Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 leads in the available AnTuTu 11 and Geekbench 6 comparison, but the result is provisional: NanoReview reports fewer than three Snapdragon samples, and benchmark scores vary by phone and test setup. The chip specifications also differ in areas such as modem claims and supported components. For a buying decision, compare the complete phone models and their regional variants—not just the processor name.

Quick comparison

Specification Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 Dimensity 6400 / Turbo
CPU 64-bit Kryo CPU, up to 2.4 GHz (Qualcomm: product specifications) Eight cores: 2 × Arm Cortex-A76 up to 2.5 GHz and 6 × Cortex-A55 up to 2.0 GHz (MediaTek: product specifications)
Manufacturing process 4 nm (Qualcomm product page) 6 nm, as described by MediaTek (press release)
Graphics Adreno; supports OpenGL ES 3.2, Vulkan 1.3 and OpenCL 3.0 (Qualcomm product page) Mali-G57 MC2 (MediaTek product page)
Memory and storage support not stated on the cited Qualcomm product page LPDDR4x up to 2133 MHz; UFS 2.2 (MediaTek product page)
Display capability 90 FPS gaming support promoted by Qualcomm; maximum display resolution and refresh rate not stated on the cited product page Up to 2520 × 1080 resolution and 120 Hz (MediaTek product page)
Peak 5G download Up to 2.8 Gbps; peak upload up to 0.9 Gbps (Qualcomm product page) Up to 3.3 Gbps downlink (MediaTek product page)
Wi-Fi and Bluetooth Wi-Fi 5; Bluetooth 5.1 (Qualcomm product page) Wi-Fi 5; Bluetooth 5.2 (MediaTek product page)

The “Turbo” name needs qualification. MediaTek’s official page documents the Dimensity 6400, not a separate Turbo SKU; 91mobiles uses the Dimensity 6400 Turbo name for a processor in the realme 16. The exact technical distinction, if any, between that branding and the documented base chip is not established by those official MediaTek materials.

Which chipset is faster in benchmarks?

NanoReview’s comparison reports higher Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 results across its listed AnTuTu 11 and Geekbench 6 tests. These are aggregated figures, not official vendor benchmarks. The Snapdragon sample count is fewer than three, while NanoReview indicates 11 Dimensity tests for AnTuTu and eight for Geekbench 6. Treat the Snapdragon results especially as an early indication rather than a settled ranking.

Benchmark Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 Dimensity 6400
AnTuTu 11 total 624,021; fewer than 3 Snapdragon samples (NanoReview: comparison) 581,041; NanoReview indicates 11 tests
Geekbench 6 single-core 976; fewer than 3 Snapdragon samples (NanoReview comparison) 803; NanoReview indicates 8 tests
Geekbench 6 multi-core 2,250; fewer than 3 Snapdragon samples (NanoReview comparison) 2,047; NanoReview indicates 8 tests

AnTuTu combines CPU, graphics, memory and user-experience components, while Geekbench’s figures here are CPU single- and multi-core scores. Results depend on the handset, configuration, cooling, software and benchmark version, so scores from different devices should not be treated as a controlled head-to-head test.

A separate Dimensity 6400 Turbo phone result

91mobiles reports AnTuTu 611,679 and Geekbench 6 results of 812 single-core and 2,068 multi-core for its tested Dimensity 6400 Turbo device, identified as the realme 16 (processor page). Those are results from one device-testing source, not a universal score for every phone using the chip. They differ from NanoReview’s Dimensity aggregation, illustrating why the figures should be kept separate rather than averaged into a synthetic result.

What the specification differences mean

CPU and graphics

The listed CPU arrangements and clock rates are not enough to predict which phone will feel faster in every task. Qualcomm says the Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 supports 90 FPS gaming and describes its GPU as 77% improved over the previous generation. That is Qualcomm’s generational claim, not a measured advantage over the Dimensity 6400. MediaTek’s release says gaming power consumption is “up to 19% less” than competing chipsets; this, too, is a vendor claim rather than an independently reproduced comparison with this Snapdragon.

Modem claims and connectivity

MediaTek lists a higher peak downlink figure, up to 3.3 Gbps versus Qualcomm’s 2.8 Gbps, but peak theoretical rates do not establish real-world speed. MediaTek also describes Release 16 Sub-6 5G and 2CC carrier aggregation. Actual performance depends on the phone’s supported bands and radio design, SIM configuration, carrier aggregation implementation and local network. Check the precise model and regional SKU against the bands used by your carrier.

Platform support versus phone features

Chipset support defines capabilities a manufacturer may use; it does not guarantee that every phone implements them. For example, MediaTek lists support for a display up to 120 Hz and a camera up to 108 MP, but the handset maker chooses the actual panel and sensor. The same principle applies to memory, storage, camera processing and software features: verify the phone’s specification, not just the processor’s ceiling.

How to choose between phones using these chips

There is no definitive winner for every buyer based on the available benchmark samples. Compare the actual models with these checks, prioritizing the features you use most:

  • Performance: Look for tests using the same benchmark version and comparable settings. For gaming, favor sustained frame-rate and thermal testing over a short peak score or advertised frame-rate ceiling.
  • Configuration: Compare RAM capacity and type, storage capacity and standard, and cooling design. These can influence responsiveness and benchmark totals.
  • Screen and cameras: Compare the installed display and camera sensors; chipset capability does not tell you which components the phone includes.
  • Network compatibility: Check the exact regional model’s 5G bands, carrier aggregation, SIM operation and carrier support.
  • Ownership factors: Compare price, battery life, charging and software support. These handset-level differences may matter more than the gap between synthetic scores.

Phone availability and naming

91mobiles identifies the realme 16 as a phone using Dimensity 6400 Turbo, but availability and specifications can vary by market. Qualcomm’s May 7, 2026 announcement said Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 phones from global OEMs including Honor, OPPO, realme and REDMI were expected in the second half of 2026 (announcement). That was a forward-looking statement; it does not by itself verify that a particular handset is available in a given country now. Confirm the exact model, region and current listing before comparing phones.
