Short answer: The GameSir G7 Pro 8K PC editions are documented for Windows 10/11 through USB-C, the bundled 2.4 GHz wireless receiver, and Bluetooth. GameSir does not list Xbox as a working platform for these 8K PC editions. Xbox instructions belong to a separate tri-mode G7 Pro family, so you should not assume an 8K PC unit will work on an Xbox console.
Bluetooth pairing is supported on a PC, but GameSir states that XInput is unavailable over Bluetooth. For wireless PC gaming that needs normal XInput behavior, use the receiver included with the 8K PC controller. Bluetooth can still be useful with Steam’s controller-mapping features.
Identify the exact G7 Pro before connecting it
Several products use the G7 Pro name. The GameSir G7 Pro 8K PC manual covers the Aimlabs, Champion, Nioh 3 and Royal2 editions. It identifies PC as their working platform and documents three PC connection methods: USB-C wired, 2.4 GHz wireless through the supplied receiver, and Bluetooth.

Check the complete edition name on the box, controller label and manual. A listing that says only “G7 Pro” may refer to the tri-mode controller rather than an 8K PC edition.
Xbox: what is and is not established
The 8K PC manual does not list Xbox as a supported host. That means GameSir’s published compatibility information does not establish that an 8K PC controller will enumerate, authenticate or accept input on an Xbox console. A USB cable fitting the console does not change the platform qualification.

GameSir’s Xbox procedure applies to the separate tri-mode G7 Pro: connect that controller to the console by its documented wired method. The tutorial does not convert the 8K PC model into an Xbox-compatible device. Treat the two products as different controllers with different platform support.
Before buying for Xbox
- Read the exact product title and model designation, not just the “G7 Pro” portion.
- Confirm that the manufacturer’s compatibility list names your Xbox generation and the connection method you intend to use.
- Check the package contents and manual for that exact model; the 8K PC manual’s receiver and Bluetooth instructions are PC instructions.
- If Xbox support is essential, select the tri-mode model whose documentation explicitly specifies wired Xbox operation rather than assuming the 8K polling label adds console support.
Unless GameSir publishes variant-specific Xbox confirmation for your 8K edition, regard Xbox compatibility as unestablished.

Bluetooth on a Windows PC
The 8K PC manual includes Bluetooth pairing instructions for Windows. Pairing the controller to Windows, however, is not the same as obtaining Bluetooth XInput. GameSir’s FAQ says Microsoft restrictions make XInput unavailable through the Bluetooth connection.
Pair the 8K PC controller
- Put the controller into Bluetooth mode using the mode control specified for your edition.
- Turn the controller on.
- Hold Home together with the button combination shown in the manual for that edition until the Home indicator flashes rapidly. Combinations can differ by mode and edition, so do not substitute a sequence from another G7 Pro variant.
- In Windows 10 or Windows 11, open Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Add device > Bluetooth.
- Select Wireless Controller when it appears in the device list.
- Open the game and check its input settings. If the title does not accept the Bluetooth device directly, use Steam’s controller-mapping features or change to the receiver connection.
Bluetooth is therefore a convenience mode for a compatible PC host, not the mode to choose when a game specifically requires native XInput. Steam Input can translate and map controls in supported games, but it does not alter the controller’s underlying Bluetooth limitation.

When Bluetooth is the wrong choice
- Use the receiver when you need the controller’s normal wireless XInput path.
- Use USB-C when you want to avoid radio pairing or when troubleshooting a game that cannot see the controller.
- Use Bluetooth only after confirming that the game or launcher can work with the resulting input path.
Wireless PC play through the 2.4 GHz receiver
For PC gaming, GameSir explicitly recommends the official USB wireless receiver supplied with the 8K controller. This is the documented wireless route for the model and the mode to use when you want wireless XInput behavior.

Initial receiver setup
- Switch the controller to its receiver mode.
- Power on the controller.
- Plug the included receiver into the computer.
- Wait for the controller’s Home indicator to become solid. A solid indicator signals that the receiver link has completed according to the manual.
- Launch the game and verify that its controller profile is active.
Re-enter pairing mode if the link fails
- Leave the receiver connected to the computer.
- Press the pairing button on the receiver.
- Hold the controller’s pairing button as instructed by the manual to start pairing again.
- Wait for the Home indicator to settle to the connected state, then test input in Windows and in the game.
Keep the receiver associated with its controller. GameSir lists separately sold dongles for several other controllers and specifically excludes G7 Pro from those compatible-dongle lists. Do not treat a generic or differently branded GameSir dongle as a replacement for the 8K unit.

Receiver problems to check first
- Confirm that the controller is in receiver mode rather than Bluetooth mode.
- Reconnect the supplied receiver and repeat the receiver/controller pairing procedure.
- Test the controller over USB-C. If wired input works but receiver input does not, repeat pairing before changing game settings.
- Use the receiver supplied for the 8K PC edition; a receiver from another G7-series model may not be compatible.
USB-C wired PC connection
Connect the controller to the computer with a USB-C data cable. The 8K PC manual lists wired operation on Windows 10 and Windows 11. Wired mode is also the simplest way to confirm that Windows can see the controller before diagnosing wireless settings.
Use a data-capable cable rather than a charge-only lead. If the controller powers on but Windows receives no input, try the supplied or a known-good data cable, then check the game’s selected controller profile.
What the “8K” specification means here
GameSir advertises an 8,000 Hz polling rate for the 8K PC model and states that it applies over wired and 2.4 GHz connections. That is a manufacturer specification, not an independently measured latency result. The published material does not establish a measured wireless range, latency figure or polling-rate test.

- Download or consult the manual for the exact edition; GameSir lists its Connect app as supported software for the 8K PC model.
- Plan on receiver or USB-C mode if your games require XInput.
- Do not rely on an Xbox claim attached to a separate tri-mode G7 Pro listing.
The practical decision is straightforward: buy the 8K PC edition for documented Windows wired and receiver operation, with Bluetooth available under its protocol limitation. Buy the separately documented tri-mode model only when its Xbox support matches your console and connection requirements.
