The Dimensity 6400 Max is the newer, 5G-capable platform, while Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 665 is an older LTE chip. The published specifications show a higher maximum CPU clock for the Dimensity platform, and available AnTuTu device results favor a phone using it. Those benchmark figures come from different devices, however, so they do not establish a universal performance gap.
Key differences at a glance
| Specification | Dimensity 6400 Max / Dimensity 6400 platform | Snapdragon 665 |
|---|---|---|
| CPU | realme identifies the 6400 Max as an octa-core chip up to 2.5 GHz. MediaTek’s Dimensity 6400 page specifies 2 Cortex-A76 cores up to 2.5 GHz and 6 Cortex-A55 cores up to 2.0 GHz. | Kryo 260, 64-bit, up to 2 GHz; Qualcomm describes four performance cores and four efficiency cores. |
| GPU | Arm Mali-G57 MC2 | Adreno 610 |
| Manufacturing process | 6 nm, as stated by realme for the 15T 5G | 11 nm, according to Qualcomm |
| Cellular connectivity | MediaTek lists 2G, 3G, 4G and Release 16 5G, with peak downlink capability up to 3.3 Gbps. | Snapdragon X12 LTE modem; Qualcomm lists maximum download speeds up to 600 Mbps. |
| Memory and storage support | MediaTek’s Dimensity 6400 platform page lists LPDDR4x and UFS 2.2; this is platform context, not separately verified Max-specific documentation. |
Sources: MediaTek Dimensity 6400 specifications, Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 specifications, and realme 15T 5G specifications. MediaTek’s page covers the Dimensity 6400 rather than documenting a separate 6400 Max variant; do not assume the two have identical specifications beyond what the published evidence supports.
Which chip is faster?
The available AnTuTu figures favor the Dimensity 6400 Max phone, but they are device-level results rather than a controlled chip-to-chip comparison. 91mobiles reports 448,625 for a tested Dimensity 6400 Max phone and 184,721 on its Snapdragon 665 device page. The results were not collected in a matched test using the same phone, software, memory configuration, thermals and benchmark conditions.

The same source family reports Geekbench scores of 799 single-core and 2,049 multi-core for the Dimensity 6400 Max comparison page, versus 1,520 single-core and 5,385 multi-core for the Snapdragon 665 processor page. The test versions and matching device conditions are not established in the available figures, and the apparent reversal makes these numbers unsuitable for a direct performance ranking. Do not treat either set as a universal chip score or calculate a reliable percentage advantage from them.

For an actual phone, performance can vary with the handset’s cooling, software, memory and configuration as well as the test version. The safest conclusion is that the Dimensity 6400 Max is the newer platform and its tested phone has a higher reported AnTuTu result; the available figures do not prove an exact, general-purpose speed multiplier. 91mobiles benchmark pages
5G versus LTE: the clearest practical difference
The Dimensity 6400 platform includes a Release 16 5G modem. MediaTek specifies peak downlink capability up to 3.3 Gbps; this is a manufacturer capability figure, not a promise of real-world network speed. Coverage, carrier and local network conditions affect what a phone can achieve.

Qualcomm lists the Snapdragon 665 with an X12 LTE modem and maximum download speeds up to 600 Mbps. Its product specification describes LTE and does not list 5G support. The two peak figures refer to different cellular generations and should not be read as a like-for-like speed test.

Choose a Dimensity 6400 Max phone if 5G or a newer platform matters
The 6400 Max is confirmed in realme’s 15T 5G specifications as a 6 nm octa-core chip reaching up to 2.5 GHz, paired with Mali-G57 MC2 graphics. That makes a phone built around it the clear option between these two if you need 5G capability, subject to the phone’s regional configuration and network support.

Consider a Snapdragon 665 phone if you are evaluating an existing LTE handset
The Snapdragon 665 remains an LTE-era platform with a Kryo 260 CPU up to 2 GHz and Adreno 610 graphics. The chip comparison alone cannot determine whether a particular phone is a good purchase: its price, display, battery, software support and regional model configuration also matter.

The Dimensity 6400 Max is the more modern choice on the specifications documented here: it brings 5G, a higher stated maximum CPU clock and a 6 nm process in the realme 15T 5G. Device-level AnTuTu reporting also favors the tested Dimensity phone, but the results are not a controlled head-to-head benchmark. Compare complete phone models rather than treating chipset scores as a guarantee of everyday speed.
