There is no independently verified “best” digital-asset PR firm for 2026. The right choice depends on the communications job you need done: a token-generation event (TGE), sustained editorial coverage, founder visibility, technical storytelling, institutional reputation, regional reach, or a wider marketing program. The firms below are credible starting points because their 2026 materials show relevant services or case studies, but their client counts, placement totals and campaign results are self-reported. Treat this as a shortlist to investigate, not a universal ranking.

What digital-asset PR includes

Digital-asset PR is an umbrella term rather than one standardized service. An agency may sell one or several of the following:

  • Editorial media relations: pitching independently written stories to reporters and editors at crypto-native, financial, technology or mainstream outlets.
  • Launch communications: preparing a narrative, press materials, briefings and a media schedule for a mainnet release, token launch, product release or TGE.
  • Founder and executive visibility: arranging interviews, contributed commentary, podcasts, conference appearances and a consistent point of view for leadership.
  • Narrative and positioning: translating protocol mechanics, token utility, custody, tokenization or infrastructure into language a target audience can understand.
  • Content and campaigns: reports, explainers, websites, social programs, events, influencer work or paid distribution that may sit beside PR rather than inside it.
  • Reputation and issues work: preparing responses to hacks, outages, regulatory questions, contentious governance votes or market shocks.

Ask an agency to label each proposed activity. A journalist’s independently edited article is not the same product as a paid article, a syndicated press release or a sponsored post. The audience, editorial control, disclosure and credibility are different.

Shortlist of digital-asset PR firms

The table summarizes what each firm’s 2026 materials publicly support. “Company-reported” means the figure or claim comes from the agency itself, not an independent audit.

Firm Capabilities or examples shown in 2026 materials Figures and qualifications Best fit to investigate
Promethean PR Journalist-led Web3 PR for crypto, blockchain, real-world assets and AI-agent teams; editorial media relations, founder thought leadership, campaign strategy, podcast placement, expert commentary and narrative development. Says it has secured earned coverage in CoinDesk, Cointelegraph, Rolling Stone, Forbes, Benzinga and BeInCrypto. These are agency claims. A milestone-led launch, technical narrative or sustained founder program. Its site recommends planning three to six months around a mainnet, TGE or major product release; that is a suggested approach, not an industry benchmark.
Transform Group TransformPR media relations, podcasts and thought leadership, with related service lines for strategy, tokenomics, events and social. Founded in 2013 and says it has served more than 400 clients. Both figures are company-reported. A team that wants PR connected to tokenomics, events or social planning rather than a media-only engagement.
Aspectus Broader communications and marketing: positioning and messaging, websites, digital marketing, campaigns and content, PR and communications. Its digital-assets work includes Broctagon and CoinCover. CoinCover Head of Marketing Eleanor Gaywood praised an Aspectus report as a catalyst for conversations and brand building in a testimonial hosted by Aspectus; it is a client quote, not independent validation. An organization needing integrated positioning, content, web and PR, especially when the buyer is addressing institutional or financial-services audiences.
EAK Digital Web3 and digital-finance case studies involving Gate, Wanchain, Theta and Neo. The named projects show that the agency presents relevant work; the pages do not establish comparative performance or typical outcomes. A buyer that wants to examine examples across protocols and digital-finance brands before requesting references.
Drofa Comms Case studies involving Mercuryo, XIVE, LATAM fintech and crypto visibility, B2PRIME and Yield Basis; describes individualized PR strategies. Case-study descriptions are agency-published and should be checked with references for scope, dates and results. A company prioritizing tailored strategy or regional work, particularly a Latin American visibility brief.
Luna PR Web3 and blockchain described as a foundational practice, alongside expansion into other sectors. Reports 500+ clients, more than 10 years, three global hubs and a team of 65+ people. These are company-reported figures. A larger, multi-region operation that needs capacity across hubs; confirm which specialists would actually be assigned.

A June 5, 2026 comparison published by Coinbound lists additional providers and distinguishes full-service work, placement-focused services, B2B positioning, mainstream-media crossover and boutique attention. Because that article is agency-authored and expresses editorial judgments, use it as a lead list rather than a neutral ranking.

How to match a firm to your communications objective

Token launch or TGE

Prioritize launch sequencing, risk review, exchange and ecosystem communications, spokesperson preparation and a realistic media calendar. Ask whether the team can begin several months before the event and how it handles a delayed launch, an oversubscribed sale or a sudden market move. Promethean PR’s three-to-six-month recommendation is one agency’s planning guidance, not proof that every launch requires that duration.

Ongoing earned media

Look for named reporters and editors the team regularly works with, a system for finding newsworthy angles and a cadence for briefings. Request examples of ordinary campaigns, not only the largest headline placements. Clarify whether the retainer includes pitching, follow-up, interview preparation and measurement.

Founder thought leadership

Choose a firm that can turn a leader’s technical or policy view into repeatable commentary without making unsupported market promises. Confirm who drafts bylines, who approves them, how conflicts are handled and whether podcast, event and broadcast opportunities are included or billed separately.

Technical or institutional explanation

Protocols, custody providers, tokenization companies and infrastructure vendors often need diagrams, research, analyst briefings and plain-language explanations in addition to announcements. An integrated communications firm such as Aspectus may be worth examining when web, content and positioning work must align with PR.

Regional or multilingual visibility

Ask where the agency’s staff and media relationships are located, which outlets are genuinely local and whether translation is performed by specialists. Drofa Comms presents LATAM fintech and crypto visibility as one case-study area; verify the countries, languages and current contacts relevant to your brief.

Broader growth program

If you also need social, events, influencers, paid distribution or tokenomics support, compare the total operating model rather than assuming a PR retainer covers everything. Transform Group’s related service lines illustrate how those functions may be bundled, but obtain a written scope for each one.

Placement types: ask what you are actually buying

Placement What it means Questions for the agency
Earned editorial A reporter or editor independently decides whether and how to cover the story. The outlet controls the final copy. Which outlets are realistic? Who is pitching? What happens if no editor accepts the story? Are corrections and updates handled?
Paid or syndicated press release Your release is distributed through a paid service or reproduced by partner sites, usually with limited editorial scrutiny. Which network receives it, what labeling appears, and how much of the fee is distribution versus agency work?
Sponsored post or advertorial You pay for placement or content under the outlet’s commercial terms, normally with a disclosure. What disclosure will readers see, who owns the content, and can the agency provide the outlet’s written policy?
Commentary, podcast or event appearance A spokesperson contributes to a discussion, interview or panel; the format may be editorial, commercial or invitation-based. Is the appearance earned, sponsored or pay-to-play? Who prepares the speaker and what audience data is supplied?

Do not let a large impression number obscure the placement type. A list of logos or a “media reach” total is not equivalent to independently edited coverage in the audience that matters to your business.

A due-diligence framework before signing

1. Define the job and audience

Write a one-page brief stating the business outcome, launch or reporting date, target readers, regions, prohibited claims, spokespeople and success measures. Distinguish crypto-native developers and traders from institutional buyers, regulators, mainstream consumers or financial journalists.

2. Request comparable, recent proof

Ask for two or three references from the same category—such as a protocol, exchange, wallet, infrastructure company, tokenization project or financial-services brand. Request dates, scope, team members, placement type and typical results. Agency case studies are useful for finding examples, but they are not an apples-to-apples performance dataset.

3. Identify the actual team

Get names and roles for the account lead, media lead, strategist, writer and senior sponsor. Ask how much time the senior people will spend on your account, what happens during leave and whether subcontractors or regional partners are involved.

4. Make the scope and exclusions explicit

Have the proposal list media pitching, messaging, press materials, briefing books, monitoring, crisis support, content, social, events, influencers, paid distribution, translation and travel separately. Confirm revision limits, response times, meeting cadence and ownership of finished materials.

5. Agree on measurement

Useful reporting can include qualified placements, message pull-through, share of relevant conversation, executive opportunities, referral traffic, sign-ups or pipeline influenced. Define attribution windows and tracking methods before launch. “Impressions” alone cannot show whether the right people saw or trusted the message.

6. Set approval and disclosure rules

Specify who approves factual claims, token or performance language, client names, quotes, images and sponsored disclosures. Establish a rapid process for correcting an inaccurate article or responding to a security incident. Never assume an agency can conceal a paid relationship from an outlet’s required labeling.

Interpreting agency numbers and case studies

Published figures need their publisher and context attached. Transform Group’s “more than 400 clients” and Luna PR’s “500+ clients,” “10+ years,” “three global hubs” and “65+ team members” describe those companies’ own claims as presented in 2026 materials. They do not measure quality, current capacity or fit for your project.

One Flexe.io case-study page reports 507,133 impressions in 18 days, a 1.61% engagement rate and a $2.26 cost per engagement. Those are agency-published campaign metrics, not a third-party comparison; ask what channels, spend, audience and calculation method produced them before using the numbers in a business case.

Promethean PR founder Tom Blackstone writes that projects reaching the most users are not necessarily those with the biggest budgets but those with compelling stories delivered to the right audience at the right time. That is the founder’s positioning statement, not an independently tested finding. Treat testimonials and philosophies as clues about an agency’s approach, then validate them through references and a detailed plan.

Common failure modes and how to prevent them

  • Buying volume instead of relevance: require a target-outlet list tied to your audience and a definition of a qualified placement.
  • Confusing distribution with journalism: label every line item as earned, paid, syndicated or sponsored.
  • Overpromising token outcomes: prohibit guarantees about price, exchange listings, adoption or regulatory approval.
  • Senior people disappearing after the pitch: put named staff and escalation rights in the contract.
  • Publishing technical claims without review: assign a subject-matter approver and a documented fact-check step.
  • Ignoring a crisis plan: agree in advance on monitoring, response authority, holding statements and security contacts.
  • Using vanity metrics: connect reporting to qualified audience, engagement quality and business actions, with a stated attribution method.

A practical shortlist process

  1. Prepare the one-page brief and a list of mandatory regions, audiences and dates.
  2. Invite three to five agencies whose demonstrated work matches the brief.
  3. Give each the same questions about placements, team, scope, references, reporting and disclosures.
  4. Score proposals on objective fit, relevant proof, audience access, senior involvement, governance and total scope—not on a single coverage total.
  5. Interview the proposed account team and two recent references before discussing a final retainer.
  6. Start with a written pilot or milestone plan when the agency cannot show comparable, recent work; define the decision point for renewal.

Because services, personnel and commercial terms can change, re-check every claim and reference during procurement. The firms in this article are examples to investigate, not endorsements or a ranked league table.
