What eSIM support means on the Galaxy Z Flip3
Samsung’s US datasheet lists the Galaxy Z Flip3 5G with one Nano-SIM slot and eSIM capability, with functionality dependent on the carrier. Samsung’s worldwide support information also includes the Z Flip3, while noting that device and service availability vary by country and carrier. - Identify the handset. Confirm that it is a Galaxy Z Flip3 5G, then find its model and region variant in the phone’s Settings > About phone screen.
- Ask the carrier about that exact variant. Confirm eSIM activation is supported for your phone model, country or region, and account. A carrier’s general eSIM support does not establish compatibility with every regional Z Flip3 version.
- Look for the eSIM setup control. On a supported handset, open Settings > Connections > SIM manager > Add eSIM. QR code or carrier discovery: which setup should you use?
Use the method your carrier offers for your account and handset. QR-code setup requires a carrier-provided code; carrier discovery is an option only when it is available in the phone’s software and supported by the carrier. Neither option overrides regional or model-variant compatibility.

Why “Add eSIM” may be missing
If the SIM manager does not show Add eSIM, Samsung’s guidance points to carrier, region, and software version as factors in availability. Check the exact model variant and software, then ask the carrier whether that variant and account are eligible. Samsung does not specify one universal fix for every phone where the setting is absent.
