How to start the quest
Find Isla at the Norgandian Settlement
Travel to the Norgandian Settlement in Norgan and look for Isla. If she offers the request, accept it and read the resulting objective in the quest log. The settlement is the reliable anchor for the quest; the exact prerequisite is less reliable than the prompt shown in your own save.
If Isla does not offer the request
- Confirm that you are at the Norgandian Settlement rather than another settlement in Norgan.
- Check the quest log for “A Direwolf Delicacy” or an objective involving Isla and the hounds.
- Advance other active story or regional objectives, including “Rumbles in the North” if it is available, then return and speak with Isla again.
- Pass time only when the game gives you a reason to do so; the available guides do not establish a universal unlock schedule.
These checks avoid treating one walkthrough’s condition as a guaranteed rule for every version or progression state.
Step-by-step walkthrough
1. Accept Isla’s request
Speak with Isla and accept the quest. Keep the objective active so the game can update it when you provide the offering. If the conversation does not start the quest, resolve the local quest-log state first rather than repeatedly handing random items to her.
2. Obtain a Snowdeer Bone
Snowdeer are native to Norgan and are described as common across the region, although the bone itself is reported as a rare item. VGC suggests leaving the Norgandian Settlement toward the north and following the path beside the southern edge of the river. Use that route as a search area, not as a guaranteed spawn point.

When you find a Snowdeer, defeat it and examine the body for loot. The available guidance does not promise that every Snowdeer will drop a Snowdeer Bone, so you may need to search more than one animal. Keep checking the loot directly; do not assume that an ordinary hide, meat or another bone has fulfilled Isla’s request.
3. Choose whether to test other offerings
If you want to solve the request without looking up the item, you can present potential offerings to Isla. VGC reports that an incorrect offering has no consequence and that Isla provides a hint after a failed attempt. Repeated attempts eventually reveal the correct answer. This makes experimentation a legitimate option rather than a risky gamble.
For the fastest route, skip experimentation and bring the Snowdeer Bone directly. For players who enjoy discovering quest solutions in-game, use Isla’s hints and treat each failed offering as information. There is no reported need to reload a save after a wrong item.

Return to Isla at the Norgandian Settlement with the Snowdeer Bone in your inventory. Select the hand-over option when the conversation presents it. If the game does not recognize the item, verify that you have the bone itself and not a different Snowdeer drop or a similarly named food item.

5. Pass time and return
After delivery, the quest requires a later check-in. NightlyGamingBinge says to wait and then return, while other walkthroughs describe a full in-game day. The exact universal duration has not been confirmed, so treat “one full day” as a guide-specific instruction rather than a guaranteed timer.
Use an available in-game method to pass time, then speak with Isla again. If completion dialogue is unavailable, pass additional time and check the settlement once more. Also confirm that the Snowdeer Bone was actually accepted; waiting before the delivery is complete will not advance the objective.
6. Collect the completion rewards
When Isla’s final dialogue becomes available, finish the conversation and verify the reward notification and inventory. The reported reward set is 20,000 XP, a Hound’s Scent Pouch and three Beast-Steaks.

The XP is the clearest reason to finish if your character can benefit from progression. The pouch and steaks add material value, but the available guides do not establish their sell value, duration, effects or rarity. Do not assume that the food name difference indicates an additional reward; it may simply be inconsistent guide terminology.

- You are already in or near Norgan and can search the river-side path without a major detour.
- You want the reported 20,000 XP or the listed pouch and food.
- You prefer to resolve side quests before leaving the region.
- You are comfortable passing time and making a return trip to the Norgandian Settlement.
Postpone it when
- You are carrying a time-sensitive objective and cannot spare a second visit.
- Your current route is far from Norgan and the reward is not useful to your immediate build.
- You want to wait until Snowdeer are easier to locate during your normal exploration.
Postponing is a convenience choice, not a consequence-based warning. The available information does not identify a failure penalty for delaying the request. Likewise, no evidence establishes a competing quest route or an alternative reward path that would make completion harmful.

Isla has no quest dialogue
Verify the settlement, inspect the quest log, and progress nearby objectives. “Rumbles in the North” is one reported prerequisite, but conflicting guides mean it should be treated as a possibility rather than a universal requirement.

The Snowdeer Bone is not dropping
Search beyond one animal. Snowdeer are described as common in Norgan, but the bone is described as rare and no source guarantees a drop from every kill. Follow the path north of the settlement along the river’s southern edge, then examine each defeated Snowdeer’s body.
The game rejects the item
Check the name in your inventory. Isla wants a Snowdeer Bone specifically. A different bone, meat item or unrelated Snowdeer material will not necessarily satisfy the objective.
The quest does not complete after delivery
Make sure the hand-over conversation finished, pass time, and return to Isla. If a full in-game day does not trigger the dialogue, wait longer and check again because the exact duration is not settled by the current guides.
The reward name differs from a walkthrough
Compare the actual reward screen rather than relying on guide wording. In particular, one guide says Beast-Steaks while another says Dragon Beast-Steaks. That naming discrepancy is unresolved, but it does not change the reported quantity of three pieces.
