The Dimensity 9300+ and Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 use different CPU designs, and available benchmark snapshots do not establish a universal winner. MediaTek specifies four Cortex-X4 and four Cortex-A720 CPU cores for the 9300+; Qualcomm lists a Kryo CPU and Adreno graphics for the 8s Gen 4. Which phone performs better depends on the handset’s cooling, power limits, software, and workload—not just its chip name.
How the two chips differ
MediaTek’s Dimensity 9300+ is an all-big-core design: it combines four Cortex-X4 cores with four Cortex-A720 cores. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 uses a Kryo CPU and Adreno graphics; its product brief identifies the platform as SM8735 and specifies a 4 nm process. These are platform specifications, not guarantees of how a particular phone will perform.

Clock speeds describe maximum listed frequencies, not total performance. The chips have different CPU core designs, and phone-level results also depend on cooling, power limits, software, and the task being run.

The available results point in different directions depending on the source and sample. NanoReview’s comparison page, accessed October 7, 2026, displays aggregate scores that favor the Dimensity 9300+ in the listed tests. The figures are changing aggregations, not a controlled test of both chips in otherwise identical phones.

A separate 91mobiles comparison reports AnTuTu readings of 1,981,630 for its Dimensity 9300+ example and 2,366,913 for its Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 example. Those are device-based readings from that page, not general scores for every phone using either chip. The page also has discrepancies between some summary and benchmark-detail values, so its AnTuTu readings should not be combined with the NanoReview aggregates as if they were one test series.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Why there is no reliable universal benchmark winner
The two sources produce materially different AnTuTu readings, and the available results do not document a same-phone, controlled head-to-head test. Aggregated or device-based scores depend on the tested handset, benchmark version, software, and test conditions; a score from one sample cannot establish how every phone with that processor will behave.
Qualcomm’s product brief puts the caveat plainly: “Results will vary depending on OEM implementation and other factors.” For a meaningful phone-to-phone decision, compare results from the exact models under the same named benchmark version and conditions. For gaming, sustained performance and thermals matter in addition to a short peak score.

Use the chip comparison as one input, then assess the complete handset. The available platform specifications and benchmark snapshots do not establish differences in battery life, camera quality, software support, sustained gaming, price, or regional availability.
- Performance: Look for measured CPU and GPU results for the exact phone models, with the benchmark and version identified.
- Sustained gaming and heat: Seek device-specific evidence from longer workloads; peak clocks alone do not show whether a phone can maintain performance.
- Battery life: Compare testing on the actual models, since battery capacity and power management are handset-level factors.
- Display and cameras: Check the panel and camera hardware in each regional model rather than inferring them from the processor.
- Software support: Verify each phone maker’s update policy for the exact model and market.
- Price and availability: Compare current offers and exact regional variants where you plan to buy.
The 91mobiles page names the vivo X200 FE as a Dimensity 9300+ example and the OnePlus Nord 6 as a Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 example. These are examples listed by that comparison page, not a complete or official device catalog. Confirm the exact market variant and current availability before making a purchase decision.
