Sometimes. Whether you pay for Wi-Fi in a Ford depends on the vehicle, its connected-services offer, and whether an included period is available. Ford’s current U.S. Connectivity Package page lists an included period for applicable offers, followed by paid choices; older Ford hotspot instructions describe a separate AT&T trial that ends after three months or 3GB, whichever comes first. Check the services attached to your vehicle’s VIN before assuming a trial or price applies.
Which Ford Wi-Fi offer applies to your vehicle?
Ford has more than one connected-hotspot arrangement. The current Connectivity Package is for supported vehicles and has VIN-specific availability and terms. Ford’s support page also documents an older hotspot setup activated through AT&T. These offers are not interchangeable, so the vehicle’s model year and trim—and the services shown for its VIN—matter.
| Service pathway | Included period or trial | What may follow | Key qualification |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ford Connectivity Package | Ford lists a one-year included period for applicable offers | $14.99/month, $149.95/year, or a $745 one-time purchase for seven years from the new-vehicle warranty start date | Availability, included period, features, terms, and pricing vary by model and trim; verify the VIN-specific offer with Ford. Ford Connectivity Package |
| Older AT&T-activated hotspot setup | Three months or 3GB, whichever comes first, starting when AT&T activates the trial | Post-trial eligibility and price must be confirmed with AT&T for the vehicle | This is a separate, older service pathway, not the same offer as the current Ford package. Ford says package terms and prices can change. Its page lists the annual price as equivalent to $12.50 per month, but that is an annual purchase, not a month-to-month rate. Paid package plans automatically renew until cancelled, so check the specific offer and renewal terms attached to your vehicle before choosing a plan. Ford Connectivity Package terms

- Add your vehicle to the Ford app, then open Connected Services. Ford says owners can view, activate, buy, and cancel the services available for their VIN there.
- If you prefer a browser, sign in to your Ford owner account and check Connected Services for the vehicle.
- Confirm the package name, whether an included period is active or available, its activation status, the price after any included period, and the renewal and cancellation terms.
The exact offer can vary by vehicle, and Ford says a modem must be activated and a compatible network available. The package page lists examples by model year, but those examples do not establish eligibility for every trim or individual vehicle. What does Ford’s current Connectivity Package cost?
Ford’s U.S. package page lists three paid options after an applicable included period:
- $14.99 per month.
- $149.95 per year, shown by Ford as equivalent to $12.50 per month.
- $745 one-time purchase for seven years from the new-vehicle warranty start date.
These are prices displayed on Ford’s package page accessed in 2026, not a guarantee that every Ford owner can purchase each option at those prices. Ford says offer availability, pricing, and terms vary by model and may change. The included period also varies, despite the page listing one year for applicable offers. How is the older AT&T hotspot trial different?
Ford’s support instructions for the older hotspot setup describe a no-charge data trial that starts when AT&T activates it and ends after three months or 3GB, whichever comes first. That trial is not the same as the included period associated with an applicable Ford Connectivity Package offer. If your vehicle uses this setup, confirm the post-trial choices and price with AT&T for that vehicle rather than applying Ford’s package prices.

AT&T’s Connected Car page currently advertises a $15-per-month plan for eligible vehicles with an eligible unlimited wireless plan. AT&T says speeds may be temporarily slowed after 22GB when its network is busy; eligibility and geographic terms apply. This does not mean every Ford can enroll. AT&T Connected Car

How do you turn on the hotspot?
For vehicles with the corresponding older interface, Ford’s support instructions give this SYNC path: select the vehicle image, choose Vehicle Hotspot, then switch the hotspot on. The screen and menu names may differ by vehicle, and these instructions do not establish that every Ford supports the feature. Ford hotspot activation instructions

What should you check before paying?
- Vehicle eligibility: Confirm availability for your VIN, model year, and trim; a listed offer does not mean every vehicle qualifies.
- Service pathway: Determine whether Connected Services shows a Ford Connectivity Package or whether your vehicle uses the older AT&T-activated hotspot arrangement.
- Included period: Check whether a trial or included period is attached to your vehicle, whether it has started, and what event starts it.
- Network and modem: Ford requires an activated modem and compatible network availability; coverage is not universal.
- Renewal and cancellation: For a Ford paid package, confirm the renewal terms and cancel before renewal if you do not want it to continue.
- AT&T eligibility: For the older pathway, check vehicle, plan, and geographic eligibility directly with AT&T before relying on its Connected Car offer.
