DREADMOOR launches in Early Access for PC via Steam on November 9, 2026. Developed by Dream Dock and published by Digital Vortex Entertainment, it is a first-person fishing adventure set in a flooded, post-catastrophic world where fishing, salvage, boat upgrades and real-time monster combat are part of the same survival loop.
When and where DREADMOOR launches
The Early Access release is scheduled for November 9, 2026, on PC through Steam. Steam lists 12 interface languages. The developer has not announced a console version in the launch information available for this release.
DREADMOOR is being released as a paid Early Access game. Dream Dock says the Early Access price will be lower than the planned full-release price and may increase when the game leaves Early Access.

DREADMOOR is an atmospheric, first-person fishing adventure in a world where coastal regions have disappeared beneath the water. You captain a fishing trawler between settlements, submerged islands and ruined structures. Fishing is not a separate minigame: catches can be traded for money, while exploration provides resources for equipment, repairs and upgrades.

The setting combines maritime survival with horror. More than 100 species of dangerous and rare prey are planned, alongside mutated creatures that can attack on the water or on land. Scarce resources, nighttime threats and radiation or mutation themes make route planning and preparation as important as the catch itself.
How the gameplay loop works
- Travel between settlements and points of interest. Navigate flooded regions, islands and the remains of human infrastructure.
- Fish and experiment with bait. Skill-based fishing, catch value and species variety determine what is worth pursuing.
- Scavenge resources. Abandoned buildings, caves and shipwrecks contain materials and story discoveries.
- Sell catches and craft equipment. Trading funds progression, while gathered materials support tools and other equipment.
- Upgrade the trawler. Vessel improvements expand what you can reach and how effectively you can operate.
- Fight when exploration turns hostile. Combat takes place in real time, both aboard or near the boat and during on-foot exploration.
This structure gives the game several competing priorities: a valuable fishing run may require a dangerous detour, while spending resources on a boat upgrade can leave fewer supplies for equipment or combat.

What is included in Early Access
Dream Dock says the launch build is intended to contain a complete core gameplay loop, one major region, the original story and a wide variety of fish species and mutations. The developer describes the main systems as already in place, with Early Access focused on balance, polish and learning how players engage with the game.
That scope does not mean the launch build is the final version. Planned full-release additions include new game areas and adventures, additional fish species, new fishing mechanics and further boat upgrades. The developer currently expects the Early Access period to last approximately 6–12 months, although that is an estimate rather than a guaranteed release date.

Free DREADMOOR demo
A free Steam demo released on October 6, 2026, ahead of the Early Access launch. It has its own questline rather than simply opening a short slice of the main campaign.
The demo includes a remote settlement and surrounding islands, boat and on-foot exploration, fishing, scavenging, a meeting with a local engineer, ship upgrades and unsettling events that occur at night. It is the most direct way to check the controls and atmosphere before deciding whether the Early Access build suits you.

The minimum graphics tier targets older mainstream gaming hardware, while the recommended RTX 4060/RX 7600 class indicates that newer hardware is the safer choice for higher settings or a steadier experience. The developer has not supplied a target resolution, frame rate or detailed settings breakdown in the listed requirements.

Who should try the demo or Early Access version?
- Try the demo first if you want to test first-person movement, fishing controls, boat handling and the night-time horror atmosphere at no cost.
- Choose Early Access if you are comfortable with balance changes, bugs and unfinished expansion content, and want the complete launch loop and original story in its first major region.
- Wait for full release if you prefer a broader world with the planned additional regions, fishing mechanics, fish species and boat upgrades already integrated.
The central trade-off is clear: the November build is designed to be playable as a complete core experience, but its world and systems will continue to expand during the estimated six-to-twelve-month development period.
