To check whether your PC can run Dragon’s Dogma 2, compare its exact processor and graphics-card models with the current Steam requirements, then check Windows 11 64-bit, 16 GB of RAM, DirectX 12, and available storage. The minimum tier is intended for 1080p gameplay with an upscaler and the Prioritize Performance setting; it is not a guarantee of steady frame rates in every scene.
Dragon’s Dogma 2 PC requirements
The Steam listing gives these minimum and recommended specifications. Capcom’s FAQ, updated October 8, 2026, directs players to that listing for the current requirements, which can change. Check the Dragon’s Dogma 2 Steam listing before buying or upgrading.

The Steam listing separately identifies an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti or AMD Radeon RX 6800 as required to support ray tracing. That is a ray-tracing specification, not the minimum graphics tier for playing without ray tracing. These figures are published requirements and performance notes, not results from an independent benchmark test. Steam listing.

How to check your PC’s specifications
Check Windows, processor, and RAM
- Open Settings > System > About.
- Under Device specifications, note the processor, installed RAM, and system type. The system type should show a 64-bit operating system.
- Under Windows specifications, check the Windows edition and version. The game lists Windows 11 (64 bit). Microsoft’s Windows device information guide covers these details.
Check storage and available space
- Open Settings > System > Storage to see your drives and available space.
- Confirm whether the game’s installation drive is an SSD. Steam recommends an SSD, but its listing does not specify a required capacity or drive interface.
Check DirectX
- Search Windows for dxdiag and open the DirectX Diagnostic Tool.
- On the System tab, find the DirectX version. The game specifies DirectX 12. Microsoft explains how to check it in its DirectX version guide. Windows 10 and 11 include the latest DirectX version available for that Windows version.
Identify the graphics card
Find the exact graphics-card model in Windows graphics settings or device information, then verify the model with your PC or graphics-card manufacturer if needed. Compare the dedicated GPU—not just an integrated graphics name—with the Steam requirement. The Steam minimum names a GTX 1660 or RX 5500 XT with 8 GB VRAM; do not assume a card with a similar name or less VRAM qualifies.

How to interpret the requirements
- Minimum is a threshold, not a performance guarantee. Steam says frame rates can drop when processing load is high, even with its stated 1080p, upscaler, and Prioritize Performance conditions.
- Recommended is a higher CPU and GPU tier, not more RAM. Both rows specify 16 GB RAM, while their processor and graphics models differ.
- Laptop graphics need extra care. Capcom warns that mobile GPUs may perform worse than regular GPUs even when their names appear to match a listed tier. Onboard graphics and devices that share VRAM with system memory are not guaranteed. Check your laptop’s exact GPU and look for performance evidence for that specific device before purchasing the game. See Capcom’s Steam FAQ.
- An SSD recommendation is not a shopping specification. The listing gives no required capacity or interface, so it does not establish which particular drive you need.
If the game runs poorly after changing graphics settings
Capcom cautions that the game may not run properly when its graphics settings exceed the PC’s capabilities. Its FAQ documents a configuration reset through Steam:
- Close the game.
- In Steam, open the game’s Properties, then select Installed Files > Browse.
- Rename
config.initoconfig_backup.ini. - Copy
config_default.iniand name the copyconfig.ini. - Launch the game again.
This restores the documented default configuration; Capcom does not present it as a fix for every performance or launch problem. See the Capcom FAQ.
