Yes. The Soulstonia developer says demo saves can carry forward when Early Access launches on December 10, 2026, and that your actual in-game save progress carries over. The important exception is Steam-level data: because the demo is a separate Steam app, demo playtime, achievements, and leaderboard records start from zero in the Early Access app.
What the carryover promise means
The official Soulstonia Steam announcement uses two clear statements: “Demo saves can carry forward into Early Access when Soulstonia launches on December 10” and “Your actual Soulstonia save progress still carries over.” In practical terms, the character, world progress, skills, quests, discoveries, and other data stored in your Soulstonia save are intended to remain available when you move from the demo to the planned Early Access release.
“Full game” needs a small qualification here. The announced destination is Early Access on December 10, 2026, not a confirmed 1.0 launch. Your demo progress is therefore documented as carrying into the Early Access build. The available announcement does not make a separate promise about a later final release, future wipes, or saves surviving every major version change after Early Access begins.

Your in-game save
The developer specifically distinguishes actual Soulstonia save progress from Steam’s app-level statistics. The save itself is the part covered by the carryover statement. That means progress you make inside the game should be the information that follows you into Early Access, rather than forcing a completely new campaign.

Playtest saves entering the demo
There is also a documented Playtest-to-Demo step. Existing Soulstonia Playtest saves automatically transfer into the demo. This creates a stated continuity path:
- Playtest save
- Demo save
- Early Access save
If you already played the Playtest, the developer’s announcement says that save is brought into the demo automatically. The demo-to-Early-Access wording is that saves “can carry forward,” so treat the Playtest transfer as the explicitly described automatic step and the Early Access migration as the promised continuity outcome rather than assuming an unannounced import button or timing.
Progression is not capped in the demo
The announcement says the demo has no playtime or progression cap. You can therefore continue developing the same save instead of stopping at a short trial limit imposed by the demo. The absence of a cap does not change the app separation: your game progress can continue, while Steam’s statistics for the demo remain separate.

What resets when you move to Early Access?
The demo is distributed as a separate Steam app. As a result, the following platform-level records start fresh in the Early Access app:
- Steam hours played: time recorded against the demo does not become Early Access playtime.
- Steam achievements: achievements earned in the demo do not transfer as unlocked achievements in the Early Access app.
- Leaderboards: leaderboard data begins again in the Early Access app.
This is not the same as losing your save. The distinction is between data stored by Soulstonia and statistics attached to each Steam app. The official materials promise continuity for the former and explicitly say the latter starts fresh.
Playtest, Demo, and Early Access compared
| Build | Save-progress continuity | Steam hours, achievements, leaderboards | Published content and timing |
|---|---|---|---|
| Soulstonia Playtest | Existing Playtest saves automatically transfer into the demo. | Not stated as carrying into the demo; app-level statistics should be treated separately. | Earlier test build; the announcement does not give a complete content list or a new release date for this build. |
| Soulstonia – Demo | Demo saves can carry forward into Early Access; actual Soulstonia save progress is stated to carry over. | Demo hours, achievements, and leaderboard data start fresh in Early Access because the demo is a separate Steam app. | Available October 8, 2026. The developer says all five regions are open, 20-plus core and hybrid skills can be trained to level 99, Act I is fully playable with more than 15 Grasslands quests, and systems include gathering, crafting, combat, Magic, Summoning, and Soulstone discovery. |
| Early Access | Planned destination for the demo save on December 10, 2026. | New Steam-app statistics begin here. | Planned Early Access launch on December 10, 2026; the announcement does not establish final 1.0 scope or a no-wipe policy for later development. |
The content figures in the demo row are the developer’s published scope figures, not independent testing results. “20-plus” means the announcement gives a minimum-style count rather than an exact final number of skills.

When are the demo and Early Access available?
Demo availability
The developer announcement gives October 8, 2026 as the demo availability date. The Steam listing identifies the product as Soulstonia – Demo for PC and Mac and lists Steam Cloud support.
Early Access launch
The planned Early Access launch date is December 10, 2026. The quoted carryover statement refers to that launch date. Steam release timing can vary by region or storefront processing, so the date should be read as the developer’s announced launch date rather than a guaranteed local clock time.
How to protect your save before the transition
The developer has not published a detailed migration checklist, but you can reduce avoidable problems by keeping your setup consistent. These steps do not create a new transfer mechanism; they simply preserve the conditions under which a Steam save is most likely to be found.

- Use the same Steam account. The demo save is associated with the Steam installation and account you use to play. Do not switch accounts when installing Early Access.
- Leave Steam Cloud enabled. The Steam listing identifies Steam Cloud support. Keep the feature enabled rather than disabling synchronization immediately before the launch.
- Exit the demo normally. Return to the title screen or close the game through its normal exit path so the latest progress has time to save before Steam synchronizes.
- Allow synchronization to finish. If Steam displays a cloud-sync warning, resolve that warning before uninstalling the demo or changing computers. Do not select an option that overwrites the newer save unless you have confirmed which copy is current.
- Install Early Access through the same Steam account. Because the demo and Early Access are separate apps, install the Early Access app rather than expecting the demo executable to change in place.
- Check the load screen first. On the first Early Access launch, look for the expected save before starting a new game. Starting a new game immediately can make it harder to tell whether an older save is available.
These precautions are especially useful if you play on more than one PC or Mac. The published materials confirm Steam Cloud support, but they do not describe conflict-resolution behavior, a manual export command, or the location of local save files.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What to expect on launch day
A sensible first-launch check is to compare an unmistakable milestone from your demo session: your current region, a distinctive quest state, a high-level skill, or a discovered Soulstone. If that state appears, the game save has been recognized. Do not use Steam hours, achievement badges, or leaderboard position as the test; those are the records the announcement says will reset because Early Access is a separate app.

First confirm that Steam is online, Cloud synchronization has completed, and you are using the same account and computer profile. Then close and relaunch the Early Access app. The official announcement does not provide a public manual-import procedure, so a missing save may require support from the developer rather than a setting you can change in Steam.

Does Steam Cloud guarantee the transfer?
No. Steam Cloud support means the listing supports cloud synchronization; it is not, by itself, a promise that every cloud file will be imported between two separate apps. The carryover promise comes from the developer’s announcement, while Steam Cloud is a practical way to keep the save available across installations. A cloud conflict, an interrupted upload, a different account, or a changed local profile can still prevent the expected file from appearing until the underlying issue is resolved.
How much of the game can you play in the demo?
The announced demo is broader than a short introductory slice:
- All five regions are open for exploration.
- More than 20 core and hybrid skills can be trained to level 99.
- Act I is fully playable.
- Act I contains more than 15 quests in the Grasslands.
- Gathering, crafting, combat, Magic, Summoning, and Soulstone discovery are included.
Those details explain why preserving a demo save matters: the developer has positioned the demo as a substantial progression build, not merely a timed tutorial. They also set expectations correctly. Published access to five regions and a level-99 training ceiling does not mean every later story act, system, or Early Access feature is already represented.
What the announcement does not promise
Several common assumptions are not supported by the published wording:
- It does not promise that Steam achievements earned in the demo will be retroactively granted in Early Access.
- It does not promise that demo hours will be added to the Early Access playtime counter.
- It does not promise leaderboard continuity.
- It does not describe a permanent no-wipe policy for all future Early Access updates.
- It does not state how a save will behave if you change Steam accounts, move outside the PC/Mac Steam release, or use an unsupported platform.
- It does not define the exact local time of the December 10 launch.
Keeping these limits separate from the save-transfer promise prevents a common misunderstanding: “progress carries over” refers to Soulstonia’s game data, not every statistic associated with the Steam store page.
Bottom line for players deciding whether to start now
Starting the demo is reasonable if you want to begin exploring before Early Access. The developer has stated that the actual Soulstonia save progress carries into the December 10, 2026 Early Access launch, and Playtest saves already transfer into the demo. Plan for a clean Steam-statistics slate, however: hours, achievements, and leaderboards belong to separate apps and start over in Early Access.
