The Dimplex DCACP23 combines a room air circulator with a HEPA-13 filter, but its published specifications are inconsistent and the accessible independent review information does not reveal measured purification or noise results. It may suit someone who wants both functions in one compact unit; buyers who need verified room coverage, test scores or confirmed replacement-filter availability should get those details before purchasing.
Is the Dimplex DCACP23 a good air purifier?
It is better described as a fan and purifier combination than as a purifier with proven room-level performance. The official manual identifies a HEPA-13 filter and documents circulation and purification controls. Dimplex’s 2023–24 brochure claims a dust-removal CADR of 160 m³/h, and CHOICE displays the same figure, but that is a claimed specification—not an independently verified result available on CHOICE’s public page.
CHOICE lists the DCACP23 at A$299 and a replacement filter at A$60 (figures shown on its page when accessed in 2026, not confirmation of a current retail offer). Its expert rating and performance, dust, smoke, VOC, ease-of-use, energy and noise-test results are member-only. The accessible information also gives no claimed room size. That leaves a key purchase question unanswered: how well the unit cleans air in a room of a particular size.

The practical case for the DCACP23 is the combination: one mains-powered appliance circulates air and filters it. The trade-off is that buyers cannot assess its measured purification performance from the publicly visible test results, and filter compatibility and replacement timing need confirmation.

CHOICE lists a rounded size of 42 × 26 × 23 cm and weight of 3.3 kg, broadly corresponding to the manual’s figures. Neither the manual’s maximum-noise specification nor the brochure’s quieter-than-55 dB(A) language should be mistaken for a disclosed independent noise test.

How many speeds does the Dimplex DCACP23 have?
There is a source discrepancy. The DCACP23 manual says three speed settings; Dimplex’s 2023–24 brochure says 12 settings, including silent and power modes. The available information does not resolve which description applies to the model as sold, so check the controls on the specific unit or ask Dimplex before relying on either count.
The brochure also differs from the manual on oscillation: it describes “90° automatic horizontal oscillation,” while the manual specifies 80° oscillation and a 90° tilting head. Keep those functions distinct when assessing whether the airflow direction and movement meet your needs.

Does the DCACP23 have a HEPA filter?
Yes. The manual identifies a HEPA-13 filter. Dimplex’s 2023–24 brochure additionally claims plasma purification, and the manual documents plasma and AI Purification controls. These are manufacturer feature descriptions; they do not establish how effectively the appliance removes particular pollutants in a given room.
The manual says AI Purification takes 60 seconds to detect air quality and then adjusts fan speed according to what it detects. That describes the operating sequence, not an independent assessment of sensor accuracy or purification results.

How does the air-circulation function work?
Dimplex describes the unit as circulating air around a room rather than simply directing fan airflow at the person facing it. The manual gives seasonal placement suggestions:

These are manufacturer directions, not independent proof of a particular comfort improvement, room effect or energy saving. The manual also describes a remote control and controls for speed, swing, plasma, AI Purification, timer and display lighting. The remote uses a CR2032 3 V battery.

How loud is the Dimplex DCACP23?
The manual gives a maximum noise figure of 55 dB(A), while the 2023–24 brochure describes operation as under 55 dB(A). CHOICE’s high- and low-speed noise-test values are not publicly visible, so there is no disclosed independent measurement here to show how loud it is at each setting or in ordinary use.
How often do you replace the DCACP23 filter?
The manual includes a “Replace Filter” display indicator but does not establish a replacement interval in the accessible information. CHOICE lists a filter cost of A$60, but no exact part number is established. Before ordering a replacement, confirm with Dimplex that it fits the DCACP23 and ask what replacement interval it recommends for your use.
