There is not enough like-for-like evidence to call either the Dimensity 7300 Max or Dimensity 7400 Ultra the clear winner. MediaTek’s official pages cover the base Dimensity 7300 and 7400 platforms, not a complete specification comparison of the Max and Ultra variants. Those base platforms share the same listed CPU core arrangement and GPU, while the 7400’s maximum Cortex-A78 clock is 100 MHz higher. Published benchmark figures are from different device contexts, so they cannot settle the exact-variant comparison.
What the official specifications establish
MediaTek’s Dimensity 7300 specifications and Dimensity 7400 specifications describe the base platforms. realme’s official comparison confirms that the branded names Dimensity 7300 Max and Dimensity 7400 Ultra are used in consumer phone comparisons. The base-platform figures below should not be taken as a guarantee that every Max or Ultra handset implements every supported feature.
| Specification | Dimensity 7300 platform | Dimensity 7400 platform | What it means for a phone buyer |
|---|---|---|---|
| CPU | 4 Cortex-A78 cores up to 2.5 GHz, plus 4 Cortex-A55 cores | 4 Cortex-A78 cores up to 2.6 GHz, plus 4 Cortex-A55 cores | The 7400 platform lists a 100 MHz higher maximum A78 clock. That difference alone does not establish a corresponding real-world performance gain. |
| GPU | Arm Mali-G615 MC2 | Arm Mali-G615 MC2 | The listed GPU designation is the same; sustained performance also depends on handset cooling and power limits. |
| Memory support | LPDDR4x or LPDDR5, up to 6400 Mbps | LPDDR4x or LPDDR5, up to 6400 Mbps | Check the actual RAM type and capacity in the phone model and regional SKU. |
| Storage support | UFS 3.1 | UFS 2.2 or UFS 3.1 | Platform support does not identify which storage standard a particular retail phone uses. |
| Display support | WFHD+ at 120 Hz or FHD+ at 144 Hz | WFHD+ at 120 Hz or FHD+ at 144 Hz | The phone determines the installed screen’s resolution and refresh rate. |
| Imaging support | Up to 200 MP sensor and 4K video at 30 fps | Up to 200 MP sensor and 4K video at 30 fps | Supported sensor and capture limits do not determine camera quality; hardware and image processing matter. |
| Wireless platform features | Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4 and 5G capabilities | Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4 and 5G capabilities | Supported bands and enabled features can vary by handset and market. |
What the available benchmark results show
91mobiles reports the following results for tested devices in its Dimensity 7300 Max versus Dimensity 7400 comparison. The second chip is labelled Dimensity 7400, not Dimensity 7400 Ultra.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:

| Dimensity 7400 | 979,430 | 1,084 | 3,015 |
These are reported device-test results, not guaranteed scores for every handset using either chip. In this comparison, the 7300 Max device has the higher reported AnTuTu result, while the 7400 device has higher reported Geekbench single- and multi-core results. The different outcomes are not a controlled verdict on the exact Max-versus-Ultra pair.

Separately, 91mobiles’ Dimensity 7400 Ultra listing reports 1,047,842 as the highest recorded AnTuTu result among tested devices using that chip. It is a device-tested maximum from that listing, not a matched comparison against a Dimensity 7300 Max phone. Combining that peak with a score from a different device or test context would not produce a fair head-to-head result.
Why benchmarks may differ between phones
A chipset name does not fix a phone’s benchmark result. Cooling design, firmware, RAM, storage, benchmark version and power settings can all affect a run. Results also depend on the particular phone tested, so small score differences should not be read as a universal ranking of the processors.

No controlled, same-method comparison of phones using these two exact branded variants is established by the cited results. MediaTek also makes promotional performance and efficiency claims; those are vendor claims, not independent benchmark measurements.

The base 7300 and 7400 platforms list the same Mali-G615 MC2 GPU, so the published platform specifications do not establish a graphics advantage for either exact variant. A phone’s sustained gaming experience depends on how it manages heat and power as well as its display, memory configuration and software. Compare gaming tests for the exact handsets you are considering, especially longer sessions rather than a single short benchmark run.
