Digi Power X Inc. announced on October 13, 2026, that it had secured a commitment for US$200 million in debt financing to complete a 40 MW artificial-intelligence data center in Columbiana, Alabama. The announcement describes a financing commitment—not a funded loan: closing is expected within 90 days but remains conditional on definitive documents, lender diligence and other closing requirements.
What Digi Power X announced
The proposed borrowing is being syndicated by Goldman Sachs. Digi Power X has not identified the lending institution, and the company cautions that the transaction could close on different terms or fail to close. The commitment is arranged at a project special-purpose-vehicle level. Digi Power X would provide an unsecured guarantee through project completion and for limited other matters, rather than pledging the entire corporate balance sheet on the terms disclosed so far.
Proceeds are intended to finish the Alabama project and pay related project costs while preserving corporate liquidity and reducing the need for additional equity issuance. Chairman and CEO Michel Amar called the commitment “an important step toward completing our Alabama campus while limiting dilution for our shareholders.”
How large the Columbiana project will be
The campus is planned in two construction phases. The company’s schedule calls for 15 MW of IT load in the first phase and an additional 25 MW in the second, for 40 MW in total.

Data Center Dynamics reported that construction remained on track and that Cerebras had signed for the site’s full capacity. A signed capacity commitment is an important commercial milestone, but it is separate from energizing the facility, completing the build, installing equipment and generating billable revenue.
What the financing does—and does not—mean for shareholders
Debt can fund construction without immediately issuing new shares, which is why Digi Power X framed the commitment as a way to limit potential dilution. It also creates repayment and financing obligations. The final interest rate, maturity, covenants, fees, security package and other economic terms were not disclosed in the announcement, so investors cannot yet calculate the project’s eventual debt service or its effect on earnings.

At the announcement date, Digi Power X reported approximately US$135 million in cash and approximately US$153 million in 2026 year-to-date capital expenditures. The company said it had issued no shares under its at-the-market equity program during the third quarter of 2026. Those figures describe liquidity and spending at one point in time; they do not guarantee that the Alabama build can be completed within the announced financing amount.

Customer and infrastructure technology
Cerebras is the disclosed customer for the site’s full planned capacity. Digi Power X also said its first ARMS 200 modular data center had operated successfully since May 2026 in support of its GPU bare-metal business. In that model, customers obtain dedicated computing access without building or managing the underlying facility themselves.

A partnership with Super Micro Computer supports dedicated bare-metal access to NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs. Digi Power X is expanding this strategy through its NeoCloudz platform and ARMS modular systems. President Alec Amar described the company’s approach at NVIDIA GTC Berlin as owning “the whole stack, from the power to the data center to the computer.” The statement is a description of the company’s strategy, not a guarantee of future performance or pricing.

Digi Power X says it plans to expand AI-token-factory infrastructure through NeoCloudz and its proprietary modular systems. It also plans to repurpose New York sites into AI-token factories using closed-loop cooling intended to reduce routine evaporative water use. These are forward-looking company plans; the Alabama financing announcement does not establish completion dates, funding terms or operating results for those projects.

Key milestones to watch
- Financial close: definitive documentation, diligence and closing conditions must be completed within the expected 90-day window.
- Phase 1 delivery: the 15 MW target is December 2026, subject to construction, equipment, power and permitting availability.
- Phase 2 delivery: the additional 25 MW is targeted for March 2027.
- Commercial operation: contracted capacity must become energized, equipped and billable before it produces the expected revenue.
- Execution risk: cost overruns, delays, GPU and labor supply, counterparties, financing obligations, AI and high-performance-computing demand, economic conditions and interest rates could alter the outcome.
The company’s existing ARMS 200 operating history provides evidence that one modular deployment is running. It does not prove that the larger Alabama campus, its customer rollout or the proposed financing will be completed on schedule.

Digi Power X has announced a substantial project-level debt commitment for a 40 MW Alabama AI data center with a disclosed anchor customer and a two-stage construction plan. The critical distinction is status: as of October 13, 2026, the US$200 million was committed but not yet funded. Investors should treat the 90-day closing expectation, December 2026 and March 2027 completion targets, future revenue and expansion plans as execution-dependent until the financing closes and capacity is delivered.
