The Dimensity 9300 and Google Tensor G6 use different CPU, graphics and AI designs, but the available evidence does not establish a definitive performance winner. MediaTek publishes full Dimensity 9300 specifications; Tensor G6 details come from secondary reporting. A small set of Geekbench database entries offers a point of comparison, not a controlled head-to-head test.
How their published specifications compare
MediaTek’s official Dimensity 9300 product page specifies an eight-core CPU with four Arm Cortex-X4 cores running at up to 3.25 GHz and four Cortex-A720 cores at up to 2.0 GHz. The Tensor G6 configuration below is reported by Android Central, not confirmed by a Google specification sheet.
| Area | MediaTek Dimensity 9300 | Google Tensor G6 |
|---|---|---|
| CPU | Eight cores: 4 Cortex-X4, up to 3.25 GHz; 4 Cortex-A720, up to 2.0 GHz (MediaTek official specifications). | Seven cores: 1 Arm C1-Ultra and 6 C1-Pro in a 1+4+2 arrangement (Android Central report, August 17, 2026). |
| Manufacturing process | Third-generation TSMC 4 nm process (MediaTek). | TSMC 3 nm (Android Central report). |
| Graphics | Arm Immortalis-G720 MC12 (MediaTek). | PowerVR CXTP-48-1536 (Android Central report). |
| AI hardware | APU 790; MediaTek describes generative-AI capabilities. | Fifth-generation Tensor Processing Unit (Android Central report). |
| Memory and storage | LPDDR5T up to 9600 Mbps; UFS 4 with MCQ (MediaTek). | LPDDR5X memory is reported by Android Central; storage specification not stated in that source. |
| Connectivity | MediaTek lists Wi-Fi 7 and sub-6 GHz and mmWave 5G support. | Android Central reports a MediaTek M90 modem. |
| Security | MediaTek lists Secure Processor, hardware root of trust and Arm MTE. | Android Central reports a Titan M3 security co-processor. |
These figures describe the chip designs as reported, not necessarily every phone implementation. The process node alone does not determine speed or efficiency. Likewise, GPU model names and AI hardware generations do not establish how a phone performs in games or on-device AI tasks. Software, cooling, workload and device configuration all matter.

What the available Geekbench results show
Notebookcheck’s processor page, accessed October 7, 2026, lists results for particular device entries. Its Pixel 11 Pro XL entry with Tensor G6 scores 2,687 in Geekbench 6.7 single-core and 7,220 in multi-core. The page also lists 7,408 Geekbench 6.7 multi-core points for a Dimensity 9300 entry.

The multi-core figures put these listed samples in a similar range, with the Dimensity 9300 entry scoring higher. That difference is not proof that Dimensity 9300 phones are universally faster: the entries are not established as matched devices tested under the same thermal state and repeated protocol. The cited evidence does not establish a Dimensity 9300 single-core result for a direct comparison, nor does it provide matched graphics, sustained-load or power-consumption results.
Use these scores as database references, not a definitive shootout. A meaningful phone-level comparison would need comparable devices, repeated tests, the same benchmark versions and conditions, and additional workloads such as sustained gaming and power draw.

Do MediaTek’s performance claims compare it with Tensor G6?
No. In its November 6, 2023 launch announcement, MediaTek claimed nearly 46% higher GPU performance at the same power and 40% lower GPU power consumption at the same performance, comparing the Dimensity 9300 with the Dimensity 9200. Those are manufacturer claims about a previous-generation MediaTek chip, not independent measurements and not comparisons with Tensor G6.

Which chip should you choose?
The specifications alone do not settle which phone is the better buy. Tensor G6’s reported CPU, GPU and TPU configuration and Dimensity 9300’s published hardware describe different designs, but the available evidence does not show which is better across everyday use, gaming, battery life or AI features.

- For gaming: compare sustained graphics performance and temperatures in the specific phones you are considering; the cited evidence contains no matched gaming test.
- For AI features: check the phone’s actual supported features and software, rather than inferring capability from APU or TPU labels.
- For connectivity: verify the phone’s regional model, supported bands, carrier compatibility and antenna implementation. Chip-level connectivity support does not guarantee identical service across devices.
- For an overall purchase: compare the actual phones’ cooling, cameras, software, support, connectivity and price. A chip comparison is not a substitute for a device comparison.
Android Central identifies the Pixel 11 Pro XL as a Tensor G6 phone. It is one reported implementation, not evidence that every Tensor G6 device will perform identically; confirm current model availability and specifications with the seller or manufacturer before buying.
