A networking component could be relevant to wireless connectivity, but a chip name alone cannot establish lower in-game ping. Observed ping also depends on factors such as the player’s access network, network congestion, server distance, and the game server.

OnePlus’s OxygenOS 16 page promotes gaming multitasking, including a one-hour scenario, while cautioning that performance varies with device, software, network connection, use conditions, and environment. This is general software material—not a test of a OnePlus 16 or its rumored G3 chip: OnePlus OxygenOS 16.
When an official phone specification or independent test becomes available, useful evidence would include measured ping and consistency across network conditions, supported Wi-Fi standards and bands, thermal behavior during extended play, and battery use. No. OnePlus support notes that Bluetooth audio can trail real-time game visuals and suggests checking Game Mode or trying another Bluetooth device. That describes audio timing, not network latency or a G3 networking-chip performance issue: OnePlus support.
If visuals and controls respond normally but sound arrives late, investigate the Bluetooth audio path separately. A report of delayed audio alone does not show that a phone’s internet connection is slow.
