No. The Samsung Galaxy A53 5G does not support Samsung DeX, according to Samsung’s specifications. A USB-C-to-HDMI adapter, DeX dock, or cable cannot add DeX to the phone.
What Samsung says about DeX on the Galaxy A53
Samsung’s Galaxy A53 5G specifications explicitly list “Samsung DeX Support” as “No.” Samsung’s DeX-compatible device guidance also does not list the A53; its listed Galaxy A-series entry is the Galaxy A90 5G. The device list is regional, so check Samsung’s support page for your market if you need to confirm compatibility for a particular model. Why a USB-C adapter will not enable DeX
The A53 has a USB Type-C connector, but the specifications list USB 2.0, MHL as “No,” and Samsung DeX support as “No.” A USB-C port by itself does not establish video output or DeX compatibility. Samsung’s accessory guidance about connecting a compatible phone to a display does not mean a DeX Station, DeX Pad, or HDMI adapter can make the A53 work with DeX. DeX is different from screen mirroring
Samsung describes DeX as a PC-like experience on an external display. This compatibility answer is about running DeX mode; it should not be taken as a statement about every form of screen mirroring. The cited A53 specifications and DeX guidance do not establish that the A53 can mirror its screen to a particular TV or monitor, so check Samsung’s guidance for the exact connection method and display you intend to use. What to choose if you need DeX
If DeX is essential, choose a phone Samsung lists as compatible rather than buying display accessories for the A53. Samsung’s guidance includes the Galaxy S24, but compatibility and available connection methods can differ by exact model and region. Check the specific model’s local listing and confirm whether it supports the wired, wireless, or PC connection you need before purchasing. Samsung notes that wired DeX requires compatible hardware and an external display; requirements vary by device and connection method.
