Some Gigabyte AORUS ELITE motherboards support RGB lighting, but the family name alone does not tell you whether your board has visible built-in lighting or which RGB strips it can connect. Several models list headers for optional LED strips, and their number and type vary by model and hardware revision. Check the exact board and revision in Gigabyte’s specifications and matching manual before buying or connecting a strip.
Does an AORUS ELITE motherboard have RGB?
Some do, but “AORUS ELITE” is a product family, not one motherboard specification. A board’s RGB LED headers indicate support for connecting compatible external lighting; they do not, by themselves, establish that the motherboard has visible LEDs built into it. For a definitive answer, identify the complete model name and revision printed on your board, then check its Gigabyte product support page or the equivalent page for your exact model.
What RGB connections do specific AORUS ELITE models list?
These examples show why it is important to check the exact model and revision. They describe published connections, not a guarantee that every AORUS ELITE board has the same features.

How do RGB and addressable RGB differ?
Standard RGB and addressable RGB use different header types. A strip’s connector must match the corresponding header on your exact motherboard; do not assume that a plug fits or is safe just because both are described as RGB. Check the board’s manual for the header location, pinout, voltage, and supported limits before connecting anything.

For one model-specific example, the B650 AORUS ELITE AX manual describes a standard 5050 RGB strip with a 12V/G/R/B pinout. It specifies a maximum of 2A at 12V and a maximum strip length of 2m for that header. These limits apply to the specified model, not to every AORUS ELITE motherboard.
Connect a compatible strip safely
For the B650 AORUS ELITE AX instructions, align the strip’s marked 12V power pin with header pin 1. Gigabyte warns: “Incorrect connection may lead to the damage of the LED strip.” Follow the manual for your own board rather than applying this pinout or its limits to another model.

Can you control the lighting with software?
Software support is also model-dependent. Gigabyte lists RGB Fusion 2.0 for the Z790 AORUS ELITE rev. 1.1. Its Intel 700-series feature manual describes using RGB Fusion in Windows to control supported onboard LEDs and RGB or addressable strips. This does not establish support for every board, every attached device, or every software version; check the page and manual for your exact model.

How to check your own board before adding lighting
- Find the full model and revision. Use the name and revision printed on the motherboard; the family name alone is not specific enough.
- Open the matching Gigabyte specifications page. Look for RGB or addressable LED strip header listings and any RGB software feature.
- Read the manual for that revision. Confirm the connector type, pinout, voltage, header location, and any power or strip-length limits.
- Match the strip to the header. Do not connect a standard RGB strip to an addressable header, or the reverse, unless the exact manual explicitly supports that connection.
