Yes—but “HS80” is a family of headsets, not one universal compatibility profile. The original HS80 RGB Wireless works with PS5 and Mac/PC through its USB wireless receiver, but it is not listed for Xbox or mobile Bluetooth. The HS80 MAX adds Bluetooth for phones, while the Xbox-specific HS80 MAX Wireless for Xbox is the version CORSAIR lists for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS5, PC, Mac software, and mobile use.

Before checking ports or changing settings, read the complete model name on the box, headset label, or store listing. The three models most often confused are the HS80 RGB Wireless, HS80 MAX Wireless, and HS80 MAX Wireless for Xbox (also shown as HS80 MAX Wireless XB). Their radios and platform certifications differ.

If you need one HS80 for Xbox and a phone, choose the Xbox-specific MAX variant rather than assuming every HS80 MAX listing has Xbox certification. If your devices are PS5, Mac, and PC only, the original HS80 RGB Wireless is the model CORSAIR lists for those platforms.
Using the original HS80 RGB Wireless with PS5
Normal wireless setup
The original HS80 RGB Wireless connects to a PS5 through its wireless USB transmitter. Insert the transmitter into an available PS5 USB port, power on the headset, and select the headset as the console’s audio device if the PS5 does not switch automatically. CORSAIR’s quick-start instructions use this direct receiver connection; no Bluetooth pairing is involved.

When the PS5 detects a keyboard instead
Some original HS80 receivers can be identified by the console as a keyboard rather than a headset. CORSAIR’s support procedure is to change the receiver’s operating mode on a computer:
- Connect the HS80 wireless receiver to a PC or Mac running iCUE.
- Open iCUE and select the receiver, not only the headset.
- Open the receiver’s Connections menu.
- Select PlayStation mode.
- Disconnect the receiver from the computer and reconnect it to the PS5.
CORSAIR states that the HS80, HS80 MAX, and HS80 RGB USB work natively with PS5. The mode change is therefore a receiver-identification fix for the original wireless model, not a requirement to add a separate console adapter.
PS5 connection checks
- Use the receiver supplied with the headset; the wireless models are designed around that USB transmitter.
- Try another PS5 USB port if the console does not show an audio device.
- Confirm that the receiver is in PlayStation mode when the console reports a keyboard.
- Do not look for a Bluetooth pairing workflow for the original HS80 RGB Wireless; its documented PS5 method is the USB receiver.
Using an HS80 with Mac
HS80 RGB Wireless on macOS
CORSAIR’s product listing for the HS80 RGB Wireless names “PC;MAC;Playstation” under audio compatibility and specifies a USB wireless receiver. On a Mac, connect that receiver, turn on the headset, and choose the HS80 as the sound output and microphone in macOS sound settings when necessary. The receiver carries the wireless audio link; the headset is not relying on Mac Bluetooth for this setup.

iCUE on Mac
iCUE is CORSAIR’s configuration software. The HS80 MAX guide says iCUE can be installed on macOS. CORSAIR also notes that the USB receiver is required for some features, including SoundID. If a setting or feature does not appear while the headset is connected only by Bluetooth, connect the receiver to the Mac and manage the headset through iCUE.
Mac troubleshooting
- If the headset is powered but silent, open macOS sound settings and set the HS80 receiver as output rather than the built-in speakers.
- For microphone problems, select the HS80 receiver as the input device and check the active application’s microphone permission.
- If iCUE cannot configure the device, connect the receiver directly to the Mac instead of through a hub, then reopen iCUE.
- Do not assume a Mac Bluetooth menu entry proves that every HS80 model supports Bluetooth; the original HS80 RGB Wireless has no mobile-Bluetooth entry in CORSAIR’s compatibility chart.
Does the HS80 have Bluetooth for a phone?
Original HS80 RGB Wireless
The original HS80 RGB Wireless is not listed by CORSAIR for mobile Bluetooth. Its documented wireless connection is the USB receiver, so it should not be presented as a phone headset through Bluetooth. A phone may be able to use a wired connection only if the particular hardware and cable arrangement supports it, but the supplied compatibility information does not establish mobile audio support for this model.
HS80 MAX Bluetooth behavior
HS80 MAX models add Bluetooth. In Bluetooth mode, CORSAIR documents phone calls and Bluetooth audio, so you can use the headset for music, video, and calls after pairing it from the phone’s Bluetooth settings.

There is an important mode distinction. When an HS80 MAX remains in RF mode while paired to a phone, CORSAIR says it accepts and receives phone calls only. For music and other phone audio, switch the headset to Bluetooth mode. Pairing a phone does not by itself mean that every audio stream will be mixed into RF mode.

- Identify the exact MAX model before pairing; the original HS80 RGB Wireless is a different product.
- Put the MAX headset in its Bluetooth mode and select it in the phone’s Bluetooth device list.
- Use Bluetooth mode for music, videos, navigation prompts, and other general phone audio.
- If you are using RF audio from another device, check the model’s documented behavior before expecting phone audio to mix simultaneously. The Xbox-specific MAX model is the one for which CORSAIR describes simultaneous RF/Bluetooth use.
Does the Corsair HS80 work with Xbox?
Original HS80 RGB Wireless
Do not buy the original HS80 RGB Wireless for wireless Xbox use. CORSAIR lists that model for PC and PS4/PS5, not Xbox. The absence of Xbox certification is significant: a USB receiver that works on PS5 should not be assumed to work on an Xbox console.
HS80 MAX Wireless for Xbox
CORSAIR lists the HS80 MAX Wireless for Xbox, also labeled HS80 MAX Wireless XB, for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. The same listing includes mobile, PC, and PS4/PS5 support. It uses an Xbox-specific wireless receiver and also adds Bluetooth for a phone, making it the HS80 variant intended for a mixed Xbox-and-mobile setup.

Look for the “for Xbox” or “XB” designation in the complete product name. A generic HS80 MAX listing is not the same evidence as an Xbox-specific listing, and the standard HS80 MAX is not listed for Xbox in the supplied compatibility chart.
Xbox buying and setup checks
- Confirm that the product name explicitly says HS80 MAX Wireless for Xbox or HS80 MAX XB.
- Verify the listing covers your console generation: CORSAIR names Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
- Use the Xbox-specific receiver for console wireless audio.
- Pair the phone over Bluetooth separately when you need calls or phone audio.

HS80 MAX uses a different wireless radio from earlier HS80 models and does not support multipoint or SLIPSTREAM connections with other devices. Plan your setup around the receiver and Bluetooth modes documented for the specific model rather than expecting one universal multi-device link.
Common compatibility mistakes and fixes
“The name says HS80, so it should work everywhere.”
HS80 is a product family. Check the suffix and platform wording: RGB Wireless, MAX Wireless, or MAX Wireless for Xbox/XB. The platform list changes with the model.

“My PS5 sees a keyboard.”
For the original wireless HS80, connect the receiver to a computer, open iCUE, choose the receiver’s Connections menu, select PlayStation mode, and reconnect the receiver to the PS5.
“My phone is paired, but music is silent.”
On an HS80 MAX, pairing while the headset is in RF mode is documented for accepting and receiving calls only. Switch to Bluetooth mode for music and other phone audio.
“The USB receiver works on PS5, so it should work on Xbox.”
Xbox support is model-specific. The original HS80 RGB Wireless is not listed for Xbox; use the HS80 MAX Wireless for Xbox/XB model when Xbox wireless is required.
