Not according to the strongest available evidence. A 9 October 2026 report says Bing was testing light-blue bubbles around desktop ad sitelinks—not adding verified white arrows. A separate 31 May 2026 report described a narrower, bordered sitelink design with smaller type and a hover state that turns blue text bold black. Both are interface observations, not confirmation of a permanent rollout.
What Bing is reportedly testing
Search Engine Watch reported on 9 October 2026 that Bing was testing “light blue bubbles on desktop, likely for sitelinks,” according to SEO news reporter Sachin Patel. The report said sitelinks previously used a white background and connected the test to a similar light-blue treatment recently seen on Bing’s “People also ask” questions.
That description does not verify white arrows. The reported visual change concerns the background or container around the sitelink, while the arrow detail in the headline is not established by the cited observation.

| Reported variant | Visual treatment | Typography and interaction | Context and date | Microsoft confirmation or impact data |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Light-blue bubble | Light-blue bubble or background around the sitelink | Specific arrow treatment and performance effect were not stated | Desktop observation reported 9 October 2026 | Not confirmed; no rollout or performance figures published |
| Narrow bordered format | Narrower sitelink presentation with a border | Smaller font; on hover, text changed from blue to bold black | Search-ad test reported 31 May 2026 | Not confirmed; no rollout or performance figures published |
The May report was attributed to Sachin Patel and Barry Schwartz. It describes a different test from the October light-blue treatment, so the two should not be treated as one finalized redesign.

What ad sitelinks are
Microsoft Advertising defines sitelink extensions as additional links in ads that send customers to specific pages on a website. Advertisers can use them to highlight products, services or sections such as pricing, contact pages and category pages, giving searchers more destinations than the ad’s primary headline link.
Microsoft’s API documentation says Microsoft determines which submitted links are most relevant for an ad. The documentation allows up to 10 sitelinks for an ad, although that does not mean every impression will show all 10 or that every submitted link will be selected.

Are the new sitelink bubbles live for everyone?
There is no public evidence in these reports that the light-blue bubbles—or the May bordered format—are broadly available. The observations do not establish the experiment’s geography, rollout percentage, duration, eligibility rules or whether either design has become the default. Search interfaces can vary by device, account, query, market and experiment cohort, so two users may see different sitelink treatments at the same time.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
For advertisers, the practical implication is that appearance may change without any change to the sitelink URLs or submitted copy. Check representative desktop searches in the markets where an account runs, but do not assume that one observed layout is permanent.

Do the designs improve clicks?
No measured click-through, conversion, accessibility or revenue impact was published with either report. The visual changes therefore cannot be presented as a performance improvement. A bubble, border or hover style may make secondary links more noticeable, but only controlled Microsoft data—or an advertiser’s properly segmented account data—could show whether that produces more qualified visits.
Until such data exists, evaluate sitelinks by their underlying destination and message rather than by the temporary decoration. Use distinct landing pages, descriptive link text and destinations that match the intent of the surrounding ad.

What advertisers should do now
- Review the sitelink extensions attached to active Microsoft Advertising campaigns and confirm that every destination still works.
- Use separate, intent-specific pages for products, services and support sections instead of sending every sitelink to the same page.
- Keep link text understandable without relying on color, borders or hover behavior; the reports do not establish how the tests perform for keyboard or assistive-technology users.
- Record desktop screenshots by market and date if the visual treatment matters to a brand review, because the reported tests may not appear consistently.
- Compare click and conversion data by campaign and date before attributing any change to the sitelink design. No published evidence currently isolates a design effect.
