No. Blue Prince does not support cross-saves between PC and PS5. The game’s official FAQ says cross-save works only within the same ecosystem, citing Steam to Steam Deck and Windows to Xbox as examples. A save made on a PC edition should therefore be treated as separate from a save made on PlayStation 5.
The PS5 version does include manual save points, and a later PlayStation update added backup-save creation and restoration. Those features improve save reliability on PS5; they do not transfer progress to or from a PC account.
The direct answer
Blue Prince has no documented PC-to-PS5 or PS5-to-PC cross-save feature. If you begin playing on Steam or another Windows PC edition, buying the PS5 edition does not mean that your existing rooms, discoveries, unlocks, or run progress will appear automatically. Starting on PS5 likewise should not be expected to create a usable PC save.

Raw Fury’s pinned FAQ, published April 10, 2025, describes the boundary clearly: “Blue Prince does not have cross-save except in the same ecosystem e.g. Steam to Steam Deck and Windows/Xbox.” The important distinction is the platform family, not simply whether you use the same game account or own the game on more than one device.

What “cross-save” means in this case
Cross-save, also called cross-progression, means that the same game progress can be continued on another supported platform. A qualifying system normally synchronizes a save through an account or platform service so that the second device can load it.
That is different from several features that are easy to confuse with cross-save:
- Manual saving: You choose a save point in the game and return to it later on that same platform.
- Cloud backup: A platform service preserves or restores files for the same platform ecosystem. It does not necessarily make those files readable by another ecosystem.
- Cross-buy: A purchase license may cover more than one device in some products. Ownership and save portability are separate questions.
- Backup restoration: A damaged or lost save can be replaced with a backup on the platform where it was created. Restoration is not a PC-to-PS5 transfer.
For Blue Prince, the published support statement addresses save portability by ecosystem. It does not promise a universal account save that follows you between PC and PlayStation.

What happens if you change from PC to PS5
Your PC installation and your PS5 installation should be treated as two independent save environments. The practical result is that a PS5 purchase is not a continuation plan for an existing PC run unless the developer announces a new compatibility feature in the future.

Progress that players commonly expect to carry over includes completed rooms, discovered secrets, permanent unlocks, in-game currency, challenge results, and the current run state. The available support information does not identify any of those categories as transferable between PC and PS5. Do not assume that linking the same email address, PlayStation Network identity, or publisher account will merge them.
If you want to play on both systems, decide in advance which platform will hold your main progress. You can still own and play both versions, but switching platforms means beginning or continuing within the save set available to that platform rather than picking up a PC save on PS5.
What the PS5 manual-save system actually provides
The PlayStation Store description confirms that the PS5 edition has manual save points. This tells you how progress is recorded while playing on PS5: you can reach an appropriate save point, save, exit, and later load that PS5 progress.

In other words, manual saving answers the question “Can I return to my PS5 progress?” It does not answer “Can I continue my PC progress on PS5?”

When using the PS5 edition, save deliberately at the available save points and leave the game only after the save has completed. If you are troubleshooting, first establish whether the issue is failure to create or load a PS5 save. That is a different problem from expecting a PC save to appear on the console.
What changed in the August 7, 2025 PS5 patch
On August 7, 2025, the official Blue Prince account said that a PlayStation patch addressed PS5 save-file issues and added the ability to create and restore backup saves. This is a reliability measure for the PS5 version.
Backup creation gives the console edition a recovery path when a save file is affected by the kinds of problems addressed by the patch. Restoration lets a player return to an earlier backup on PS5. Neither announcement says that PC files can be uploaded to PS5, that PS5 files can be downloaded on PC, or that the two editions now share progression.
Therefore, seeing a backup or restore option after updating your PS5 game should not change your platform decision. Use it to protect PS5 progress, not as a workaround for the absent PC-to-console transfer path.

Is there a manual way to transfer a PC save?
No supported manual procedure is identified in the published information. The FAQ does not describe importing a Windows or Steam save through a USB drive, a cloud-storage service, a publisher account, or a PlayStation backup. Without an official method, copying files or renaming folders is not a reliable transfer strategy.
Even when two editions display similar progress, their save formats, account permissions, and platform services can differ. A file that exists on a computer is not automatically a file that the PS5 version can read. Attempting unsupported replacement of save data can also put the original PC copy at risk.
If your goal is to protect a PC run, keep the original installation and its existing backups intact before experimenting. If your goal is to recover a PS5 save, use the in-game or system recovery options made available for the PS5 edition and the backup-save feature added in the 2025 update. Neither action creates cross-platform progression.
Which platform should you choose?
Choose the platform where you expect to do most of your playing, because progress portability is limited by ecosystem. The following decision points use only the distinctions established by the official support information.

- Choose PC if your main devices are a Steam system or Windows PC. Steam and Steam Deck are the explicitly cited same-ecosystem example; Windows and Xbox are the other example.
- Choose PS5 if you want console play and are comfortable keeping a separate PS5 save. The edition offers manual save points and later received PS5 save backup and restoration improvements.
- Do not buy the second version solely to continue the first version’s save. The PC and PS5 editions are not documented as sharing progress.
- Check the current store listing before purchase. Prices, bundles, discounts, and subscription access can vary by country and can change independently of save support. The available information does not establish a universal price or subscription entitlement.
If your deciding factor is the ability to move one run between a desktop and a handheld, the Steam-to-Steam-Deck example is the relevant published case. If the deciding factor is moving that run to a PlayStation 5, the available support statement does not provide that option.
Troubleshooting: missing progress on PS5
Use this sequence to separate a normal platform boundary from a genuine PS5 save problem:
- Identify where the missing progress was created. If it was created on PC, its absence on PS5 is consistent with the published cross-save limitation.
- Confirm that you are loading the PS5 edition’s own save. A manual save made on PS5 must be selected from the PS5 game’s save or load flow.
- Check that the game is updated. The August 7, 2025 update addressed PS5 save-file issues and added backup-save creation and restoration.
- Use the PS5 backup or restore option when appropriate. This is intended for PS5 save recovery, not for importing a computer save.
- Protect the original data before deleting anything. Do not remove a save while trying to solve a platform mismatch; first determine whether the issue is a missing PS5 save, a damaged PS5 save, or an expected absence of PC progress.
- Contact official support if a valid PS5 save still fails. Include the platform, game version, when the save was created, and the exact behavior. Explain that you are reporting a PS5 save problem rather than requesting an unsupported PC transfer.
How to plan a two-platform playthrough
Players who own both versions can avoid confusion by assigning each platform a clear purpose. For example, keep a primary run on PC and use PS5 for a separate run, or reverse that arrangement. Record which platform contains a particular milestone so that you do not overwrite or abandon the wrong save while switching devices.

Before leaving a session, use the platform’s normal save process and verify that the save is present when you return. On PS5, the manual-save design makes that check especially important. On PC, retain the original save environment instead of assuming that a later console purchase will serve as a backup.
If a future update changes the support policy, the official FAQ, store listing, or developer announcement should be the authority. Until such an announcement appears, the safe planning assumption is that PC and PS5 progress remain separate.
Bottom line for buyers
Blue Prince supports cross-save only in the same-ecosystem examples identified by its official FAQ, such as Steam with Steam Deck and Windows with Xbox. PC and PS5 are outside that documented support, so a Steam or Windows save should not be expected to appear on PlayStation 5, and a PS5 save should not be expected on PC.
The PS5 edition’s manual save points and its August 2025 backup-and-restore update help you preserve and recover console progress. They do not provide cross-progression. Select the platform on which you intend to maintain your main save, and treat a second-platform purchase as a separate playthrough unless an official future update states otherwise.
