The claim that an Asia chip selloff caused $800 million in liquidations, with tokenized SanDisk bets exceeding XRP, is not confirmed by the available reporting. The key details are missing: the product and ticker, trading venue, time window, liquidation measure, and source for the $800 million figure. A separate CoinGlass snapshot summarized by Coinotag shows SanDisk liquidations below XRP’s—not above it—but covers a different, unspecified reporting window and cannot settle what happened in the headline’s alleged event.

What the available figures do—and do not—show

Coinotag, citing a CoinGlass table of the 20 most-liquidated assets, reported $1.835 million in SanDisk liquidations and $1.96 million in XRP liquidations. In that snapshot, SanDisk’s reported liquidations were 97% long-side. Those figures do not support a claim that SanDisk liquidations exceeded XRP’s in that particular table.

This is not a direct rebuttal of every possible SanDisk-versus-XRP comparison: the table is a separate snapshot, and its publication date and precise measurement window are not established in the available account. Coinotag also cautioned that totals can differ with venue coverage and aggregation methods. The figures cannot be treated as the source of, or a substitute for evidence about, the alleged $800 million event.

Asset Liquidations in Coinotag’s CoinGlass snapshot Reported side detail What the figure establishes
SanDisk $1.835 million 97% long-side A snapshot-specific total for the reported top-20 table; not the alleged $800 million event.
XRP $1.96 million Not stated in the cited summary A snapshot-specific total in the same table; higher than SanDisk’s in that snapshot.

Coinotag’s account does not establish the table’s publication date or exact interval. Its title refers to a $91.6 million liquidation wave over 24 hours, but that title alone does not show that the SanDisk and XRP totals use the same window or explain the separate $800 million claim. These values should not be compared as if they were a verified, market-wide tally for the headline’s alleged selloff.

Which SanDisk-linked product is being discussed?

“Tokenized SanDisk bets” is not a sufficiently precise product description. The available sources name multiple SanDisk-linked instruments, and their tickers and mechanics are not interchangeable. Without an exact ticker, issuer, and venue, it is not possible to identify which instrument generated the claimed liquidations.

  • SNDKx: Backed Assets (JE) Limited’s final terms, dated May 8, 2026, identify Sandisk Corporation as the underlying for a tokenized security called Sandisk Corporation xStock. The terms refer investors to the base prospectus and say they should assess suitability for themselves.
  • SNDKX: Pionex describes this separately as a tokenized SanDisk perpetual futures product. Its product discussion identifies leverage, funding costs, and liquidation risk as features that can apply to perpetual futures. That description does not establish that this was the instrument behind the disputed headline.
  • SNDKB: A CoinMarketCap page dated October 11, 2026 names SanDisk Tokenized bStocks. The page is an AI-generated market analysis and does not verify the alleged event.

A tokenized security and a leveraged perpetual future are different product types. The liquidation mechanics described for a futures product should not be attributed to SNDKx or SNDKB without checking the relevant product documents. Nor does the fact that a product tracks or references SanDisk establish that it traded on a particular venue during the alleged selloff.

What would be needed to verify the headline?

A reliable comparison requires matching SanDisk and XRP on the same basis. Liquidation dashboards may cover different exchanges or aggregate them differently, so a market-wide claim needs an explicit venue set and a defined interval. A headline that compares dollar totals should identify dollar value as the unit rather than leaving open whether it counts positions, contracts, or another measure.

  • Transfer with confidence when moving images and other content
  • Retractable design keeps the connector safe
  • SanDisk SecureAcces software with 128-bit AES encryption and password protection(1)
  • the exact SanDisk-linked ticker and product type, along with the venue or venues reporting the activity;
  • the start and end of the measurement window, including its time zone;
  • whether the $800 million refers to all assets liquidated, the chip sector, SanDisk alone, or another grouping;
  • the calculation method and unit for both SanDisk and XRP, using the same venue set and interval; and
  • long- and short-side totals, if the comparison is intended to describe the direction of liquidations.

Without those details, the comparison cannot be independently checked, and the phrase “Asia’s chip rout” does not establish either the geographic scope of the trading data or the cause of any liquidations. The available sources do not confirm that a chip selloff caused $800 million in liquidations.

Why Ripple Prime’s financing report is separate context

CoinDesk reported on October 8, 2026, that Ripple Prime had entered institutional financing for leveraged equity exposure, including SanDisk, using total return swaps. CoinDesk also reported that Ripple acquired Hidden Road for $1.25 billion. This describes institutional financing activity; it is not liquidation data and does not verify retail token trading, a SanDisk-versus-XRP comparison, or an Asia-linked selloff.
