The PAC-A-22K-WH-WI is described as cooling-only. In addition to cooling, its control functions include a fan mode and dehumidifier mode. “Three-in-one” describes the available functions; it does not establish how quickly the unit cools a particular room, how much moisture it removes per hour or how effective fan-only operation is.

12000 BTU versus 3.3 kW
Devanti’s product title uses “12000BTU,” while CHOICE publishes 3.3 kW as the cooling capacity. Keep both figures tied to their source instead of treating them as a tested equivalence. Neither public page supplies a room-size recommendation supported by an independent test, and the available material does not establish performance in a particular climate, insulation level or room layout.
R290 refrigerant
CHOICE identifies R290 refrigerant. R290 is a refrigerant designation, not a promise about noise, running cost or cooling speed. Follow the appliance’s safety instructions and have any sealed-system work handled by a suitably qualified technician.
Availability, price and model verification
Devanti’s listing shows AUD 1,052.99 and currently labels the product sold out. CHOICE calls it a “Discontinued model.” Price, stock and listing status are time-sensitive, so treat those figures as a snapshot rather than a standing offer. Before buying from a marketplace or clearance seller, compare the model plate or carton with “PAC-A-22K-WH-WI”; similar-looking portable units can have different manuals, hoses, apps and electrical specifications.
- Confirm that the listing names PAC-A-22K-WH-WI exactly, including every letter and hyphen.
- Ask whether the unit is new, refurbished, ex-display or a return, and what warranty applies to that condition.
- Check that the remote, window kit and exhaust hose are included rather than sold separately.
- Obtain a return path in writing if the appliance is incompatible with your window or your phone’s Wi‑Fi setup.

Installation: the window and exhaust arrangement matters
A portable compressor air conditioner still has to reject hot air. The Devanti manual includes a window-slider-kit installation section, exhaust guidance and location advice. The supplied evidence does not show an installation being performed, so the following is a reading guide to the documented requirements rather than a claim of hands-on testing.
- Choose the operating position. Leave the clearances specified in the manual, keep the air inlet and outlet unobstructed, and place the unit where the 150 cm cord can reach a suitable outlet without strain.
- Measure the window. The manual says to size the slider panels to the window. Check the opening type and dimensions before assuming the supplied kit will fit.
- Fit the slider and seal the opening. The instructions warn against gaps or air pockets. A loose panel or unsealed edge lets outdoor air back in and can undermine the purpose of exhausting hot air.
- Connect the exhaust hose. Route it to the window arrangement described by the manual, avoiding sharp kinks or crushing. The goal is to discharge hot air outdoors, not into the room, a roof cavity or an enclosed balcony.
- Check the finished path. Openings, hose joints and the window seal should remain secure when the appliance is running. Recheck them after moving the unit.
Portable units are easier to relocate than split systems, but the slider and hose are part of the cooling installation, not optional decoration. If your window is casement-style, unusually narrow, heavily screened or otherwise incompatible, resolve that fit question before purchase. Do not assume a generic hose or panel will match this model; verify PAC-A-22K-WH-WI compatibility.
Drainage and water management
Devanti promotes an automatic water-vaporisation system on the product page. The manual nevertheless includes water-drainage instructions. That combination means you should not promise yourself that the tank will never need attention: drainage requirements can vary with humidity, operating mode and conditions, and the available evidence does not establish a no-drain outcome for this exact model.

Cleaning and end-of-season care
The manual covers cabinet cleaning, air-filter cleaning and end-of-season operations. These are maintenance instructions, not evidence that the appliance stays clean without attention.
- Cabinet: Use the method and precautions in the manual; keep water away from electrical controls and openings.
- Filters: Inspect and clean the air filters at the interval and in the manner specified by Devanti. A blocked filter can restrict airflow, but no public test quantifies the effect for this model.
- Drainage: Follow the manual when removing collected water, especially before storage.
- Storage: Complete the stated end-of-season procedure, then store the hose, window components and remote where they will not be lost.
Record the model number and keep the manual with the appliance. That makes it easier to identify the correct drain procedure or replacement accessory if the original paperwork disappears.
Wi‑Fi setup and phone requirements
The official manual specifies a 2.4 GHz wireless connection, written as 2.400–2.500 GHz, using IEEE 802.11 b/g/n. It lists Android 5.0 or later and iOS 10.0 or later as minimum phone versions. Those are the manual’s requirements; they do not guarantee that a current app release, router security setting or phone will still pair successfully.

- Install the app intended for the air conditioner and allow the permissions it requests. The supplied documents do not identify a current app-store name or guarantee ongoing app availability.
- Connect your phone to a 2.4 GHz network. A router that presents only a 5 GHz network may not satisfy the documented requirement.
- Put the appliance into the appropriate pairing state, using the manual’s CF or AP reset mode instructions.
- Complete the in-app pairing steps while the phone remains on the intended home network.
- After pairing, test basic remote control near the unit before relying on remote operation from another room.
For the control-panel reset, the manual states: “On control panel, please press the ‘FAN’ button 6 times within 4 seconds.” Preserve that timing; pressing fewer times or taking longer may not invoke the reset mode.

If pairing fails
The troubleshooting section names several causes: router configuration, a hidden SSID, firewall rules, MAC filtering and DHCP. Work through them in that order of practicality:
- Make sure the router is offering a visible 2.4 GHz network and that the password is correct.
- Temporarily unhide the SSID if your network does not broadcast its name.
- Check that the router’s DHCP service can issue an address to the appliance.
- Review MAC filtering or access-control lists that could block a new device.
- Check firewall or isolation settings that prevent local devices from communicating during setup.
- Repeat the CF/AP reset and pairing sequence after changing a router setting.
The manual’s minimum operating-system versions are old enough that compatibility should be checked against the current app and your phone, rather than inferred from Android 5.0 or iOS 10.0 alone. The documents do not verify cloud-service availability, two-factor authentication, voice-assistant support or operation when the internet connection is down.

How to judge whether this discontinued model fits your needs
Start with the installation constraint, not the app. Measure the window, identify where the hose can discharge outdoors and confirm that the unit can sit near a suitable power outlet. Then decide whether a cooling-only appliance is appropriate for your climate; this model is not identified as a heater.
Next, weigh the unknowns.
