Yes. ARC Raiders on PS5 supports cross-play with players on supported Xbox and PC platforms, and it supports cross-progression through an Embark ID. Link your PlayStation account and any Steam, Epic, or Xbox account you use to the same Embark ID so your account data remains associated when you change platforms. Online multiplayer on PS5 requires an active PlayStation Plus subscription.
What cross-play means in ARC Raiders on PS5
Cross-play lets a PS5 player join social play with friends using supported Xbox and PC systems. Embark describes Embark ID as enabling “cross-platform play with friends on any supported system,” while the ARC Raiders site describes social play across PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
This is a platform feature rather than a promise that every device or storefront is supported forever. The practical test is whether the other player is using a currently supported version of ARC Raiders and has connected the appropriate platform account to Embark’s account system. A PS5 player can therefore form a group with friends on Xbox Series X|S or PC instead of being restricted to PlayStation players.
How cross-progression works
Cross-progression keeps the game data attached to your Embark ID instead of leaving it isolated on one console. Embark says the ID enables cross-progression between Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Its account-creation guidance also describes switching between Steam, Epic, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S without losing progress.

The important condition is that every platform account you use must be connected to the same Embark ID. Buying or installing ARC Raiders on two platforms does not merge two separate Embark IDs. If the PS5 account is linked to one ID and the PC or Xbox account is linked to another, the accounts remain separate.
Data Embark associates with the ID
Embark’s account guidance says the ID stores your progress, gear, and cosmetics. The guidance also identifies purchases as account-associated data. That means the same linked account is the place to look for your ongoing profile when moving between supported platforms.
Storefront ownership and item-level entitlements can still depend on the platform and region. The published account guidance establishes account-linked progression and inventory data, but it does not document every edition, regional entitlement, or exception for every individual item. Treat the Embark ID as the account continuity mechanism, not as a guarantee that every storefront transaction is interchangeable.

- A PlayStation Network account on the PS5.
- An Embark ID, either newly created or already in use.
- The Steam, Epic, or Xbox account you intend to connect, if you will also play on PC or Xbox.
- The ability to sign in to each account during the linking process.
- PlayStation Plus for online play on PS5. Sony’s PS5 product information states that PS Plus is required for online multiplayer.
Use one Embark ID consistently. Embark allows one account per platform to be linked to an ID, including one Steam account, one PlayStation account, and one Xbox account. A platform account that is already attached to a different Embark ID must be unlinked from that ID before you can connect it to the one you want to use.

Set up cross-play and cross-progression during the first PS5 launch
The cleanest setup is to establish the account relationship before you begin building progress on multiple platforms.
- Launch ARC Raiders on PS5.
- When the account prompt appears, choose Create New Account if you do not have an Embark ID, or choose Link Existing Account if you already created one elsewhere.
- Sign in with the Embark ID you want to keep as your permanent account.
- Complete the initial setup and confirm that the PlayStation account is connected to that ID.
- On your PC or Xbox, launch ARC Raiders and select the option to link an existing Embark ID rather than creating a second one.
- Sign in with the exact same Embark ID used on PS5.
Choosing “Create New Account” on each platform creates separate account identities. If you have not played yet, avoid that split by deciding which Embark ID will be your main account before linking the second platform.
Add a PC or Xbox account after you have started on PS5
You do not have to complete every connection on the first launch. Embark provides a web account area where you can add platforms later.

- Open the menu that displays your account name.
- Choose Connected Platforms.
- Select the additional platform account you want to add.
- Complete that platform’s sign-in and authorization prompts.
- Confirm that the newly connected account appears under the same Embark ID as your PS5 account.
Repeat those steps for each supported platform you use, subject to the one-account-per-platform limit. Do not create another Embark ID when the goal is to continue the PS5 profile.

The table separates two ideas that are easy to confuse: cross-play concerns whom you can play with, while cross-progression concerns whether your account data follows you. Both depend on using supported versions and the correct Embark ID, but they answer different questions.
What happens to progress, gear, cosmetics, and purchases?
Progress
Embark identifies progress as data stored with your Embark ID. Once the PS5 and other platform accounts are linked to that same ID, the documented cross-progression path is designed to let you continue the account rather than start an unrelated profile on each platform.
Gear and cosmetics
Embark’s account guidance specifically names gear and cosmetics as information stored by the ID. This is why linking the account before changing platforms matters: the inventory and cosmetic identity are associated with the account you sign into.

Purchases
Purchases are also described as account-associated data. However, the official guidance does not list every regional edition, storefront entitlement, or item-level exception. If a transaction is important to your decision, verify the entitlement shown for your region and edition instead of assuming that ownership on one storefront automatically grants every product on another.
PlayStation Plus and the PS5 online requirement
Cross-play is an online feature, so a PS5 player needs the platform’s online-access requirement in addition to the game and an Embark ID. Sony’s PS5 product page states that PlayStation Plus is required for online play. This requirement is separate from account linking: Embark ID connects your game accounts, while PS Plus supplies the PS5 online multiplayer access.
If you can sign in to Embark but cannot use online play on PS5, check the PlayStation Plus status on the PlayStation Network account being used. Changing the Embark ID will not replace that platform subscription requirement.

The PS5 profile is missing when you play on PC or Xbox
- Check that the PC or Xbox account is connected to the same Embark ID as the PS5 account.
- Sign in to the Embark ID account and open Connected Platforms to review the links.
- If you accidentally created a second Embark ID, stop using it for the cross-progression setup and identify which ID contains the profile you want to keep.
A platform account cannot be connected
Embark’s rule is one account per platform for each Embark ID. If the PlayStation, Steam, or Xbox account is already attached to another Embark ID, it must be unlinked there before it can be connected to the intended ID. The error does not mean that two Embark IDs will merge automatically.
You selected “Create New Account” by mistake
Do not create additional accounts on the remaining platforms. First determine which Embark ID contains the progress you want to retain, then use the existing-account linking path on the other platform. Review the Connected Platforms list so you know which identity owns each connection before making changes.

Friends use different platforms
Different hardware is expected in a cross-play group: ARC Raiders supports social play across PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. Make sure each player is using a supported system and has completed the account setup. Cross-play compatibility does not require everyone to own the same console, but it does require the online platform access applicable to that player.
What is not established by the published platform guidance
The official statements establish cross-play across supported PlayStation, Xbox, and PC systems and cross-progression through Embark ID. They do not provide a complete list of every regional storefront edition, every purchase exception, or every future supported device. They also do not state a PC or Xbox subscription requirement in the account guidance summarized here.
For a purchase decision, verify the ARC Raiders PS5 listing available in your region and the edition you intend to buy. For account continuity, the dependable rule is simpler: connect the PS5 account and the other platform account to one Embark ID, and do not assume that separate IDs can be merged later.
Bottom line for PS5 players
ARC Raiders supports the two features most players mean by a modern connected multiplayer release: PS5 players can play with friends on supported PC and Xbox platforms, and the same Embark ID can carry the documented profile data between supported systems. Set up or link the Embark ID at first launch, add later platforms under Connected Platforms, and keep the one-account-per-platform rule in mind. On PS5, maintain PlayStation Plus for online play.
