World of Slime is designed for online multiplayer: its Steam pages describe a casual adventure MMORPG where you explore with friends, and the product is labeled both “Multi-player” and “MMO.” SteamDB lists full controller support, including DualSense controllers over USB. Cross-save is not documented on the Steam or SteamDB pages currently available, so you should not assume that progress will move between computers or future platforms.
The information is still prerelease. The Steam demo launched on August 26, 2026, while the complete game is planned for Q4 2026; features and compatibility can change before launch.
What multiplayer does World of Slime actually offer?
TEAM42’s Steam description calls World of Slime “a casual adventure MMORPG where you explore with your friends.” The demo and full-game listings both use the “Multi-player” and “MMO” labels. Those are the clearest indications that playing with other people is a core part of the design rather than an optional experiment.

The available description specifically mentions cooperative exploration with friends. That points to online sessions in which players meet in the game world, travel together and take part in shared activities. The listing also mentions online interaction and player-versus-player (PvP) activity, so the multiplayer design is broader than a strictly private two-player campaign.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
“Co-op” here should therefore be read as online cooperative play. Nothing in the checked Steam or SteamDB material confirms couch co-op, split-screen, LAN play or an offline mode. If you need two people on one television or one PC, wait for an explicit developer statement instead of assuming that the MMO label includes local multiplayer.
Can you play with friends in the demo?
The released Steam demo carries the same multiplayer and MMO classifications as the planned full product. That makes online interaction and cooperative exploration part of the demo’s advertised feature set. The listing does not provide a player-count limit, matchmaking rules, party-size limit or details about whether every region or activity is available in a shared session.
When arranging a session, use the demo’s own in-game party or social menus and check that every participant is running the same current build. A demo can change independently of the full release, and a feature shown in an early build is not a promise that its interface or limits will remain identical at launch.

Does World of Slime work with a controller?
Yes. SteamDB records Full Controller Support for both the full-game app and the demo. That label means a gamepad is intended to cover normal play rather than being limited to a few menu actions or requiring a mouse and keyboard for essential functions.
DualSense support and the USB limitation
SteamDB separately lists DualSense Controllers (USB Only) for both app entries. A PlayStation 5 DualSense should therefore be connected with a USB cable when you play through Steam. The listing does not establish Bluetooth support for DualSense, so a wireless connection should not be treated as guaranteed.
“Full Controller Support” does not identify every compatible model. It confirms broad gamepad support on Steam; it does not, by itself, certify a particular Xbox pad, third-party controller, arcade stick or accessibility device. Xbox compatibility is not explicitly named in the available listing. Many PC controllers can work through Steam’s input layer, but that is a platform-level possibility, not a World of Slime-specific confirmation.

Basic Steam setup
- Connect the controller before launching the demo. For a DualSense, use a data-capable USB cable rather than a charge-only lead.
- Open Steam, choose Library, select the World of Slime demo and verify that Steam detects an active controller.
- From the game’s Steam properties, open the Controller section and leave the default per-game setting enabled first. Change Steam Input only if the game does not respond or buttons are mapped incorrectly.
- Start the game and test movement, camera control, confirmation, cancellation and any menu navigation before joining friends.
- If inputs are duplicated or a button performs the wrong action, close other remapping tools, reconnect the pad and test the opposite Steam Input setting. Use one input-management layer at a time.
The exact menu wording can change as Steam updates its client. The important distinction is that the game advertises native full controller coverage, while Steam Input is a troubleshooting or translation layer rather than evidence of an officially named controller model.
Common controller problems
- No response: confirm that Steam sees the device before launching the game, then reconnect it and restart the demo.
- DualSense works in menus but not in play: try a different USB data cable and remove Bluetooth pairing from the test so the connection matches the documented USB requirement.
- Wrong button prompts: disable overlapping remappers and test the game’s own default layout before importing a community configuration.
- Two controllers appear as one: disconnect virtual devices and leave only the physical pad you intend to use while diagnosing the problem.
Does World of Slime have cross-save?
Cross-save is not confirmed. The Steam and SteamDB pages checked for this title do not document cloud-save synchronization, account linking, cross-progression or a way to transfer a character between devices. That is an evidence gap, not proof that the feature will never be added, but it means there is no reliable basis for promising portable progress.
What “cross-save” would need to cover
Players often use cross-save to mean several different systems:

- Upgraded Exquisite Craftsmanship: With an aluminum alloy housing and metal connector, the usbc to usb adapter is extremely durable and sturdy. Rigorously tested to withstand more than 10,000 times of plugging and unplugging, ensuring long-lasting performance
- Broad Compatible: The usb c to usb adapter widely supports all USB C/ USB A devices like laptops, tablets, cellphones, car chargers, and phone chargers. Such as compatible with MacBook Pro/Air 2023/2022, Thunderbolt 4/3 Devices,Apple MagSafe Watch 9/8/7/SE/Ultra, iPad Pro 2022/2021, Samsung Galaxy S23/S20/S10, and iPhone 17/16/15 Pro. Plug and play
- Please Note: To reach 10Gbps speed, keep the cable under 3.3 ft. For USB A Male to USB C adapters, try flipping the USB C connector. USB C Male to USB A adapters support bidirectional 10Gbps transfer within 3.3 ft
- Steam Cloud: synchronizes files between computers using the same Steam account. It does not automatically create a shared save between unrelated platforms.
- Cross-progression: stores a character or inventory on a developer account so progress follows you to another supported platform.
- Account linking: connects a platform identity to a game account, which may be required before progression can be shared.
None of those mechanisms is described in the available World of Slime listings. Do not delete a local save, switch computers immediately after a long session or purchase a second version expecting your character to appear there. Until TEAM42 or a platform listing specifies the system, treat each installation as dependent on its own supported save process.
PC, Mac and possible mobile versions
The available information does not establish cross-save between PC and Mac, nor does it confirm a mobile edition. A future release on another device could add account-based progression, but that would be a new, explicitly announced feature. The absence of documentation applies equally to moving a save from the Steam demo to the full game; no transfer rule is stated.

|---|---|---|---|---|
| Steam demo | Released August 26, 2026 | “Multi-player” and “MMO”; online interaction, PvP and cooperative exploration are described | SteamDB: Full Controller Support; DualSense Controllers (USB Only) | Not documented |
| Full game | Planned for Q4 2026; not yet released | “Multi-player” and “MMO” | SteamDB: Full Controller Support; DualSense Controllers (USB Only) | Not documented |
Because the full game has not launched, the labels are a statement of the planned product rather than a final compatibility test. A release build can add, remove or revise networking, input and save features. Check the final Steam page and any announcement from TEAM42 before making a purchase or committing to a platform change.
What to verify before playing with friends
Use this checklist to avoid the three most common misunderstandings—local versus online play, generic controller support versus a named model, and cross-save versus a single-platform save.
- Choose the right multiplayer expectation. Plan for an online MMO-style session. Do not assume split-screen or same-device co-op.
- Match the build. Everyone should install the same demo or, after launch, the same full-release version and update it before forming a party.
- Prepare the controller connection. A DualSense should be wired by USB. For another pad, confirm that Steam detects it and test controls before inviting friends.
- Protect your progress. Until a cloud or account-transfer feature is explicitly documented, keep the original installation and local save intact when moving to another computer.
- Recheck at launch. The Q4 2026 target is a plan, not a guarantee that every prerelease behavior will remain unchanged.
How World of Slime compares with the setup you may want
Your ideal setup determines which unanswered details matter most:

| Gamepad play on Steam | Full Controller Support is listed for the demo and full-game app. | Whether a specific third-party model receives the layout and prompts you need. |
| Wireless DualSense | DualSense is named, with USB-only support listed. | Bluetooth support, which is not established by the current listing. |
| One character on multiple devices | No cross-save, cloud-sync or account-linking method is documented. | A final developer or platform statement describing supported transfers. |
Bottom line for the current Steam version
World of Slime is presented as an online, friend-focused MMORPG, and the demo already advertises multiplayer features. A controller is a supported way to play, with full controller coverage listed and DualSense support specifically called out for USB connections. Cross-save is the unresolved part: no current Steam or SteamDB documentation promises that progress will follow you to another device or platform. Treat the August 26, 2026 demo and the planned Q4 2026 release as evolving versions, and verify final networking, controller and save details at launch.
