The De’Longhi Pinguino PAC EM93K SILENT is a 10,500 BTU/h (2.6 kW) portable air conditioner that the manufacturer says is suitable for rooms up to 90 m³. Its key trade-off is typical of portable AC: cooling depends not only on the unit’s rating but also on room conditions and a well-sealed window exhaust setup. De’Longhi lists sound pressure at 47–50 dB(A), but that does not establish whisper-quiet bedroom operation.
Which PAC EM93K model do these specifications describe?
This review focuses on De’Longhi’s Great Britain listing for the Pinguino EM Series PACEM93K.1SILENT, SKU 0151457014. De’Longhi’s support center provides materials for that model code. An older specification sheet uses the shorter name PAC EM93K; its figures should not automatically be treated as identical to every regional listing. Confirm the suffix, local product fiche, voltage, and included accessories before buying.
The figures below are manufacturer-published specifications, not results from an independent test. The GB product page’s cooling-capacity footnotes specify tests at 35°C and 80% relative humidity for BTU/h, and at 35°C and 40% relative humidity for kW under EN14511. Conditions in a real room will differ.

For the GB PACEM93K.1SILENT, De’Longhi rates cooling at 10,500 BTU/h (2.6 kW) and says the appliance is suitable for spaces up to 90 m³. The 90 m³ figure is the manufacturer’s stated suitability, not a guaranteed room-size limit or a floor-area recommendation. Ceiling height, sunlight, insulation, outdoor temperature, heat-producing equipment, and how well the exhaust opening is sealed all affect results.

When comparing portable AC units, compare cooling output and the stated room volume together, then consider the room’s heat load and installation. A unit can meet its published rating and still struggle to bring a hot, sunny, poorly sealed room to the temperature you want.
Is the PAC EM93K SILENT quiet enough for a bedroom?
De’Longhi lists 47/50 dB(A) minimum/maximum sound pressure for the GB PACEM93K.1SILENT. Sound pressure is not the same measurement as sound power: an older PAC EM93K specification sheet hosted by C&M Online gives a separate maximum sound-power figure of 63 dB(A). Do not compare those two numbers as if they were measured on the same scale.

De’Longhi describes the airflow as “quiet” and says it is “ideal to use in any situation.” That is manufacturer marketing language, not independent evidence that the unit will be unobtrusive in a bedroom. The published sound-pressure range and the available customer comments do not establish whisper-quiet operation; if you are noise-sensitive, compare the measurement and operating setting with alternatives and check the seller’s return terms.

These figures are for the GB listing, not a guarantee that an identically named product in another market has the same label or included parts. The older PAC EM93K sheet lists a different weight, 31.5 kg, so use the local product fiche rather than assuming that number applies to the GB suffix. Check the exact market’s energy label and fiche for the product being sold.

How does the exhaust-hose setup affect use?
This is a portable unit that needs its exhaust routed outside through the supplied window kit. The hose and window arrangement are part of the cooling setup: an open gap can let warm air back into the room and undermine comfort. The GB page lists a 1,250 mm vent hose. Measure the route to the window and check that the kit suits the opening before purchase; do not assume an extension or an additional seal will fit without confirming compatibility.
The listed castors and handles help with moving the appliance, but at 26.5 kg it is still a substantial item to reposition. Think about the path between storage and the room, including thresholds and carpet, rather than treating castors as proof it will be effortless to move.

An eBay listing showed three ratings, including a verified purchaser who described useful cooling and remote control but found the appliance heavy and harder to maneuver alone over carpet.
