The Pexar VivKeep Pro 12.5 uses a 4:3 display, a shape that can match photos captured or edited in 4:3 and reduce the need to crop or pad those images to fill the screen. It is not a universal fit for every phone photo: images with a different aspect ratio can still need cropping or display with empty space. Pexar lists a 2120 × 1590 touchscreen, 64GB of built-in storage, and Wi-Fi photo sharing through the Frameo app.
What does “built around the shape of a phone photo” mean?
It refers to the screen’s aspect ratio: the relationship between its width and height. The VivKeep Pro 12.5 has a 4:3 display. When a photo is also 4:3, it can fill the screen without a ratio mismatch that would otherwise prompt cropping or padding. Pexar describes this as a “Photo-native 4:3 display, less cropping” on its product page; that is the manufacturer’s positioning, not a guarantee that every phone image will fill the frame unchanged. Phone photos do not all have the same shape. A photo may be captured or edited to a ratio other than 4:3, so the frame may crop its edges or show unused space depending on how the image is fitted. What display and image-quality specifications does Pexar list?
Pexar lists the VivKeep Pro 12.5 as a 12.5-inch, 2120 × 1590-pixel touchscreen with 212 pixels per inch. Its other published display specifications are 1600:1 contrast, 100% sRGB, 400 cd/m² brightness, anti-glare glass, and a 170° viewing angle. Pexar also says the 12.5-inch frame provides about 67% more viewing area than a common 10-inch frame. That comparison is the manufacturer’s claim, not an independent measurement. Pexar product page
How do you send photos to the frame?
The Wi-Fi sharing workflow uses the Frameo app. Pexar describes setup as connecting the frame to Wi-Fi, scanning a code to link it with Frameo, and then sending photos. The company says users can invite family or friends to share and react, and that photos can be sent from anywhere. New content requires a connection to sync; photos already stored on the frame can continue displaying without Wi-Fi. Pexar product page

App sharing is not the only import option. Pexar lists SD card and USB-A or USB-C flash-drive support, plus USB-C computer transfer. External storage is sold separately, and the frame can use only one external-storage method at a time. How much storage does it have, and does it need to stay plugged in?
The frame has 64GB of built-in storage. Pexar estimates that this can hold up to 120,000 photos, assuming an average of 400 KB per photo; the actual count depends on file sizes. External storage can add another way to import or access photos, but the manufacturer does not specify a maximum supported capacity in the cited product information. Pexar product page

The VivKeep Pro 12.5 has no battery, according to Pexar, so it needs continuous power to operate. Its listed features also include a built-in speaker, sleep mode, automatic portrait-or-landscape rotation, and a light sensor that adjusts brightness. Pexar product page

Pexar’s buyer’s guide identifies the 12.5-inch model as the only 4:3 panel in its lineup. Choose by the shape of the images you display most, the physical screen size that suits the room, the listed resolution and pixel density, whether you prefer the sharing app, and how much built-in or external storage you need.
