The Dimensity 7300X has the stronger listed CPU and newer graphics, memory, storage, and wireless capabilities. But there is an important naming caveat: MediaTek’s official specifications page is for the Dimensity 6360, not the 6360 Max, so those specifications should not automatically be treated as confirmed for the Max variant. Published benchmark results also come from different phones, not a controlled head-to-head test.
Dimensity 6360 Max vs Dimensity 7300X: specifications
The table compares MediaTek’s official Dimensity 6360 listing with its Dimensity 7300X listing. Because the official 6360 page does not identify the Max variant, its column is a reference point rather than a verified specification sheet for every 6360 Max phone.
| Specification | Dimensity 6360 (official reference) | Dimensity 7300X |
|---|---|---|
| CPU | 2 Cortex-A76 cores up to 2.4 GHz and 6 Cortex-A55 cores up to 2.0 GHz | 4 Cortex-A78 cores up to 2.5 GHz and 4 Cortex-A55 cores |
| GPU | Mali-G57 MC2 | Mali-G615 |
| Manufacturing process | 6 nm, as described on MediaTek’s product page | 4 nm-class, as described on MediaTek’s product page |
| Memory | LPDDR4x, maximum frequency 2133 MHz | LPDDR4x or LPDDR5; MediaTek lists speeds up to 6400 Mbps |
| Storage | UFS 2.2 | UFS 3.1 |
| Display support | Up to 2520 × 1080 at 120 Hz | WFHD+ at 120 Hz or FHD+ at 144 Hz |
| Camera platform | Up to 108 MP | Up to 200 MP; 4K HDR capture listed |
| Wireless | Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.2 | Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.4 |
| Foldable positioning | No special foldable positioning stated on the cited page | Support for dual-display flip-style foldables |

What the specification differences mean in a phone
CPU and graphics
The 7300X pairs four newer Cortex-A78 performance cores with four Cortex-A55 cores, while the official 6360 listing pairs two Cortex-A76 cores with six Cortex-A55 cores. On architecture alone, that gives the 7300X the stronger-looking CPU arrangement; it is not a controlled benchmark result. The 7300X also uses the newer Mali-G615 graphics family versus the 6360 listing’s Mali-G57 MC2. Actual gaming performance and sustained speed still depend on the phone’s cooling, software, and power management.
#1 Best Overall
- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Memory, storage, and connectivity
The 7300X platform lists optional LPDDR5 memory, UFS 3.1 storage, Wi-Fi 6E, and Bluetooth 5.4. The official 6360 page lists LPDDR4x, UFS 2.2, Wi-Fi 5, and Bluetooth 5.2. These platform options do not guarantee that a particular handset uses the fastest supported memory or has the same storage configuration; check the phone’s own specifications.
Display, camera, and foldable features
Display resolutions and refresh rates in chipset listings are platform ceilings, not promises about the screen in a phone. Likewise, support for a camera sensor up to a stated megapixel count does not establish image quality, which also depends on the sensor, lenses, image processing, and manufacturer tuning.

The 7300X has a specific dual-display flip-phone focus. In a May 30, 2024 announcement, MediaTek said it was designed with flip-style foldables in mind and supports dual displays. The MediaTek announcement is relevant if you are considering that form factor, but the phone maker’s implementation determines the finished device’s features.
Which is faster: Dimensity 6360 Max or Dimensity 7300X?
The listed CPU and GPU designs point to the Dimensity 7300X as the more capable platform on paper. Available benchmark figures do not establish a precise performance gap because they were recorded on different devices rather than in a controlled comparison of phones using the two chips under the same conditions.

Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Which chipset should you choose?
Choose between complete phones rather than chipset names alone. The 7300X’s listed platform advantages make it the stronger paper choice when the phones are otherwise comparable, particularly if newer connectivity or foldable support matters. For a 6360 Max phone, verify its exact hardware against the manufacturer’s specification sheet instead of assuming every base-6360 feature applies.
