Yes, but not every compact Xbox controller supports all three features in the same way. The 8BitDo Lite SE combines a small, lightweight design with vibration, a 3.5 mm headset jack and programmable Super Buttons. The 8BitDo Ultimate 3-mode adds vibration or impulse-trigger support on Xbox and Windows, headset output and software profiles for remapping. Supported PowerA controllers can expose audio, remapping and rumble controls through Gamer HQ, although the cited Advantage information does not establish that the model is compact.
The important distinction is that a wireless controller connection is not the same as wireless headset audio. The documented 8BitDo models provide wireless controller operation and wired headset audio through the controller’s 3.5 mm jack; the cited product information does not confirm that a Bluetooth headset connects directly to Xbox through the controller.
What the three features actually mean
Vibration, rumble and impulse triggers
“Vibration” or “rumble” means the controller’s motors react to events in a game. The effect can range from a short pulse when a shot is fired to a sustained vibration during an explosion or collision. It is a hardware feature, but the console, game and controller mode must all support it before it works.

Impulse triggers are more specific. They add feedback through the triggers themselves rather than only through the handles. A product page that lists ordinary vibration does not automatically promise impulse-trigger effects, so check the exact model and platform wording.

Headset audio through a controller
A 3.5 mm audio jack lets you plug a compatible wired headset into the controller. The controller then carries game and chat audio while you use the controller wirelessly with the console. This is the documented audio path for the cited 8BitDo models.
That arrangement should not be described as wireless headset audio. The controller-to-Xbox link may be wireless, but the headset remains physically connected by its cable. The cited specifications do not establish direct Bluetooth headset audio to Xbox, and a controller’s Bluetooth mode does not by itself guarantee headset support.
Remapping buttons
Remapping changes what a button or additional control does. There are two distinct approaches:
The Tool Desk
Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →- Hardware remapping: the controller stores an assignment for a programmable control, such as the Lite SE’s Super Buttons.
- Software remapping: a desktop or mobile configuration utility saves button assignments in profiles, as described for the Ultimate 3-mode.
Neither approach necessarily changes every Xbox system command or every game’s control scheme. Compatibility depends on the controller’s firmware, the platform on which the profile is created and whether the game accepts the resulting input.

What the Lite SE offers in a small body
The Lite SE is the clearest answer for someone who wants a compact Xbox controller without giving up the three requested functions. Its product wording calls it “Compact, mobile, and lightweight,” while the listed features include vibration, a 3.5 mm audio jack and programmable Super Buttons.
Rumble on the Lite SE
The vibration listing means the controller can provide tactile feedback when the game and connection mode request it. Because the cited description does not spell out a game-by-game or mode-by-mode matrix, treat vibration as a model capability rather than a guarantee that every title will use it identically.
Headsets on the Lite SE
Connect a wired headset to the 3.5 mm jack on the controller. This is useful when the console is across the room or when you want chat audio without routing a cable directly to the Xbox. It does not show that the controller can pair a wireless headset directly with Xbox.
Super Buttons and assignment choices
The Super Buttons are programmable controls, so they can duplicate a function that would otherwise require moving a thumb from a stick. That is hardware-based remapping rather than a profile system documented in the Lite SE material. The exact assignment procedure and the number of stored mappings should be confirmed in the current manual for your firmware revision.

When the Ultimate 3-mode is the better fit
The Ultimate 3-mode is aimed at users who want configuration profiles rather than only fixed hardware assignments. Its listed features include impulse-trigger and vibration support on Xbox and Windows, a 3.5 mm audio jack and remapping through software profiles.
Platform-specific vibration
The Xbox and Windows qualification matters. It establishes support on those platforms, but it does not automatically extend to every other device or to every one of the controller’s three modes. Select the mode intended for the platform before testing vibration or trigger effects.
Profile-based remapping
The cited Ultimate Software support includes button mapping, stick and trigger sensitivity adjustment, vibration control and controller profiles. A practical profile workflow is:
- Connect the controller to the device on which the configuration utility is supported.
- Open the controller profile or mapping screen.
- Assign the desired buttons, then adjust stick, trigger or vibration settings only if the software exposes those controls for your model.
- Save the profile with a recognizable name.
- Switch to that profile before launching the game and test every changed input.
Saving a profile does not make a wireless headset compatible. Audio still uses the documented 3.5 mm jack unless the exact model’s current manual states another path.

Where PowerA’s Gamer HQ fits
PowerA’s Gamer HQ can provide audio, remapping and rumble controls for supported controllers. That makes it relevant when software adjustment is more important than a particular physical layout.
However, the cited Advantage information does not establish that the controller is compact. “Compatible with Gamer HQ” and “small enough for a travel-focused setup” are separate claims. Check the exact model’s published dimensions, weight, Xbox licensing or compatibility statement and connection method before treating it as a compact alternative.
Gamer HQ support is also not universal across every controller in a product family. The controller model and firmware determine which pages and settings appear, so a missing audio, remapping or rumble option may indicate that the specific hardware does not expose it.

How to verify a compact controller before buying
1. Confirm the physical fit
- Look for an explicit compact or lightweight description.
- Find published dimensions and weight for the exact model, not only the family name.
- Consider stick spacing, trigger travel and the distance between the grips; a lower overall weight does not guarantee that the shape will suit smaller hands.
2. Confirm vibration on your platform
- Check whether the specification says vibration, rumble, impulse triggers or a combination.
- Read the platform qualification. The Ultimate 3-mode listing specifically names Xbox and Windows.
- Check whether vibration can be disabled in the controller software, since a profile may preserve a reduced or off setting.
3. Check the audio path
- Look for a physical 3.5 mm headset jack if you need wired headset audio through the controller.
- Do not treat “wireless controller” as proof of wireless headset pairing.
- Confirm that the headset’s microphone and chat controls are supported on Xbox, not merely that stereo output is present.
4. Identify the remapping mechanism
- For hardware remapping, determine which controls are programmable and whether assignments persist after disconnecting.
- For software remapping, verify the name and operating-system support of the configuration utility.
- Check whether profiles are stored in the controller, in the app or only on the device running the app.
5. Match the wireless mode to your setup
Product names such as “three-mode” describe a design category, not necessarily the exact radios or cable behavior available in every mode. Before purchase, confirm which mode is intended for Xbox, whether a cable is required for configuration and whether the controller can remain connected while a headset is plugged in.

Testing after you connect the controller
A short test can separate a missing feature from an incorrect mode or an unsupported game.
- Connect the controller to Xbox using the connection method specified for that model.
- Open a game or system screen that responds to controller input and verify both sticks, triggers, bumpers and the face buttons.
- Use a game known to produce controller feedback and check whether the handles vibrate. If there is no response, inspect the game’s vibration setting, the controller profile and the connection mode.
- Plug the wired headset into the 3.5 mm jack, then check game audio and microphone input. If output works but chat does not, inspect the console’s chat or privacy settings and the headset mute switch.
- Apply one remapped assignment at a time. Test it in a low-risk menu before using it in a competitive match.
- Restore the default profile if an assignment causes unexpected behavior, then save a separate profile for the game that needs it.
Common pitfalls and fixes
“It is wireless, so my Bluetooth headset should work.”
That conclusion is not supported by the cited specifications. A wireless controller link and a wireless headset link are different functions. Use the 3.5 mm jack for the documented headset path, or consult the exact model’s current manual for a separately documented wireless-audio feature.
“The controller has remapping, so every button can be changed.”
Remapping scope varies. A controller may expose only additional programmable buttons, or its software may offer a broader profile editor. Read the control list in the app and test the assignments you actually need.

Check the active mode, the game’s vibration setting and any software profile that may have reduced vibration. Platform support can also be narrower than the hardware’s general specification; the Ultimate 3-mode listing, for example, explicitly identifies Xbox and Windows.
“A controller works with Gamer HQ, so it must be compact.”
Software compatibility says nothing about physical size. For PowerA models, verify dimensions and weight for the precise controller before choosing it for small hands or travel.
Which type should you choose?
- Choose the Lite SE if the priority is a clearly compact, lightweight design with built-in vibration, wired headset output and programmable extra controls.
- Choose the Ultimate 3-mode if you need Xbox and Windows vibration or impulse-trigger support plus software profiles and sensitivity controls.
- Consider a supported PowerA controller when Gamer HQ controls are central to your setup, but verify compactness and the exact feature set at the individual-model level.
The decisive checks are not the word “wireless” or the controller’s size alone. Confirm the platform-specific vibration statement, identify whether headset audio is wired through a 3.5 mm jack, and determine whether remapping is handled by physical programmable controls or saved software profiles.
