Incogni can help remove personal information from data brokers and people-search sites it covers, but it is not a one-time, internet-wide deletion service. It sends opt-out or removal requests and repeats them because broker records can reappear. Its request tracking can show what it asked a broker to remove; neither that record nor a large broker count proves your information is gone everywhere. Incogni also says it does not remove dark-web data.

What Incogni does

Incogni submits removal or opt-out requests to covered data brokers and people-search businesses. The company says its coverage includes marketing, recruitment, risk-mitigation, and people-search businesses, and that it periodically resubmits requests because data can return.

Some brokers maintain private databases that cannot be scanned directly. In those cases, Incogni says it uses information such as a customer’s region to identify brokers that might hold their data, then sends requests. That is a targeted request process, not confirmation that a particular record was found or deleted.

Removal time depends on the broker: Incogni says some respond within hours and others take weeks. A subscription therefore involves ongoing requests and follow-up, rather than an immediate, universal result.

Can you see what Incogni requested?

According to Incogni’s help center, the Exposures page lists individual requests and may show each request’s timeline, status, and the specific information requested for removal. This offers visibility into the workflow and what was submitted. A request marked complete is not proof that every copy of the information across the internet has been erased.

What the independent evidence says—and does not say

Study results are pooled across services

A 2025 empirical study by Jiahui He, Pete Snyder, Hamed Haddadi, Fabián E. Bustamante, and Gareth Tyson examined four commercial personal-information-removal services. Across those services, the researchers reported that 48.2% of found records were successfully removed. Participants judged only 41.1% of records identified by the services to be their own personal information. These are pooled category findings, not Incogni-specific success or accuracy rates.

The paper says Incogni participants could not assess accuracy themselves because Incogni did not show them the specific personal information contained in retrieved records. The researchers also caution that a long broker-coverage list does not, by itself, mean a service will find someone’s records or remove them.

Deloitte assurance covers specified operations

Deloitte’s limited-assurance summary, dated August 6, 2025, addressed specified Incogni practices and metrics as of July 18, 2025. The summary says the assurance covered processes involving more than 420 brokers, recurring requests, no sale of customer data during 2024, and more than 245 million processed removal requests. Those figures describe the scope and scale of specified operations; request volume is not the number of unique people helped or a count of confirmed permanent removals.

The summary also describes recurring requests at intervals of no more than 60 days for public brokers and 90 days for private brokers, except when a customer had already been added to a broker’s suppression list. This is a description of the audited process and its exception, not a promise that information will never return. Limited assurance on operational claims is not a controlled trial measuring how much an individual user’s total exposure falls.

Does Incogni remove data from the dark web?

No. Incogni’s help center says the service does not remove dark-web data. Broker-removal requests should not be treated as deleting compromised credentials, removing all information from the internet, preventing identity theft, or undoing copies already held by third parties. If an account may be compromised or identity theft is suspected, those issues require separate, appropriately scoped steps.

Plans, prices, and timing to weigh

Standard and Unlimited options

Incogni describes Standard plans as handling requests across covered brokers. Unlimited tiers add custom removal work for sites outside Standard coverage. Family and Family Unlimited options are described as covering the subscriber and up to four additional members. Its help center also lists Protect and Concierge offerings and says those are currently for U.S. residents only.

When Incogni’s official pricing page was accessed on October 7, 2026, it listed Standard at $7.99 per month when billed annually ($95.88 per year), or $15.98 for a monthly subscription. These are the page’s listed prices at that time, not a guarantee of current pricing or eligibility. Plan names, promotions, prices, and regional availability can change, so check the live checkout and terms before subscribing.

Allow time for requests to run

Incogni says some broker requests can take more than 30 days. A single month may therefore be too short to judge the full request-and-follow-up process. Annual plans include recurring checks and resubmissions, but whether that billing term makes sense depends on your needs and budget; recurring requests do not guarantee permanent removal.

So, does Incogni actually work?

It can carry out useful removal work within the brokers and sites it covers, and its dashboard can make the request process more visible. The meaningful limit is what those facts establish: requests, confirmations, and coverage totals do not show that your information has disappeared from every source or will stay gone. Treat Incogni as a recurring broker opt-out service with bounded coverage—not as a guarantee of total privacy or a remedy for dark-web exposure.
