Does Delta have a daily Wi‑Fi pass? Not as a generally accepted, system-wide product. Delta says its Wi‑Fi Onboard All-Day and Delta Global passes are no longer accepted. On most aircraft equipped with Delta Sync, SkyMiles members can connect to fast Wi‑Fi at no charge. Some aircraft still use Wi‑Fi Onboard, where the onboard portal may sell a flight-specific pass. Delta’s terms also describe a 24-hour domestic pass for older Gogo-equipped service, but that wording does not prove that a 24-hour pass will work on your particular flight.
The practical answer is to check the aircraft and the Wi‑Fi portal for your itinerary. A flight pass, when offered, is different from an all-day pass, and buying one does not make Delta Sync faster than signing in with SkyMiles.
What “daily Wi‑Fi pass” can mean on Delta
Travelers use “daily pass” for several different products. Delta’s current onboard guidance separates them, and the distinction determines whether you should expect to pay.

| Option | Where it applies | What Delta says now |
|---|---|---|
| Wi‑Fi Onboard All-Day pass | Legacy Wi‑Fi Onboard service | No longer accepted on Delta flights. |
| Delta Global flight pass | Legacy pass intended for international use | No longer accepted on Delta flights. |
| 24-hour domestic pass | Gogo-equipped flights described in Delta’s Trip Extras terms | Terms describe one 24-hour period and one device at a time, but the current onboard guidance makes flight-specific verification essential. |
| Wi‑Fi Flight Pass | Some flights using Wi‑Fi Onboard | The onboard purchase portal determines whether one is offered, its price and its duration. |
| Delta Sync Wi‑Fi | Most equipped domestic flights and many international flights | Fast Wi‑Fi is free for SkyMiles members; enrollment is free. |
Because the first two legacy products are explicitly retired, buying an old pass from another source is not a reliable way to get online. The 24-hour language in the terms is best treated as a description of legacy or equipment-specific service, not a promise that every Delta flight accepts it.

Delta Sync versus Wi‑Fi Onboard
Delta Sync: the free, member-based service
Delta Sync is Delta’s newer onboard connectivity system. On most domestic U.S. flights and the majority of international flights that have it, a SkyMiles member can connect without paying a Wi‑Fi fee. You can join SkyMiles before travel at no cost if you do not already have an account.
“Most” and “majority” are not guarantees for a route. Aircraft swaps, satellite coverage, installation status and regulatory limits can change the service available on a particular segment. Delta’s booking results and pre-flight messages identify eligible flights with a “Fast, Free Wi‑Fi for SkyMiles Members” indicator. The airline also maintains a service-by-aircraft guide, which is more useful than assuming every flight in a route family has the same equipment.
Wi‑Fi Onboard: older equipment with a portal-based offer
Some Delta aircraft still display Wi‑Fi Onboard rather than Delta Sync. The portal on those flights may present a paid Wi‑Fi Flight Pass, free messaging or another limited option. Availability is decided onboard by the aircraft’s system, so a pass seen on one segment is not evidence that the same pass will appear on the return flight.

Delta says messaging is free on Wi‑Fi-capable flights. That can be enough for text-based updates even when full internet access is unavailable or paid.
How to check your flight before paying
- Look at the booking confirmation. In Delta’s itinerary or booking results, find the “Fast, Free Wi‑Fi for SkyMiles Members” indicator. Its absence does not identify the exact paid product; it means you should investigate further.
- Read the pre-flight email. Delta may identify the expected Wi‑Fi service for the aircraft assigned to your trip. Check again near departure because an equipment change can alter the offer.
- Use Delta’s Wi‑Fi service-by-aircraft list. Match the aircraft type and route, while treating the list as an availability guide rather than a guarantee against last-minute substitutions.
- Confirm the system after boarding. The network name and sign-in page reveal whether you are on Delta Sync or Wi‑Fi Onboard. Do not purchase until the portal shows the product, price and duration for that flight.
- Check the terms shown in the portal. Verify whether the pass is for the flight only, a stated number of hours or another period, and note any device restriction. Save the receipt or confirmation email.
Delta does not publish a single current price that applies across all flights. The amount shown in the onboard portal is the relevant price for that aircraft and service.
How to connect to free Delta Sync Wi‑Fi
- Turn on Airplane Mode after the aircraft permits electronic-device use.
- Turn Wi‑Fi back on while leaving Airplane Mode enabled.
- Select the Delta onboard network and open
DeltaWiFi.comif the portal does not appear automatically. - Choose the SkyMiles sign-in option and enter your credentials, or enroll for a free SkyMiles account.
- Accept the displayed terms and wait for the confirmation that internet access is active.
Use the SkyMiles login associated with the passenger who is connecting. A pass is not required for Delta Sync when the flight is marked as free for members. Delta also says purchasing a pass does not make Delta Sync faster; the connection speed is the same whether you authenticate with SkyMiles or pay.

How a paid flight pass works on Wi‑Fi Onboard
If the aircraft uses Wi‑Fi Onboard, open the portal and review the offers displayed there. A “Wi‑Fi Flight Pass” is generally tied to that flight or to the duration stated at purchase, not to every Delta flight you take during a calendar day. The portal’s wording controls the practical term.
Device and transfer limits
Delta says flight passes are non-transferable. A pass purchased for one traveler or account should not be assumed to work on another person’s device. The 24-hour domestic terms for Gogo-equipped service specify one device at a time. If you need to move from a phone to a laptop, sign out of the first device before attempting the second and follow the portal’s instructions; do not expect simultaneous use unless the offer explicitly allows it.
What a pass does not provide
- It does not revive retired Wi‑Fi Onboard All-Day or Delta Global passes.
- It does not guarantee service after an aircraft change, route change or satellite-coverage limitation.
- It does not accelerate Delta Sync compared with a free SkyMiles connection.
- It does not automatically apply to a connecting flight unless the purchase screen expressly says so.
Coverage, rollout numbers and what they mean
Delta reported more than 1,200 aircraft equipped with Delta Sync Wi‑Fi and more than 160 million customer sessions since launch in an update dated May 14, 2026. In an October 9, 2026 update, the airline said nearly 1,300 aircraft—more than 95% of its fleet—were Wi‑Fi-equipped and described a regulatory approval milestone for expanding service across the Pacific.

Those are airline-reported fleet and usage figures, not a promise that your specific aircraft will have internet. A fleet percentage includes aircraft that may operate routes with different service rules, and an aircraft can be replaced before departure. The booking indicator, aircraft guide and onboard portal remain the decisive checks.
Choosing between free access and a paid pass
| Your situation | Best first step | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Your booking shows free Wi‑Fi for SkyMiles members | Sign in or enroll in SkyMiles | Delta says Delta Sync access is free and a paid pass will not improve its speed. |
| No free-Wi‑Fi indicator, but the aircraft is Wi‑Fi-capable | Check the onboard portal | Wi‑Fi Onboard may offer a flight pass or free messaging. |
| You found an old all-day or global pass for sale elsewhere | Do not rely on it | Delta says those pass types are no longer accepted. |
| You need internet on two devices | Read the device terms before purchase | Legacy 24-hour terms specify one device at a time, and current offers can differ. |
| You have a connection to another Delta flight | Evaluate each segment separately | A flight-specific pass may not cover the next aircraft. |
Troubleshooting when Delta Wi‑Fi does not work
The portal does not open
Keep Airplane Mode on, toggle Wi‑Fi off and on, reconnect to the aircraft network and manually enter DeltaWiFi.com. Captive portals can fail to appear when a VPN, private relay or corporate security filter intercepts the connection; temporarily pause that software, then restore it after signing in.

Confirm that you are using the email address tied to the SkyMiles account, not an unrelated travel-booking login. Close duplicate portal tabs, reconnect and try once more. If the account cannot be created onboard, use the portal’s available messaging or paid option rather than purchasing a legacy pass.

You paid but changed devices
Check the receipt for the device rule and sign out on the original device if the portal provides that control. Because Delta identifies flight passes as non-transferable, customer support may not be able to move a pass to another traveler or segment.
The service disappears in flight
Onboard Wi‑Fi can be unavailable during certain phases of flight or affected by coverage and equipment conditions. Wait for the crew’s permitted-use announcement, reconnect and check whether the portal still recognizes the session. If the aircraft changed, the new system may offer a different service or no paid pass at all.
Bottom line for a Delta trip
Plan on free Delta Sync Wi‑Fi when your booking identifies it and you can sign in with SkyMiles. Do not plan around a generic daily pass: Delta has retired its All-Day and Global pass products. If your aircraft uses Wi‑Fi Onboard, inspect the onboard offer for the exact flight, duration, device rule and price. The 24-hour domestic wording in Delta’s terms may apply to specific Gogo-equipped service, but only the flight’s actual portal can confirm that it is accepted.
