The available sources do not verify that Sprints Capital raised a €725 million fund. The documented figure is €525 million: City A.M. reported in January 2022 that Sprints raised that amount for Fund IV, against a €450 million target. Sprints is the investment firm; Revolut and Vinted are companies in its portfolio, not the fund’s backers or sponsors.
What is known about the €725 million figure?
No source cited here confirms a Sprints fundraise of €725 million. The figure should therefore be treated as unverified, not as a reported close. The strongest documented amount is for a different, specifically identified fund: Sprints Capital Fund IV.
City A.M.’s January 12, 2022 report says Fund IV raised €525 million, exceeding its €450 million target. That is a reported close against a stated target—not evidence for a €725 million fund or a total across multiple funds.

Sprints Capital is the investment firm that raised Fund IV. Revolut and Vinted are companies Sprints has invested in. City A.M. reported that Fund IV had already backed Vinted and Back Market, and named Revolut among Sprints’ prior investments. Sprints’ current portfolio page also lists both Revolut, described as a finance app, and Vinted, described as a second-hand marketplace.

The distinction matters: a fundraise supplies investment capital to a fund manager, while a portfolio company’s own financing is a separate transaction. Saying that Sprints is a backer of Revolut and Vinted does not mean either company raised or sponsored Sprints’ fund.
How do the reported amounts differ?
| Amount | What it refers to | Date and source |
|---|---|---|
| €525 million | Sprints Capital Fund IV’s reported amount raised, against a €450 million target | January 2022; City A.M. |
| €150 million | Hard cap for Sprints’ debut fund; a separate earlier fund, not an addition to Fund IV | February 2018; Sprints’ news archive |
| €725 million | Not established by the cited sources as a Sprints fundraise | No confirming source identified |
The figures describe different fund vintages and measures. The €150 million figure is the debut fund’s hard cap; the €525 million figure is Fund IV’s reported amount raised. They should not be added together and presented as a single fund, nor used to imply that a €725 million close occurred.
What other transactions can cause confusion?
Vinted’s later secondary share transaction
Sprints’ news archive lists Vinted completing a secondary share transaction at an €8 billion valuation in April 2026. That valuation belongs to the transaction involving Vinted; it is not the amount raised by Sprints’ Fund IV and does not establish a Sprints fund close. A secondary share transaction is also distinct from a company issuing new shares to raise primary capital.

The same archive lists Revolut’s own $800 million raise in May 2021. That was a company fundraising event, denominated in US dollars and dated separately from Sprints’ January 2022 Fund IV close. It is not part of Sprints’ fund capital. The archive also dates Sprints’ Vinted investment to August 2019 and its participation in Vinted’s Series F to April 2021, further illustrating that portfolio investments and fund closes are different events.

City A.M. described Fund IV as a vehicle for investing in growth-stage technology companies in the UK and Europe. The report said Sprints’ existing investor base backed the fund and that the management team also provided significant support. Managing Partner Henrik Persson told the publication: “We have been investing in growth companies for the last decade.” The statement describes Sprints’ investment experience at the time of the 2022 report; it does not substantiate the separate €725 million claim.
Rank #3
For now, the precise supported account is that Sprints raised €525 million for Fund IV against a €450 million target in 2022, while its debut fund had a €150 million hard cap in 2018. The cited sources do not establish a €725 million Sprints fund.
