The claim that DeepSeek agreed to lead a seed round for robotics startup Winverse AI, valuing it at about $400 million post-money, is not corroborated by the available reporting. Searches for the claim found no matching financing report. That does not prove no announcement exists, but the round size, valuation, investors, and even the identity and robotics activity of the Winverse AI named in the headline remain unverified.
What is known about the Winverse AI funding claim?
The headline alleges that DeepSeek would lead Winverse AI’s seed funding round, with a raise of tens of millions of dollars and a post-money valuation of roughly $400 million. The available sources do not independently establish any of those transaction details. No direct announcement or reliable report confirming the deal, a named representative’s statement, or verifiable information identifying this Winverse AI as a robotics company was found.
The absence of a matching result in the searches performed is not proof that the deal did not happen. Until DeepSeek or Winverse AI publishes an announcement, or credible reporting confirms the terms, the claim should be treated as unverified rather than as a completed or agreed investment.
Why DeepSeek funding reports do not confirm a Winverse investment
Recent coverage concerns DeepSeek raising money for itself—not investing in Winverse AI. These reports provide context about DeepSeek’s own financing, but they do not verify the separate transaction alleged in the headline.
#1 Best Overall
- Reuters, via Investing.com, reported on October 6, 2026 that DeepSeek was set to raise more than 80 billion yuan, described in the report as $11.93 billion. The account attributed the details to unnamed sources.
- The Information reported on September 23, 2026 that DeepSeek was targeting 50 billion yuan, described as $7.5 billion, at a 500 billion yuan valuation in its own financing.
- A South China Morning Post report dated June 18, 2026 described a prior DeepSeek round of about 50 billion yuan and a post-investment value of about 400 billion yuan ($59.2 billion), citing a source familiar with that financing.
- Reuters reported on June 3, 2026 that DeepSeek was expected to raise about 50 billion yuan ($7.4 billion) in its first funding round, with a potential post-investment valuation of 350–400 billion yuan ($52–59 billion).
Those yuan-denominated valuations are reported figures about DeepSeek itself. They are not evidence for the headline’s alleged approximately $400 million valuation of Winverse AI.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What remains unverified
- Whether DeepSeek agreed to lead, participate in, or invest in a Winverse AI round.
- Whether the company named in the headline is a robotics startup, and its legal identity.
- The alleged round size of tens of millions of dollars and the approximately $400 million post-money valuation.
- When the financing may have occurred and which other investors, if any, took part.
A confirming announcement or credible report would need to distinguish the amount raised from the post-money valuation, identify DeepSeek’s role as lead or participant, and specify whether the figures were company-confirmed or attributed to sources.
