No official source found confirms a game called Game of Thrones: Lord of Light or an October 16 release date. The date should not be treated as official: the available announcements refer to two different games, Game of Thrones: Kingsroad and Game of Thrones: Dragonfire.

Is Game of Thrones: Lord of Light officially releasing October 16?

The title and date could not be verified in the official materials located for this article. That does not prove no such project exists, but there is not enough official evidence to report an October 16 launch as fact. No verified platform, developer, publisher, or release details for a game by that name were established.

For a release date to be dependable, look for an announcement from the rights holder, publisher, developer, or an official platform storefront that names this exact game. Details attached to another Game of Thrones title do not confirm Lord of Light.

Which official Game of Thrones game announcements may be causing confusion?

Game of Thrones: Kingsroad

Netmarble’s official release schedule identifies Game of Thrones: Kingsroad, not Lord of Light. It lists a PC pre-launch on May 14, 2026, and a mobile grand launch on May 21, 2026 (UTC). Those dates concern Kingsroad only.

Netmarble’s pre-registration page also lists an October 2026 Global Content Alignment for Kingsroad, showing October 14, 2026. That is an update for the existing game, not an October 16 release announcement for Lord of Light.

Game of Thrones: Dragonfire

Warner Bros. Games announced Game of Thrones: Dragonfire as a separate free-to-play mobile strategy game based on House of the Dragon. Its launch announcement, dated June 2, 2026, lists availability for iOS and Android. The earlier pre-registration announcement is also about Dragonfire; neither announcement confirms a game called Lord of Light.

How to check whether an October 16 date is genuine

  1. Check the exact title in announcements from the rights holder, publisher, and developer. A post about Kingsroad or Dragonfire is not confirmation of Lord of Light.

  2. Look for a matching official listing on the relevant platform storefront. Confirm that the listing names the game and specifies the same date.

  3. Check the date’s year, time zone, and context. A content update, pre-launch, pre-registration period, or regional release is not necessarily a global launch.

  4. Until a source verifies the exact title and date, treat “October 16” as unconfirmed rather than planning around it.
