The Dimplex DCP33EB is a 3.5kW portable air conditioner that Dimplex recommends for rooms measuring 15–23m². That makes it a candidate for a small or medium-sized room, but the stated range is manufacturer guidance—not a guarantee of cooling performance in your home. Published specifications include Wi-Fi, a window kit and remote control; the available independent listing does not reveal enough test results to confirm real-world cooling speed, noise or running costs.
What the DCP33EB is designed to do
Dimplex Australia describes the DCP33EB as a “3.5kW Recycled Portable Air Conditioner w/ Wi-Fi.” Its September 2024 specification sheet gives a 3.5kW cooling capacity and recommends it for rooms from 15m² to 23m². Treat that room range as a starting point when comparing units, not as a promise that the air conditioner will maintain a particular temperature in every room.
Room conditions matter: direct sun, ceiling height, insulation, open doorways and heat-producing equipment can all affect the cooling task. If your space is near the upper end of Dimplex’s range or has substantial heat gain, the listed room size alone cannot establish whether this model will be sufficient.

What the weight and dehumidification discrepancies mean
Dimplex’s August 2025 manual lists the DCP33EB at 23.5kg, while its September 2024 specification sheet and CHOICE’s listing give 22.5kg. The documents do not explain the difference. If you need to lift or move the unit frequently, check the weight shown for the exact unit or packaging before buying rather than relying on one figure.
#1 Best Overall
- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
The published dehumidification rates also differ: Dimplex’s 2024 sheet says 1.2L/hour, while the 2025 manual says 1.7L/hour. Since the available documents do not reconcile these values or specify matching test conditions, neither figure should be treated as a verified real-world moisture-removal rate.
What is included, and how the Wi-Fi feature is documented
Dimplex’s 2024 product sheet lists a window kit and remote control in the package. Confirm the contents for your exact purchase, particularly if buying a different market or SKU. The supplied kit is relevant because a portable air conditioner needs its hot-air exhaust directed outside; the available information does not establish compatibility for generic or replacement window kits.

The manual documents Wi-Fi use with the Glen Dimplex Connect app. This confirms that app control is a listed feature, but does not establish setup experience, app reliability or which functions are available remotely.

What independent evidence does—and does not—show
CHOICE has a DCP33EB listing, but the accessible page marks detailed test results, running-cost information and other findings as members-only. It therefore does not support a conclusion here about independent cooling performance, measured noise, cooling time or electricity costs. Dimplex’s at-or-below-65dB(A) figure is a manufacturer specification, not an independently verified result.

Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Who should consider the DCP33EB?
- It may suit you if your room is within Dimplex’s recommended 15–23m² range and you want a portable unit with listed Wi-Fi control, a remote and a window kit.
- Check carefully first if the unit must be moved often, because the published weight differs by 1kg across Dimplex documents and CHOICE’s listing.
- Look for independent test data if noise, cooling speed or running cost is central to your decision; the accessible information does not establish those outcomes.
- Compare other models on equal terms: manufacturer-stated capacity and room range, dimensions and weight, window-sealing hardware, noise measurement method, dehumidification, controls, warranty and current price.
Dimplex’s manuals also list the DCP26EB as a smaller 2.6kW sibling. That capacity difference alone does not show which unit will perform better in a particular room; compare the room guidance and other specifications for the exact models, and do not assume a larger capacity guarantees a better result in every space.
