Device Health Services is a Google system app whose published description says it estimates how long a phone’s battery may last based on usage. It is not the same app as Samsung Device Care. The exact package and version can vary by phone, so check your own Galaxy’s app details before drawing conclusions about it.
What Device Health Services does
The Device Health Services app description reproduced by APKMirror says: “Device Health Services predicts how long your phone’s battery will last based on your usage.” That describes the app’s stated purpose, not a guarantee that an estimate will be exact or that every Samsung model behaves identically.

On one documented Galaxy S10+ LTE (G975U) configuration, Samsung Knox lists Device Health Services under the package identifier com.google.android.apps.turbo and records version 1.15.0.311380394.release. Treat that as an example for that configuration, not a universal version number or proof that the same package is present on every Galaxy phone. Samsung Knox’s Galaxy S10+ LTE application list contains the inventory.

How it differs from Samsung Device Care
Despite the similar names, these are separate apps with different documented roles. Samsung identifies Device Care as a Samsung Electronics app for checking and maintaining a Galaxy phone. Samsung’s documentation also describes a route from Device Care to Samsung Members diagnostics.

| Device Health Services | Google system app; package com.google.android.apps.turbo is listed for the cited Galaxy S10+ LTE configuration |
Its published app description says it estimates battery life based on usage |
| Device Care | Samsung Electronics | Checks and maintains a Galaxy phone; Samsung documents access to Samsung Members diagnostics |
Samsung’s Device Care listing describes its phone-maintenance role. A Samsung update notice for the SM-A426U documents the Device Care route to Samsung Members diagnostics; that note concerns a specific device and update, not every Galaxy model.
How to find Device Health Services on your Galaxy
- Open Settings, then go to Apps. Search for “Device Health Services.” Menu labels can differ by One UI version.
- Open the app entry and review the details shown. If your device or an authoritative device-management view exposes the package identifier, check whether it is
com.google.android.apps.turbo. - Compare the package and version only with information for your own model and software configuration. The cited Knox inventory covers one Galaxy S10+ LTE configuration, not the whole Samsung lineup.
What to do if it appears to use a lot of battery
The available documentation does not establish that Device Health Services causes unusually high battery use on a particular phone. An estimate of remaining battery life is not evidence that the estimating app is consuming excessive power.
- Check the phone’s per-app battery-usage screen to see what is actually reported for the period you are concerned about.
- Compare readings across a relevant period rather than assuming a single observation identifies the cause.
- Consult model-specific Samsung support if the reported use is persistently unusual.
- Do not disable or remove the service solely on the basis of its name or an unexplained battery reading. The effects of disabling or removing it have not been established for every model.
Should you disable or remove it?
There is not enough model-specific evidence here to promise that disabling or removing Device Health Services is harmless, or to recommend doing so. If your concern is simply general phone condition, use Samsung Device Care; where available, its documented route can take you to Samsung Members diagnostics. If you are troubleshooting a specific issue, first verify the app entry and examine the relevant per-app usage or device support information.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesWhat is known about updates
Google’s official Google System Services release-notes archive has a Device Health Services entry dated March 18, 2024, for version 1.26.0.615753072. Its note says “General bug fixes and performance optimizations.” This is a dated historical entry, not evidence of the latest version currently available on a Samsung phone.
