No documented cross-save or cross-progression exists for Walk The Frog between Nintendo Switch, iPhone/iPad, and Android as of October 18, 2026. The Switch edition supports Nintendo’s Save Data Cloud backup for Nintendo Switch Online members, but the published listings do not say that the iOS or Android editions can read that backup. They also provide no shared-account sign-in, transfer code, or other save-migration procedure. Plan on separate progress for each platform unless the developer announces a change.
What the cross-save answer means
Cross-save means that one platform can upload a game’s progress and another platform can download and continue it. Cross-progression is the broader term: it can include shared unlocks, achievements, inventory, or chapter progress even when the game is installed on different devices.
For Walk The Frog, the available platform descriptions establish separate releases, not a shared progression service. Buying the game on a phone does not, on the published evidence, import a Switch save. Starting on iOS or Android likewise does not create a save that the Switch version is documented to recognize.
This is a statement about documented support, not a claim that a future patch could never add it. The current store pages and catalog information contain no cross-save instructions, account-linking flow, or transfer-code process.

The Nintendo store description calls the game a cozy puzzle adventure in which players “Help Froggo solve cozy sticky note puzzles and find his best friend Buddy!” Apple’s listing calls it a “cozy, heartwarming point-and-click adventure with simple, unique drag-and-drop puzzle mechanics.” Those descriptions identify the same game, but neither is a promise of shared saves.
Why Switch Save Data Cloud is not cross-platform save
Nintendo’s Save Data Cloud label addresses backup and restoration for a compatible Switch game. It does not automatically make a save file available to iOS or Android applications. A mobile version would need a supported way to authenticate the same account, upload or download a compatible save, and translate the save data between platforms. None of those pieces is described in the published Walk The Frog listings.
A cloud backup can therefore solve a different problem: recovering a Switch save after replacing or resetting a Switch console. It does not, by itself, grant a phone access to that backup. Nintendo’s listing specifically says that a Nintendo Switch Online membership is required for Save Data Cloud backup; it does not say that the membership connects to the Apple App Store or Google Play editions.

Can you continue a Switch save on your phone?
Not through any documented feature available on October 18, 2026. The practical assumption is that a phone installation starts its own progression. If preserving an existing run matters, choose the platform on which you expect to finish the 18-level, three-chapter adventure before buying another copy.
What would count as real support?
Look for one or more of these concrete signs in a future update or official support article:
- An account system that is explicitly shared between Switch, iOS, and Android.
- A “link account,” “cross-save,” “cross-progression,” or “transfer save” option in the game.
- A one-time transfer code or QR procedure with instructions for both the source and destination device.
- Release notes that name all three platforms and explain which progress types synchronize.
- A store description or help page that says a Switch save can be restored on mobile, rather than merely mentioning cloud backup.
Without that language, an icon such as “cloud,” a generic online-services label, or a backup setting should not be treated as proof of cross-platform access.

How to choose a platform when your save must stay together

Prices are storefront figures recorded for 2026, not a guarantee that every country, tax jurisdiction, or later promotion will show the same amount. The iOS price is from Apple’s listing, the Android price is from the Google Play catalog record, and Pocket Gamer also reported a $6.99 mobile launch price on October 14, 2026.
Input and edition differences that affect a playthrough
The game is described as a point-and-click adventure built around drag-and-drop puzzles. On Switch, that experience is associated with a console edition and controller or console play. On iPhone, iPad, and Android, touch is the natural input method. The control difference does not imply a different save system; it simply affects which edition may feel more convenient for a given session.
All three editions are the same named adventure for the purposes of the cross-save question, but the listings do not promise that a chapter completed on one operating system will be marked complete on another. If you alternate platforms, record where you stopped rather than assuming the next device will know your location.

What about the Windows and macOS edition?
Steam lists a separate single-player Windows/macOS edition released May 21, 2026. Its feature list and description do not state cross-save with Switch or mobile. That edition is therefore another separate purchase and progression environment on the available evidence; its existence does not add a bridge between the three platforms in this question.
Steam uses the same general description of a “cozy, heartwarming point-and-click adventure with simple, unique drag-and-drop puzzle mechanics,” but shared wording and single-player status are not evidence of a shared account or synchronized save.
Before buying a second edition: a save-continuity checklist
- Identify your primary device. Decide whether the complete playthrough will live on Switch, Apple devices, or Android.
- Check the current store description and the game’s own menus. Search specifically for “cross-save,” “cross-progression,” “account,” “transfer,” or “restore.” A generic cloud-backup statement is not enough.
- Read the version notes for both editions. A feature added to one mobile build may not exist on Switch, and version 1.2 on Android does not by itself indicate synchronization.
- Keep your platform purchases separate in your expectations. The documented prices are per storefront listing; ownership of one edition is not described as unlocking another edition or its save.
- Use Switch cloud backup if you play on Switch and have Nintendo Switch Online. It is useful for restoring the Switch save, but do not use it as a reason to expect phone access.
- Do not delete the original save after moving platforms. Until an official transfer process exists, the original device is the only place where that progression is documented to reside.
Common misconceptions and failure cases
“I have Nintendo Switch Online, so my phone should see the save.”
Nintendo Switch Online is the requirement Nintendo gives for Switch Save Data Cloud backup. The iOS and Android listings do not say that those apps can authenticate to, browse, or restore a Nintendo cloud save.

“The mobile game costs the same, so it must share progress.”
The $6.99 mobile price reported for iOS and Android concerns purchase access, not save compatibility. Equal pricing does not establish an account relationship.
“The game is on three platforms, so cross-progression is implied.”
Platform availability and cross-progression are different features. The listings document editions for Switch, iOS, and Android, while omitting a shared progression service.
“A backup or device migration copied my app, so the save should transfer.”
Operating-system backup and app restoration can reinstall an application without converting a save into a format another platform understands. No official Walk The Frog transfer procedure is documented.
What could change the answer
The answer would change if Walk The Frog UG (haftungsbeschränkt) publishes a cross-platform account or migration feature and identifies the supported platforms. The most reliable places to verify a change are a new official store description, in-game account or transfer instructions, release notes, or a developer support announcement that names Switch, iOS, and Android together.
Check the exact version and date when evaluating a claim. A statement about a future update, a beta, or one mobile operating system does not automatically apply to the Switch release or to both mobile platforms. Until the documentation covers the destination platform and explains the transfer mechanism, keep saves isolated by platform.
