can rewash the mop and can send the robot out to remop a floor when its cleaning logic determines that additional work is needed.
Keeping wet cleaning away from carpets
The mop can be lifted during a run and removed when you want vacuum-only cleaning. That design is intended to keep wet pads away from carpeted areas, but it is not a guarantee for every floor covering. Dreame advises avoiding medium- and high-pile carpets above 3mm when appropriate; use carpet and mop settings conservatively, and check the first few runs on your own flooring.

The headline 12,000Pa number indicates the suction level Dreame specifies for the machine. It should be treated as a product rating, not proof of a particular pickup rate on carpet, hard floors or pet hair. The X40 Ultra also uses extendable edge-cleaning hardware to reach closer to walls and room boundaries, while its liftable and removable mop supports mixed-floor cleaning.

Its 22mm obstacle-crossing specification may help it pass common thresholds and transitions, but real-world performance depends on the shape of the obstacle and the approach angle. Cables, socks and other loose items should still be cleared before scheduled runs.
App controls and setup
- Place the dock on a stable, accessible floor area with room for the robot to approach and leave.
- Fill the dock’s clean-water tank and install the supplied cleaning components according to the on-screen instructions.
- Use the app’s quick room-mapping function to create a floor map.
- Review room boundaries, then customize zones for vacuum-only, mop-only or combined cleaning.
- Set schedules for individual rooms or zones and choose carpet and mop behavior before the first unattended run.
- After initial cleaning, inspect thresholds, carpets and edges; adjust maps or no-go areas if the robot enters an unsuitable surface.
Is it worth buying at $499.99?
At the reported $499.99 price, the X40 Ultra is most compelling for households that want automated mop maintenance as well as scheduled vacuuming. The dock’s hot-water washing, drying, solution dosing, tank refilling and dirt-triggered remopping address the chores that make basic robot mops labor-intensive.
