Short answer: No. The Samsung Galaxy A37 does not support native wireless charging, and it does not provide a microSD card slot for expandable storage. Samsung lists the phone for wired USB Type-C Super Fast Charging of up to 45W in the United States, while storage must be selected from the built-in capacity offered for your region.

That means two decisions matter before you buy: choose an A37 configuration with enough internal storage for the phone’s lifetime, and plan to charge it with a compatible USB-C cable and power adapter rather than a charging pad.

Wireless charging is not supported

Samsung’s support guidance is explicit: “Wireless charging and PowerShare are not supported on the Galaxy A series model phones.” The statement applies to the Galaxy A37, so placing the phone on a conventional wireless charging pad will not start a charge. Samsung’s own Galaxy A37 support page is the authoritative reference for this feature.

PowerShare is Samsung’s name for reverse wireless charging, in which one device supplies power to another wirelessly. It is also unsupported on the A37. Therefore, the phone cannot use a charging pad as either a primary charger or a wireless power source for earbuds, watches or another phone.

What charging method does the A37 use?

The A37 charges through a USB Type-C port. Samsung lists wired Super Fast Charging at up to 45W for the US model. “Up to” is a maximum supported rate, not a promise that every charging session will run at 45W. The adapter, cable, temperature, battery level and regional model specification can affect the rate.

Samsung’s Spain and Canada product pages also identify USB Type-C, but charging specifications can vary by market. Check the page for the exact model sold in your country before purchasing a replacement adapter. The US figure should not automatically be applied to every international version.

How to buy the right charging accessories

  1. Confirm the regional model. Use Samsung’s local product page and note the model code, not just the “Galaxy A37” name.
  2. Choose a USB-C charging setup. The phone requires a wired USB Type-C connection; a wireless pad is not a substitute.
  3. Check the adapter’s stated output. If you want the fastest rate Samsung advertises for your region, match the charger specification to that regional listing.
  4. Use a suitable cable. A cable that physically fits is not necessarily rated for the highest supported charging speed.
  5. Treat a charging stand as a cable accessory. A stand can hold the phone while it charges through USB-C, but it does not make the A37 wirelessly chargeable.

If a pad appears not to work, that is expected behavior rather than a defective phone. Connect the USB-C cable directly to the handset and charger instead.

The Galaxy A37 does not have expandable microSD storage

Samsung does not list the A37 as a microSD-expandable phone. In its Galaxy A Series overview, Samsung identifies the Galaxy A17 and Tab A11+ as devices with expandable storage while presenting the A37 with its internal-storage configurations. The A37 is therefore best treated as a phone without a user-accessible microSD expansion slot.

Do not buy a microSD card expecting to insert it into the A37. Samsung’s published specifications do not establish a native card slot, and an external card reader or adapter should not be assumed to provide the same always-available storage as an integrated microSD slot. Select the internal capacity you need when ordering.

Published A37 storage configurations vary by region

Region or source Configuration information What it means for buyers
United States support page Storage configuration is not stated on the cited support page; it identifies wired charging up to 45W. Use the US retail listing for the exact capacity and memory combination.
Spain Samsung lists 128GB and 256GB options. The selected 128GB page shows 105.0GB available. Advertised capacity is not the same as space available to your files; the operating system and preinstalled software consume part of it.
Canada Samsung lists 128GB with 6GB of memory and 256GB with 8GB of memory. Both storage and memory vary by configuration, so compare the complete specification rather than capacity alone.

The regional figures come from Samsung’s Spain Galaxy A37 5G listing and Canada Galaxy A37 5G specifications. Samsung says configurations can differ by market, so a 128GB or 256GB option shown in one country is not a guarantee that the same combination is sold everywhere.

Why a 128GB phone shows less than 128GB available

The 105.0GB figure on Samsung’s Spanish 128GB listing is the usable space shown for that selected configuration, not a contradiction in the advertised capacity. Manufacturers describe storage using the device’s total capacity; the operating system, system partitions and preinstalled applications occupy part of it before you add photos, video, applications or downloads.

Use the available-space figure as a realistic starting point. If you record a lot of video, keep large games installed, download music or travel with offline media, the difference between a 128GB and 256GB model becomes more significant because there is no microSD slot to add capacity later.

How to choose the correct A37 before purchase

  1. Open the Samsung page for your country. Start with the local Samsung site rather than relying on a listing copied from another market.
  2. Read the complete configuration. Record internal storage, memory, model code and network variant. “Galaxy A37” alone does not identify every specification.
  3. Estimate your long-term storage needs. Include your existing photos and videos, application downloads, offline maps or entertainment, and the free space you want to retain for future updates.
  4. Choose capacity before checkout. Because microSD expansion is not listed for the A37, buying the smaller version cannot be corrected later with a card.
  5. Verify charging details. Confirm that the local specification identifies USB Type-C and note the stated wired charging limit for that model.
  6. Compare the complete price and specification. A lower-priced 128GB/6GB configuration and a higher-capacity 256GB/8GB configuration are different products, not merely different colors.

Retailer pages can combine photographs or specifications from multiple countries. If a seller claims that an A37 has wireless charging or a microSD slot, compare that claim with Samsung’s regional page and model code before paying.

What you can do after buying the phone

Check the actual storage

After setup, open the phone’s Settings application and search for “Storage.” Check the total and available figures before restoring every backup or downloading large files. This gives you a baseline for how much space the operating system and bundled software use on your particular regional model.

Plan for storage without a card slot

  • Keep important photos and videos backed up to a cloud service or computer you already trust.
  • Remove duplicate downloads and offline media when you no longer need them.
  • Review large applications and games periodically; uninstalling an unused title can recover substantially more space than deleting a few small documents.
  • Use the phone’s built-in storage-management tools to identify large files before the device becomes full.

These practices manage the A37’s internal storage; they do not turn an external drive or card reader into a guaranteed microSD replacement. If removable storage is a requirement, choose a different phone whose Samsung specification explicitly names microSD support.

Charge by cable consistently

Keep a USB-C cable and compatible wired adapter available at home, work and while traveling if you need convenient charging locations. A wireless pad may still hold the phone on a desk, but you must connect a cable to charge it. For the fastest result, follow the charging limit and accessory guidance published for your exact region rather than assuming that every 45W-rated accessory will deliver the same rate.

Common mistakes and how to avoid them

Mistake: assuming every modern Samsung phone charges wirelessly

Wireless charging is not a universal feature across Samsung’s range. The A-series support statement specifically excludes wireless charging and PowerShare. Check the model-specific support page instead of inferring capability from the phone’s age, price or appearance.

Mistake: confusing RAM with storage

Memory, often shown as 6GB or 8GB, helps the phone keep applications active. Internal storage, shown as 128GB or 256GB in the cited regional listings, holds applications, photos, video and other files. More memory does not create more file-storage space, and a larger storage option does not automatically mean more memory.

Mistake: treating advertised capacity as free space

The Spanish listing’s 105.0GB available figure demonstrates why the number printed on the box is not the amount you can immediately use. Compare available capacity where Samsung provides it, and leave room for system updates and your own files.

Mistake: buying the wrong regional model

Charging limits, memory combinations and storage choices can differ by country. Verify the model code and local specification before ordering from an importer or marketplace seller.

Mistake: expecting an accessory to add a native feature

A wireless charging pad cannot add a wireless receiver that Samsung does not support, and a microSD card cannot be inserted where the phone has no listed slot. Accessories can improve convenience around the supported USB-C connection, but they do not change the A37’s published hardware capabilities.

Who should choose 128GB or 256GB?

A 128GB A37 can suit someone who primarily streams content, takes moderate numbers of photos, regularly backs up media and does not keep many large games or downloads on the phone. The Samsung Spain page’s 105.0GB available figure is the useful reference point for that selected configuration, not the full nominal capacity.

A 256GB configuration is the safer choice for people who keep substantial photo and video libraries, download content for travel, install several large games or intend to keep the phone for years without relying on frequent cleanup. The Canadian listing pairs 256GB with 8GB of memory, while its 128GB option has 6GB; confirm whether your market sells the same pairing rather than assuming it does.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

There is no universally correct capacity. The deciding factor is how much data you expect to keep locally and how willing you are to back it up and remove it. Since the A37 is not listed with microSD expansion, capacity is a purchase-time decision.

Final buying checklist

  • Wireless charging: unsupported according to Samsung’s A-series support guidance.
  • PowerShare: unsupported on the A-series guidance covering the A37.
  • Wired charging: USB Type-C; the US support page lists up to 45W Super Fast Charging.
  • Expandable storage: no microSD expansion is listed for the A37.
  • Internal storage: regional listings include 128GB and 256GB, with memory combinations differing by market.
  • Before ordering: verify the local model code, capacity, memory and charging specification.

Bottom line

The Galaxy A37 is a wired-charging phone without the expandable-storage flexibility of a microSD slot. Buy the internal capacity that matches your expected use, and plan on a compatible USB-C charger rather than a wireless charging pad. Samsung’s regional product pages are the final authority because available configurations and charging details can change by market.
