Does Saints Row: The Third Remastered Mobile work offline?

You should not need Wi-Fi or mobile data continuously while driving around Steelport, completing missions, or using the touchscreen or a connected controller.

Can I play it without Wi-Fi after downloading it?
For ordinary offline play, the practical answer is yes. Before leaving a reliable connection, download the app, let its initial data finish installing, apply available updates, and start the game once. After that preparation, regular campaign play is described as offline-capable.

What still needs an internet connection?

- App installation and updates: store downloads and later patches obviously require a connection. A general Square Enix support answer also says internet is needed for downloading and updating a mobile game, although that article does not specifically identify this port.
- Cloud saves: synchronization is an online function on both mobile platforms.
- Online co-op: playing with another person is a separate online feature and cannot work in airplane mode.
Does it need internet every time I open it?
The available guidance does not establish a universal every-launch requirement. It specifically calls out Android at launch and during initial data download, while saying regular gameplay does not need internet. Because the answer is not yet published as a Saints Row-specific Feral FAQ, do not assume that every subsequent Android launch will be identical until the release-day support page confirms it.

Mobile requirements, storage, and release date
Android requirements
The Google Play listing specifies Android 13 or later. It also warns about unusual store and device-identification cases in which a purchase might be permitted on hardware that is not actually supported. Seeing an Install or Buy button therefore does not guarantee acceptable performance or compatibility. Check the listing while signed in on the exact phone or tablet you plan to use.
iPhone and iPad requirements
The App Store lists iOS 18 or later and identifies A12 Bionic or later in its compatibility section. The short description and detailed compatibility list do not present the generations in exactly the same way, so a broad model list would be misleading. Open the live App Store page on your device and use its compatibility result as the deciding check.

How much storage is needed?
The App Store currently shows an app size of 17.6 GB. That is a listing value, not a promise that the final installed footprint or future download size will remain unchanged. Reserve additional free space for installation overhead, patches, and any extra data the game may create. Android’s listing should be checked for its current download and storage figures when available.
When does the mobile version release?
Feral Interactive announced October 29, 2026, for the iOS and Android release, and the App Store lists that date as expected. The information discussed here was available on October 13, 2026, before launch. Feral’s game-specific support page is expected to be available on release day, making it the appropriate place to verify final requirements, launch checks, and save behavior.
How to prepare for offline play
- Confirm compatibility on the device you will use. Check Android 13 or later, or iOS 18 or later, and verify the specific handset or tablet in the live store listing. On Apple devices, pay attention to the A12 Bionic requirement and the detailed compatibility result.
- Connect to a stable network. Wi-Fi is preferable for a download of this size and for avoiding mobile-data limits.
- Install the game from the official store. Do not treat store purchase eligibility alone as proof that an Android device is supported.
- Allow the initial data to finish downloading. Android’s guidance explicitly requires internet for this stage. Keep the app open and leave enough free storage for unpacking.
- Install updates before going offline. A general mobile support answer says updates require internet. Applying them now reduces the chance that the game stops to request a patch later.
- Start the game once while connected. This gives Android the opportunity to complete its stated launch requirement and lets you reach the main menu before relying on airplane mode.
- Test the exact offline setup. After setup, disable Wi-Fi and mobile data, launch the game, and confirm that the campaign loads. Do this before a flight or trip rather than discovering a launch check away from a network.
- Reconnect for cloud synchronization. If you want progress copied to a cloud service, restore connectivity and allow the save process to complete before closing the app or changing devices.
Do cloud saves need internet?
Yes. The available mobile FAQ states that Android and iOS both need an internet connection for cloud-save functionality. Cloud synchronization is therefore different from playing the installed campaign: you can play offline, but an offline session cannot upload or download cloud data until the device reconnects.

That sentence appears on a Square Enix support page. It contains the duplicated word “the” in the published text, and the page does not name this Feral Saints Row release. It is useful platform context, not confirmation of this game’s exact save implementation.
What happens to progress made offline?
The available material does not say whether this version uses manual saves, automatic saves, or both. It also does not specify how frequently local progress is written, where local save files are stored, or what recovery steps apply if synchronization fails. Avoid assuming that a mission completion has been uploaded merely because it was completed offline. Reconnect and look for whatever in-game sync indicator Feral documents after launch.
Can I transfer my save from Android to iPhone?
Do not assume that you can. A separate Square Enix cloud-sync article says saves can transfer between Android devices or between iPhones, but not between Android and iOS or other platforms. That article does not expressly identify this Feral Saints Row port, so those rules are not confirmed for this game.

- Mobile to console or PC: no transfer path is established by the available material.
Before changing platforms, keep the old device intact, reconnect it to the internet, and verify that any available cloud status reports a completed sync. Do not delete the original installation until Feral publishes the supported transfer procedure.

What about local saves, autosaves, and save recovery?
These details remain unanswered in the available pre-release information:
- Whether saving is manual, automatic, or a combination.
- Where local save data is stored on Android or iOS.
- How many save slots the mobile edition provides.
- Whether offline progress is queued automatically for later cloud upload.
- How conflicts between a local save and a cloud save are resolved.
- How to recover progress after a failed sync, reinstall, or device change.
Those are not safe areas for guesswork because mobile games differ in their save systems and operating-system storage rules. Check Feral’s game-specific support page after October 29, 2026, for the definitive instructions.
Does offline play include co-op?
No. The store descriptions advertise online co-op with another player. That feature requires a network connection and is separate from the offline single-player campaign. Turning off connectivity may leave regular campaign play available, but it cannot create an offline co-op session.

The game will not start on Android away from Wi-Fi
Reconnect to the internet and launch it again. Android’s stated caveat covers launching and initial data, so the app may not have completed that process. While connected, finish every pending download and update, then test once more before leaving network coverage.

The store allows purchase but the game performs poorly or refuses to install
Recheck the exact device against the current store compatibility result. Google Play warns that rare device-identification errors can expose an unsupported device to purchase. Store eligibility is not an unconditional hardware guarantee.
Cloud progress is missing after an offline session
Reconnect to the internet and leave the game open long enough for synchronization to complete. Do not uninstall the app or erase the old device while the sync state is uncertain.
