No announced GTA 6 edition is confirmed to use a special memory card or disc. Rockstar describes the physical version as a box containing a digital download code. Take-Two announced US prices of $79.99 for Standard and $99.99 for Ultimate; the boxed code edition was scheduled to be available November 12, 2026, ahead of the game’s November 19 release.
What does the GTA 6 physical edition include?
The announced physical product is a boxed download-code edition: the box contains a code to redeem the digital game. That distinction matters if you want a copy you can install directly from physical media: a code in a box is not a disc or memory card. The announced format requires redeeming the code and downloading the game. The box is a physical purchase, but the game itself is delivered digitally; buyers looking specifically for game data on a card or disc should not assume this edition meets that need.
Rockstar’s product descriptions establish the code-in-box format, not how redemption works on every platform or the amount of storage the download requires. Check the platform and edition on the live product listing before ordering, and don’t treat an unspecified card or disc as part of the package.

How much do the announced editions cost?
Take-Two announced these US prices on June 24, 2026. Its announcement said the Ultimate Edition includes additional in-game items; it did not describe a different physical format for that edition.

These are the US prices in Take-Two’s June 24 announcement. They should not be treated as prices for other countries, where prices and taxes may differ. The announced difference between Standard and Ultimate is $20 in the US; the official description identifies additional in-game items as the Ultimate Edition distinction, not a special physical item or a different installation format.
Where did the almost-$190 claim come from?
The figure appears to trace to a June 21, 2026 GamesRadar report about five unexplained Fnac retailer listings in France, priced between €89.99 and €199.99. That report came before the official prices were announced and did not establish that the highest-priced listing was a memory-card version—or even a genuine, named collector’s edition. The €199.99 listing is therefore not evidence of an official almost-$190 special-memory-card product or its price. GamesRadar’s report describes the historical listing context.

The listing range is in euros and comes from France, while Take-Two’s confirmed prices above are US dollar prices. They are different currencies and different kinds of information: one was a set of unexplained pre-announcement retailer listings, and the other is the official US price announcement. The high Fnac listing does not establish what was in the listing or make it a current official edition price.
As of October 13, 2026, the official material cited here confirms the boxed download-code format and the two US prices, but not a special memory card. A July 2026 report said no collector’s edition had been announced at that time; that was a snapshot, not a guarantee about future announcements. GTA BOOM’s July report is secondary coverage, while Rockstar and Take-Two provide the primary product and price details. When is the boxed version available?
Take-Two said the physical version containing a download code would be available starting November 12, 2026, to support pre-loading. The announced game release date is November 19, 2026. Those dates come from the June 24 Take-Two announcement and Rockstar’s official store page. November 12 is the stated availability date for the boxed code version, not the game’s release date; the game’s announced release follows one week later.

What to check before buying
If you are shopping for a boxed copy, confirm that the listing is for Grand Theft Auto VI on your intended platform and that it names the edition you want. Check the format description: Rockstar’s announced physical version is a download code in a box. Then verify the current price, stock, seller, and any applicable regional taxes or terms on the retailer’s live listing. A retailer page should not be treated as proof of a special memory card unless the product details explicitly identify one and Rockstar confirms the edition.
For a product search, “Grand Theft Auto VI PS5” is a relevant phrase, but search results can mix platforms, editions, and sellers. Confirm those details on the actual listing rather than relying on a search snippet or an old price report.
