The 900 W figure is useful for understanding the product category, but it is not a promise of faster toasting. Heating performance also depends on the control algorithm, starting bread temperature, slice thickness and the toaster’s condition. Likewise, the dimensions do not include any clearance you may need around the appliance for safe operation or access to the crumb tray.

“Progressive electronic browning control” indicates an electronic rather than purely mechanical adjustment in the listed design. The documentation available here does not provide a numbered range, target temperatures or a conversion between a setting and a particular shade. Start with the manufacturer’s instructions for your unit and adjust one step at a time; do not treat a dial position as a guaranteed color.

Reheat and defrost
These modes are intended for situations different from a normal room-temperature toast cycle, but the supplied material gives no timing table or food-size limits. Frozen bread can vary substantially in thickness and moisture, so follow the model manual for the recommended sequence. One-side bagel
The feature list confirms that a one-side bagel mode exists, but it does not say which internal elements heat, how the bagel must be oriented or whether the setting changes the cycle duration. Read the CTOC2003.Y instructions before using a bagel, especially if the cut face must face a particular direction.
Cancel and extra lift
Cancel is intended to end a cycle before its normal completion. Extra lift is intended to help retrieve smaller slices without reaching into the slots. The removable crumb tray is the only cleaning provision established by the specification sheet. It should make crumb collection possible without turning the toaster upside down, but the sheet does not provide a complete cleaning procedure or prove that the tray is dishwasher-safe.

Should you buy the De’Longhi Icona Capitals CTOC2003.Y?
