Yes. The Xbox Nano Controller works with Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One consoles through Xbox Wireless. It can also connect by Bluetooth to compatible Windows 10 and Windows 11 PCs, iPhones and other iOS devices, Android devices, tablets, and compatible smart TVs.

There are two important qualifications: Microsoft limits mobile and Bluetooth support to selected devices and operating-system versions, and the game or app must itself accept controller input. The controller includes an internal rechargeable battery, but the USB-C charging cable is sold separately.

Compatibility at a glance

Platform Connection What must be true Important limitation
Xbox Series X|S Xbox Wireless Pair the controller with the console Use Xbox Wireless rather than assuming Bluetooth pairing
Xbox One Xbox Wireless Pair the controller with the console Console compatibility does not make every accessory feature universal
Windows 10/11 PC Bluetooth A compatible Windows device and a controller-supporting game Bluetooth support is qualified by device and software version
iPhone and iOS devices Bluetooth A compatible iOS device and operating-system version Not every iPhone, iPad, or iOS game is guaranteed to work
Android devices Bluetooth A compatible Android device and operating-system version Phone-model and game support can vary
Compatible smart TVs Bluetooth A supported TV and an available controller-compatible service Cloud-play availability depends on region, TV model, and service eligibility

Microsoft’s product specification summarizes the arrangement this way: “Connect to XBOX consoles with XBOX Wireless. Wirelessly connect to Windows 10/11 PCs, tablets, iOS, Android, and compatible Smart TVs with Bluetooth.” That wording describes the connection technologies, not a promise that every device or application will accept the controller.

Does it work with Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One?

Yes. Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One are the controller’s native console targets, and the console connection uses Xbox Wireless. This is separate from the Bluetooth path used for phones and many PCs.

  • 【Back of Phone Suction Grip】Remove the adhesive film on the phone suction cup and stick it on the phone case. You can then fix the phone on any smooth surface, which is very convenient. (The phone suction cup cannot be removed and reused after being attached to the phone case. It is recommended to attach it to a regular phone case, not a valuable one.)
  • 【Widely Used】Our non-slip silicone phone sticky grip mount attaches to almost any flat phone case and make it compatible with common mobile phones such as iPhone and Android. You can shoot, watch videos or video calls in the kitchen, gym, dance studio, bathroom and other places.

  • 【Note】You can fix the phone suction cup on a smooth surface such as a mirror or glass. If necessary, wipe the suction cup with a damp cloth to obtain stronger suction. Before releasing your hand, make sure the phone is firmly fixed. (Not applicable to rough walls, wooden surfaces, and other uneven surfaces)

To connect it, turn on the console and controller, start the controller’s pairing mode, and use the console’s accessory-pairing control to complete the Xbox Wireless connection. Once paired, test it in the Xbox dashboard before opening a game. If the controller appears in the dashboard but not inside a particular title, the problem is more likely that game’s input support than the console connection.

Why the console connection method matters

Do not treat the console like a generic Bluetooth host. The published specification identifies Xbox Wireless for Xbox consoles, while Bluetooth is listed for Windows, mobile devices, tablets, and compatible smart TVs. If you are troubleshooting an Xbox connection, stay in the console’s Xbox Wireless pairing flow instead of searching the console’s Bluetooth settings.

Will it work on a Windows 10 or Windows 11 PC?

Yes, provided the PC has compatible Bluetooth support and the operating-system and device combination falls within Microsoft’s stated support. The product page specifically lists wireless Bluetooth connection to Windows 10/11 PCs.

Apple EarPods Headphones with USB-C Plug, Wired Ear Buds with Built-in Remote to Control Music, Phone Calls, and Volume
  • SUPERIOR COMFORT — Unlike traditional circular ear buds, the design of EarPods is defined by the geometry of the ear. Which makes them more comfortable for more people than any other ear bud–style headphones.
  • HIGH-QUALITY AUDIO — The speakers inside EarPods have been engineered to maximize sound output and minimize sound loss, which means you get high-quality audio.
  • BUILT-IN REMOTE — EarPods with USB-C plug also include a built-in remote that lets you adjust the volume, control the playback of music and video, and answer or end calls with a pinch of the cord.
  • COMPATIBILITY — Works with all devices that have a USB-C port.
  • INTEGRATED MICROPHONE — A built-in microphone precisely captures your voice while you’re on the phone, taking a FaceTime call, or summoning Siri — so you’re always heard loud and clear.

On Windows, open Settings > Bluetooth & devices, enable Bluetooth, place the controller in pairing mode, and choose it from the list of available devices. After Windows reports the connection, open a game that advertises controller support and check its input settings. Games can expose the controller under a generic gamepad name or apply their own button prompts.

PC checks before you pair

  • Confirm that the computer actually has Bluetooth. A desktop without built-in Bluetooth needs a compatible adapter.
  • Make sure the controller is not still connected to a console, phone, or another computer. A device that is actively connected elsewhere may not appear for a new pairing.
  • Charge the internal battery before troubleshooting wireless discovery. The charging cable is not included, so you need a suitable USB-C cable.
  • Check the game’s input options separately. A successful Windows pairing does not guarantee support in every game, launcher, emulator, or cloud-play app.

Does it work with iPhone and other iOS devices?

It can. iPhones and other iOS devices are supported over Bluetooth when the particular device and operating-system version are compatible. Microsoft’s Store qualification is explicit: “Mobile and Bluetooth: select devices and versions; some functionality not supported.”

To try it, open Settings > Bluetooth on the iPhone or iPad, put the controller into pairing mode, and select the controller when it appears under available devices. Then launch an iOS game that lists controller support. If the controller connects but has no effect in the game, verify the game’s controller settings rather than repeatedly pairing the hardware.

What the iPhone answer does not mean

It does not mean that every iPhone generation, iPad model, or iOS release is covered. The official wording intentionally limits support to selected devices and versions, and no universal phone-model list is established here. Compatibility can also differ between games: one title may accept a connected gamepad while another accepts only touch controls.

Can you use it on Android?

Yes, on compatible Android devices and versions, using Bluetooth. Android’s wide range of manufacturers and software builds makes the qualification especially important; a Bluetooth radio alone is not a guarantee that a specific handset will work.

Open the phone’s Bluetooth controls—commonly Settings > Connected devices > Pair new device, although labels vary by manufacturer—put the controller into pairing mode, and select it from the discovered-device list. After pairing, test it in an Android game or service that explicitly supports controllers.

If Android sees the controller but the game does not

That usually indicates an application-level limitation. Android can maintain a Bluetooth connection while a game ignores gamepad events, maps only some buttons, or requires controller support to be enabled in its own settings. Check the title’s input documentation and in-game controls before concluding that the controller is incompatible.

Do you need a cable?

You need a USB-C cable to charge the controller’s internal rechargeable battery. Microsoft’s specification states: “USB-C cable required for charging, sold separately.” The cable is therefore an additional purchase; it should not be assumed to be in the box.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

The published compatibility information does not establish universal wired gameplay, data-mode support, cable length, charging speed, or battery-life figures. Treat the USB-C requirement as a charging requirement unless the controller’s current manual or packaging explicitly documents another wired function. A cable that fits physically is not automatically a guarantee of data connectivity.

Charging decisions

  • Use a USB-C cable that is suitable for charging the controller.
  • Keep a cable available even if you plan to play wirelessly; the internal battery must eventually be recharged.
  • If the controller will not power on, charge it first, then retry pairing with the intended host.
  • Do not infer battery runtime from another controller model. No verified battery-life statistic is provided for this compatibility question.

How to connect it on each platform

The exact menu names can change with an operating-system update, but the process follows the same pattern: charge, select the correct wireless mode, pair with one host, and verify support in the software you intend to use.

  1. Charge the controller. Connect a USB-C charging cable and give the internal battery enough charge to power on. The cable is sold separately.
  2. Choose the host. For Xbox Series X|S or Xbox One, use the console’s Xbox Wireless pairing process. For Windows 10/11, iOS, Android, tablets, and compatible smart TVs, use Bluetooth.
  3. Start pairing mode. Use the controller’s pairing control as described by its current instructions. Keep the controller close to the host while it is being discovered.
  4. Open the host’s connection settings. On Windows, use Bluetooth & devices; on iPhone or iPad, use Bluetooth; on Android, use the device’s Bluetooth or Connected devices menu. TV menus differ by manufacturer.
  5. Select the controller. Tap or click its name in the available-device list and wait for the host to report a completed connection.
  6. Test a supported application. Start a game or cloud-play service known to accept controllers and check its control settings. Pairing alone cannot add controller support to software that lacks it.

Common problems and practical fixes

Symptom Likely cause What to try
The controller never appears It is not in pairing mode, the battery is low, or it is connected to another host Charge it, disconnect or turn off the previous host, restart pairing mode, and search again
It pairs, then immediately drops Low charge, distance, or another host reclaiming the connection Keep the devices close, charge the controller, and temporarily disable Bluetooth on nearby hosts
Windows connects but the game ignores input The game or launcher does not support controllers, or support is disabled Check the title’s controller setting and test another controller-compatible game
iPhone or Android cannot pair The handset or operating-system version may not be one of Microsoft’s selected compatible combinations Update the phone within its supported options, remove an old pairing entry, restart Bluetooth, and check the device-specific support information
The controller works on a phone but not an Xbox The console requires Xbox Wireless rather than the mobile Bluetooth path Repeat pairing through the Xbox console’s Xbox Wireless accessory flow
Only some buttons work The application has partial or nonstandard gamepad mapping Inspect the game’s control map; hardware pairing does not guarantee complete button support

What about smart TVs and Xbox cloud play?

The product specification includes compatible smart TVs in its Bluetooth list, but “compatible” depends on the TV model, software, service, and region. A television can discover the controller while a particular app still lacks gamepad support.

Xbox Wire reported on October 14, 2026, that Xbox is partnering with Samsung on a special Xbox Nano Controller and a two-month Game Pass Ultimate offer for new members who buy select Samsung TVs in the United States. The report says players in select regions can use Xbox cloud play through Samsung Gaming Hub after connecting the controller. This is a regional promotion and should not be read as universal cloud-play availability, a worldwide offer, or proof that every smart TV supports the same setup.

How to judge compatibility before buying

If your main device is a phone, the decisive question is not simply whether it has Bluetooth. Check the device and operating-system qualification, then confirm that the games or cloud service you use accept controllers. For a PC, confirm Windows 10 or Windows 11 support and Bluetooth availability. For an Xbox console, look for Xbox Wireless support rather than a Bluetooth-only specification.

Decision point Why it matters
Connection method Xbox consoles use Xbox Wireless; mobile devices and listed PCs use Bluetooth
Device and OS version Microsoft limits mobile and Bluetooth support to selected combinations
Charging arrangement The battery is internal, and a USB-C charging cable is sold separately
Game or app support A connected controller cannot make a touch-only or otherwise unsupported game accept gamepad input
Ergonomics The Nano form factor may suit smaller hands, but comfort is personal and should be checked against the controller’s dimensions and your grip
Regional cloud features TV-based cloud play and promotions can be limited by country, model, date, and eligibility

The practical verdict is platform-specific: Xbox consoles are supported through Xbox Wireless, while compatible Windows, iOS, Android, tablet, and smart-TV devices connect through Bluetooth. Verify the exact device, operating-system version, and game before relying on mobile compatibility, and budget for the separate USB-C charging cable.
