No—Eiichiro Oda has not been shown to have officially unveiled five Sun Gods. The current primary material confirms one explicitly named Sun God, Nika, whose existence is recorded in Elbaf’s Harley scripture. “Five Sun Gods” is therefore an unverified fan interpretation or headline claim, not an established canonical roster.
What is officially confirmed
The clearest confirmation appears in the official synopsis for One Piece Volume 112, titled 神典(ハーレイ) (“Harley”). The Japanese synopsis states that the existence of 太陽の神ニカ—Sun God Nika—is engraved in the Harley scripture. The passage ties Nika to Elbaf’s giant culture and its traditional account of the world.
Volume 112 was released on July 4, 2025. It is the directly relevant collected volume for readers following the Harley and Sun God material. Volume 111 establishes the story’s movement from the Egghead incident toward Elbaf, where the new mythology is developed.
Is there a canonical list of five Sun Gods?
Not in the official publisher material currently available. The official Volume 112 synopsis names Nika, but it does not enumerate five separate Sun Gods, identify four additional entities, or state that Oda has revealed a group of five. No authoritative count appears in the official summaries reviewed.

That distinction matters because One Piece frequently presents legends, religious language and historical fragments before explaining how they relate to the present story. A character, title or deity-like figure can be connected by fans to the Sun God concept without the manga explicitly assigning that title.
What the Harley scripture adds to One Piece lore
It places Nika inside Elbaf tradition
The Harley reference is not merely a repeated character nickname. It presents Nika as part of a written or preserved tradition associated with the giants of Elbaf. That gives the Sun God idea a cultural and historical setting that extends beyond the individual known as Nika.
It expands the unanswered history
The synopsis indicates that Elbaf’s giant tradition is being revealed, but it does not publish a complete theological catalogue. Readers therefore have confirmed evidence of Nika’s status and an open question about how the scripture describes other figures, eras or symbols.

It does not establish a numerical pattern
Nothing in the official synopsis says that the scripture contains exactly five Sun Gods. Treating the number five as fact goes beyond what the source states.

How to evaluate proposed “Sun Gods”
When a theory names several possible gods, use the same tests for each candidate:
| Test | What to verify |
|---|---|
| Primary appearance | Does the name appear in the manga or an official publisher summary? |
| Exact title | Does the text explicitly call the entity a “Sun God,” rather than assigning the role through symbolism or resemblance? |
| First appearance | Which chapter or collected volume introduces the figure? If an exact chapter is not cited by an authoritative source, do not invent one. |
| Translation | Do the Japanese wording and the English edition use the same title, or is the theory based on a translation choice? |
| Status | Is the claim confirmed canon, a reasonable inference, or fan speculation? |
Under those standards, Nika is the only Sun God directly confirmed by the cited official Volume 112 synopsis. Other proposed identities remain interpretations unless an official manga passage or publisher statement gives them the title.
What “Oda unveiled five” probably means
The wording is best understood as a theory-driven claim rather than a report of a completed reveal. Fans may be grouping multiple mythological references, characters or powers under one theme, or extrapolating from information introduced in Elbaf. Those ideas can be useful predictions, but they should be labeled as theories and separated from what the text actually says.
There is also a difference between a story revealing five references to a sun deity and revealing five distinct canonical gods. Until the manga or an official Shueisha publication makes that distinction explicit, the five-god framing should not be presented as settled lore.
Best Value
Which volume contains the relevant reveal?
Volume 112, Harley, is the key officially identified volume. Its July 4, 2025 release page describes the Elbaf scripture and says that the existence of Sun God Nika is engraved there. Volume 111 is useful context because it covers the transition into the Elbaf storyline, but the direct Nika-and-Harley confirmation is associated with Volume 112.
Where to read the confirmed material
Readers can follow the official digital release through VIZ/Shonen Jump and MANGA Plus by Shueisha. VIZ’s series listing identifies One Piece as created by Eiichiro Oda and provides its current simul-release information. MANGA Plus likewise identifies Oda and carries the official series publication. Availability, release timing and language options can vary by territory and may change.
Bottom line on the five-Sun-God headline
Oda has officially connected Nika with the title Sun God in the context of Elbaf’s Harley scripture. The official material does not confirm five Sun Gods or publish a five-name roster. Until a primary manga or Shueisha source does so, “five official Sun Gods” is a fan theory, not a canon fact.
